"I'm all ears." he told her. Kioh's face turned toward her, and his elven ears wiggled slightly in a goofy fashion. He gave her a little smile in hopes of making her laugh. She always seemed sad, and he knew perfectly well why. He would cheer her up, somehow, he would. He would make sure of it. Katy didn't deserve to frown for the rest of her life. She deserved better than that. She deserved the best. Something that Kioh would give his life over to give to her. "I'm a good listener." he insisted, trying to let her feel more comfortable.

She knew he was doing something, but she couldn't look at him. She just had to keep walking, had to stay quiet. She had to put distance between them and Caspian. He couldn't be around when she used her wand to kill him the same way she killed Caspian the IX. Her hand gripped the wand he made for him, the wand he would die by. "I don't want to talk."

He nodded and kept his mouth shut. He stepped a bit away from her, giving her more space. He put his hands in his pockets and looked down at the ground as he walked, the sand drifting softly beneath his feet. Then he looked up at her once more, "Do you mind if I sing... to you?" he asked her, his shyness returning to him. He could see her wand gripped in her hand tightly, and his ears twitched, listening for any danger that he may have over looked. Nope, nothing. Maybe she was just angry again. Her hand used to curve like an eagle's claw when she was angry. Maybe now she just grabbed her wand. He let it go, not thinking anything of it. He trusted her.

"No, no singing." Caspian promised when she came back he would sing to her. He never did. Susan had already stolen him by then. She didn't want to remember those berfect nights in his arms when she was the one who gave him comfort and he gove her love. How much farther should they go beofre she ended this and saved him from her.

"Alright." he said, and looked down again. But as he did before, he looked up. "Why are you so tense?" he asked her. "You seem nervous. What's wrong?" his eyes pleaded for an answer this time, not just a simple 'I don't want to talk about it'. If he was going to have a chance to make her happy again, she had to trust him just as much as he trusted her. "Please," he insisted. "How am I to help you if you won't speak to me?"

"Caspian!" How had she been right? Caspian was where he was told to go at the right time. He went through the desert, the sand far diffrent than the soil he was used to. the weight of his armour and his body forced him into the sand with each step, but he was where he needed to be. He knelt before his king like normal soldiers did and then looked up. "My king, demons are beginning to gather farther north. They are killing of civilians, farmers, merchants, and tax collectors in hopes of bringing down your kingdom's resourses." He gave his report and waited for his kings responce.

"I don't need help." she said keeping her gaze low. Her grip tightned again and she almost stopped. Not here, she was still to close to Caspian. At least now he had someone to distract him. She wouldn't get caught as easily, but sooner or later someone would find out. She needed to get a little farther.

"Have I upset you? Have I done something wrong?" he asked her. He was scared that he had screwed up again. As he had upset her when he kissed her hand. What had he done this time? He swallowed hard, trying to calm himself. What if she could sense how nervous he was? What if she thought he was a fool for being so shakey? He took a breath. "Please, sweet Katrina. Tell me what I've done." he had to know now.

"You haven't . . . " She sighed, "You havent done anything. Its me you should be afraid of." She should at least let him be happy before you end him. King Caspian was happy he was going to die when she killed him and that fact alone made him like her. It would buy his life some time, but he would be happy. "Do you realy want to help me?"

"I'm not afraid of you." he said, and then answered, "And yes, I want to help you more than anything." then Kioh shut up and listened. He wanted to know what to do. He wanted to make her happy again. He wanted to rid her heart of her suffering. He wanted to win her love as she had so effortlessly won his. He wanted to keep her safe. He wanted to protect her from any dangers of this war or any other. He wanted nothing more than her well being. How he was going to do this, however, he didn't know. He was unsuccessful even to bring a smile to her face.

"I need to prove to Caspian and Susan that i'm not a threat to them. I want to make something for Queen Susan, but it is incredibly hard to make. You can't make it because of your elf magic, but I can with wand-wielding. That's what makes this stone so rare and valuable. I want to make it. You can help me by getting everything together for me."

Kioh smiled brightly, grinning from pointed ear to pointed ear. "Absolutely. I'd be honored to." he told her boldly. "Just tell me what you need. -I'll remember." and he waited for his instructions. If he were a dog, his tail would have been wagging so fast that he might have became the first flying canine. But as an elf, all he would do was smile brightly, his eyes shining with pure delight.

"First I need to get ahold of a piece of granite, perfectly spherical and exactly two pounds." She told him. It did make her happy to see him so eager, "Also I need to get ahold of a phenix. I need the ashes, but they need to be fresh, still warm. And I'll need purified water with unicorn's hair. The horn's maigic would probably cleanse the water though too."

"Yes Ma'am!" his said, saluting her. He would carve the granite himself if he had to. The water and unicorn's hair could be found at the stables, where he knew at least one unicorn was kept. Secret, they called her. The phoenix he could purchase from one of the traders that crossed the sands of the desert. They would be sure to visit the town to sell their wares. "You can go home and relax a while. I'll be right behind you once I've gathered everything." he smiled brightly and turned, as if to run, before pausing. He turned back to her, "I love you, Katrina." he said, and turned again to run.

"what? No! I'm doing this to." she told him smiling wondering if it was what she should do. It could be giving him to much false hope. He was going to die when this was all over anyway. "You think I'll just sit and let you have all the fun?" and without any other warning she was gone, running across the sand. If he didn't follow fast enough he would lose her. She had no idea where she was actualy running to, she was just doing it for the fun of it.
