Katrina nodded. She didn't have nightmares often and hated when they came. She had enough problems and enemies in the world, why should her mind suddenly join them? After a moment she bowed her head, but didn't join kioh in his prayers. She wasn't sure if she believed in Aslan's power like she did before, or maybe she never did believe him to begin with. Whatever the case she didn't see the need for her to pray over the food. It wasn't as if her not praying would cause poison to jump into the food. It wouldn't matter anyway, Kioh would die before she took a bite if that was the case. After he started eating she did too. Only once did she stop when the taste of blood rather than the pain of knifepoint told her that she had cut her tongue on the daggar. But with nothing more than a mumbled curse and an unspoken spell the injury was healed. Afterward she ate much slower, but she didn't stop. It was good. When it was finished she put the tip of her wand in her mouth and mentaly said, "Aguamenti," and a thin stream of water slipped down her throat until she took it out. She then held the wand out to Kioh. "You're turn. The wand won't serve you as well so the water might come in drops or rivers, not little streams like you want to. the spell is Aguamenti." She told him, but wasn't sure if she was doing this teaching thing right.

Kioh smiled as he watched her, taking in every move she made. And then he took the wand, with a little wink to Katrina. He would impress her with what he could remember. Waving it just as she had, he pointed to his mouth. "Aguamenti!" he said, but nothing came. A little disappointed, he tried again, but with more feeling and demand in his voice. "Aguamenti!" It was as if someone had poured a bucket of water on him. Kioh choked and sputtered as he was instantly soaked. His eyes looked up at Katrina, and he smiled, laughing. "Refreshing." he joked, making the best of the situation. He shook his head vigorously like a dog, droplets of water flying from his hair. With a simple spell, he was dry again.
Finishing off his breakfast, he sheathed his sword, and dagger once she had finished. Standing, he held out a hand to help her up before bending to pick up the cloak. Kioh wrapped it around her shoulders, gentle as always. The morning sun was still low in the sky, and the desert air still cold in its rays. He knew this time was precious. Soon would come the heat and exhaustion that they would have to travel in.
Walking close beside her, he carried on through the sands, his pace fast and quick. They could cover good ground today. And if she wanted, they could run. Though he wondered how tired her nightmare had left her, so he would let her make the suggestion if she wanted.

She laughed when the water washed over him not bothering to be afraid of if he was choking. She watched his hair as he shook his head, the droplets of water making it shimmer. When his own magic had made him dry she finally looked away. She finished her breakfast and licked her knife partily becasue she had liked the desert food, but also because she wanted him to be afraid. After spinning the blade a few time and sheathing it she stood up and walked only a few paces. She didn't care for running and launched herself across the sand. her feet barely had any time to sink before she had taken another step. Kioh would catch up.

His eyes sparkled as she licked the blade. He wouldn't say anything, but personally he found it attractive. It made her look fearless, and he liked that quality in Katrina. Her musical laughter made his heart leap. He loved her laugh. It reminded him of a beautiful song in the evening.
Bounding off after her, he was quick to catch up, his feet flying rapidly, but with skillful silence, barely even disturbing the sand, contrary to what one might expect. His path was without trail when he ran. A technique he had learned in the military. A very useful technique.
When he was shoulder-to-shoulder with Katrina, Kioh gave her a playful glance, and with a tap to her back, he was gone, running further ahead of her. Tag.

She smiled as she felt his touch. So he wanted to play with her? She sped forward, her feet kicking up dustclouds of sand as she did. She hadn't learned to run without leaving a path behind her, not that she needed to know now. When she was the only one in the desert he was lookin for is wasn't like he needed a path to follow.
She quickly closed the distance between them, smiling as she did. When she decided she was close enough she lowered her head without slowing her pace. She hit her target, her body crashing into his knocking both into the sand. "IT!" she shouted before taking off again, this time breaking towards the east instead of the south.

Kioh hit the sand with an, "Oomph!" turning to face her in disbelief. Had she honestly just head-butted him? His laugh had barely begun and she was gone again, running over the land. She reminded him of so many things, so he had noticed. She had the grace of nature. And at the moment, she reminded him of a wolf, swift and quick, and strong.
Getting back onto his feet, he took off after her. So that was how she wanted to play? Alright. With nimbleness and agility, he raced to reach her. In a flash, he had scooped her up into his arms, spinning her around in a circle, laughing. How he would have loved to have kissed her then, holding her the way he did. But he wouldn't. Not without her consent. But that didn't stop him from giving her a look of, 'You ready for this?' before he sped faster than he had ever run before. The world was a blur around them, as if in a hurricane as he ran east. He would scare this fearless girl. Just a little. And he launched her high into the air, (above the tree tops, had there been trees in the desert), arms open to catch her again. As they always did. As they always would.
