"It's alright." Kioh said. "Thanks anyway. I like watching you smile and have fun with it." It was a good change. Much better than seeing her frown. "When do you want to start Elven training?" he asked her. Kioh rested his head against the tree, just watching her with a smile. She was so lovely in every way. Her personality, her attitude, her words, her thoughts, her looks, her magic, everything about her seemed to amaze him.

"i don't know," She admitted. She wasn't eager to jump into the physicaly draining and mentally straining she had seen the others use as training. It wasn't something she was into. with her magic she could go four hours if it pleased her and never be tired. Only her mind would be weary from the constant searching in her memory for the constant spells. "When do you want me too?"

"Whenever it pleases you." he told her. "I'll be there any time you wish to learn. Dawn, midnight, noon, morning, anything. I'll be there." said the elf honestly. He didn't want to practice now. Kioh was very tired, and wanted only to do what he was: resting and watching the grinning face of sweet Katrina. He was getting a little hungry though. A month without food usually did that to him.

She nodded and looked over the birds. They were beautiful and small, not what she was looking for. "Avis." She said again and more birds came, these being of every species. She chose the largest of them and aimed her wand at him and gave another spell. "Sectumsempra!" It was all she could use aside from the killing curse. A gash appeared on the bird's side, nearly severing his wing. He fell to the ground andtried to fly for only a few moments as his blood spread over his dark feathers. She leaned beside the bird she had created to kill and only then did she realize that elves never ate meat.

Kioh's eyes went wide in shock and horror. "What are you doing?!" he exclaimed, leaping to his feet and in an instant he was beside the animal. The elf touched the wing softly and healed it, then cradled the frightend bird in his arms and brought it back to the tree roots with him. "Don't kill it." he said, looking down at the feathered creature. "He didn't do anything."

"I know," She said sadly and dropped to her knees as if the spell had drained her strength, though she knew all to well that it hadn't. "I'm a fool. I wanted to get something for you to eat so you could regain your energy, but I like an idiot forgot our own promise not to kill the creatures of our land for food. I know he hadn't done wrong, yet I killed needlessly for what I hoped would be your benifit. But it was wrong; in every way it was wrong. And to make it worse I created him just so I could kill it. He had no purpose and wanted only to feel the sky for the first time and I took that away from him. And now that neither of us can or will eat him his needless death will end only by him lying still and rotting away."

Kioh got up and kneeled next to her. "You aren't a fool, Katrina." he told her, the bird still in his hands. "You just forgot. It's not your fault. You were barely ever around to even learn our customs. It was an accident. And he won't rot away, look." he set the bird down on the ground, and the creature began to peck the soil for worms. Kioh picked up the bird and placed him in Katrina's lap. "Through your magic you gave him a life, and now he can live it. See." Kioh stroked the bird's head softly, and the animal closed his eyes. "But thank you for trying to find me some food. I do appreciate it." he told her. It really was thoughtful of her to try and get him something to eat. He liked it because it showed that she cared for him, a little bit at least. "I know a tree with sweet peaches." he told her, standing again. "Will you run with me?" Kioh's face was smiling as he held out a hand for her. The elf could only hope that he would get a smile back.

She looked at the bird not knowing how it moved. She had killed it and no magic could give life to the already departed. Yet here he was, searching for his next meal right in front of her. But what happened wasn't erased. It still lingered in her mind and the damage had been done. nevertheless she stood beside him and looked to the other trees around him. Her wand she slid into a loop on her belt that served the same purpose as a sheath for a sword next to the knife that had been on her hip for almost a year now - or was it two? She looked to the trees and their thick sturdy, yet close knitted branches. "I'll do more." She told him and with a powerful leap she had jumped into the branches and was swinging freely following no particular direction being that she knew not where she was going.

Kioh laughed and followed her up into the branches, and the bird watched them go. "I didn't know that fishes knew how to swing in trees." he teased her, making his way deeper into the forest, knowing that she would follow him. Kioh smiled back at her brightly, "Keep up, Fishy!" he teased.

"fish?" She called changing her pattern and sprinting ahead so she could drop a few feet down and still be in front of him. She dangled by her knees off one of the branches and bent backwards in air so that she not only faced him, but she could see him right-side-up. It wasn't nessesarly painful for an elf, but not something a normal human would dare try. "What fish could even dare to soar in the sky, yet still be bound to the earth."

"You." he answered, taking her hand as he passed her and pulling her off the branch, but not letting go of her hand. "Keep up, keep up, Fishy." he jeered, grinning down at her. That was her new nickname that he could tease her with. Fishy.

"Not fishy!" She shouted after him and pulled from his grip. With her support withdrawn she fell a few inches before her hands caught another branch and when she let it catch her she let the momentem carry her body around the limb before she let go and flipped to land on another. Without any time to change her mind che caught sight of another and leapt to it, this time forcing herself to gather enough energy to let her hands hold her body from under her until she found the strength to push off again. Like this she continued following after Kioh until he would find this tree of his.

Kioh laughed. "Acrobat Fish!" he teased, taking a sharp left and zooming past branches at a time, catching one and thrusting himself through the air towards another. "Keep up, keep up, Acrobat Fish!" he shouted happily.

She growled as she forced her way to him. "I can't get ahead of you," she reminded him, "I'm not the one who know's where we're going."

"I know." he said. He just found it fun to tease her. Then, almost invisibly, Kioh leaped from the trees to the soft earth. The tree was here. He stepped slowly up to its branches, regaining his balance. His eyes scanned the leaves for the ripest and plumpest fruit. When he spotted it, he climbed up the limbs of the peach-covered plant and plucked it from the very top of the tree, and then pulled himself back down to the ground carefully. Kioh cleaned it off with his shirt and smiled, waiting for her to join him, his the peach in his hand already outstretched to her.
