He could hear the lion demon's roars as their numbers dropped. The boy left his hiding place, bored with the wait. If the Lansa would not do as they were told then he would do it himself. He drew his sword and ran the short distance to the temple. He felt a strange burning inside him as he neared, but he pushed it away. Aslan and all his power was not great enough to stop him. He watched for a moment as Lansa and Narnians fell. The Narnians fought to protect others, at times a friend would fall beside him and grief would slow him down. but the Elite Lansa did not care. A normal Lansa might but not an Elite. The Elite Lansa were some of the most powerful of demons. They were the devil's response to Aslan himself. They were created in his likeness and just as powerful. And like Aslan's beloved legond of the stone table, they defied death itself. One of Susans arrows pierced one's chest and it fell dead. There it would lie for several moments before breath would return and he would fight again with blood still pouring from it's chest. But he didn't care about the demons or the Narnians. "Cousin!" He called over the chaos raising his blade "Come, and I will give you the blessing to join your mother!"

It couldn't have been right. Her arrows struck countless numbers of the firemaned monsters. Yet they fell only to stand and fight with the arrows still in their bodies and blood pouring. But things were only to become worse as the boy came and raised his sword challenging Caspian. He used his mother, one of Caspian's weak points, and part of her said he would charge the boy. She aimed an arrow for him with trembleing arms. If not for her fear and rage her body would not be strong enough to lift her bow, but rarely did she make her target, just as she missed now. Please, Caspian, She begged in her mind don't do anything stupid.

Caspian watched from the oposite side of the windows as his cousin came closer and closer to the church. He merely smirked at the devil-spawn's challenge. Lamont hadn't even attempted to open the door. Who knows what might happen if evil tried to penetrate through the gates of goodness? Aslan would save them. Caspian knew in his heart that this was true. Even though the Great Lion may not have physically been with them, he was everywhere. He was the peace that calmed the hearts of crying babes. He was the air that allowed the Narnians to breathe. He was the torch light that no darkness could swallow. He was the thing that comforted even those that were litterally dying of fright. And he was the church door that separated Lamont and Caspian. He was the true Hero. He was the invinsable warrior. And Aslan was the one that would save them tonight. The King continued to just watch his cousin. Not a word would come from his lips, not a challenge, nor a threat. Aslan was on the Narnian side, and he knew it. In the church, there was no need for fear.

"Coward!" Lamont called after him. He called a Belstone to his side to break down the door. The wood was much weaker than stone and most of it collapsed in seconds. His body shuddered involuntarily but it was nothing that could be noticed. "If you will not fight then that makes me the victor. I will take what I came for and go." With his sword still ready he searched over the battle and found his prize, his Susan. He could see, just barely, the child inside her that was his own. He smiled at the sight, but when he saw the hand that covered it and the ring that glittered brightly he roared in anger and lunged for her.

Susan smiled at her husband. He was silent, still, and strong. He hadn't let Lamont get to him like he had in the past. The boy was good at making people want to kill him, even she wanted to. The young Narnians screamed and cried as the door broke open, their only protection against them was gone. She readied her arrows, but her strenght was undependable. When they flew their path was not straight and they had little force behind them. To make matters worse, any that could have done any damage was deflected by a belstone that served as a living sheild for a lansa. But she had made her mistake, she had watched the demons and the children too carefuly. But then she screamed for Caspian as she heard the boy roar and felt his strong grip as he took hold and held tight to her wrist. "Caspian!" She screamed as his touch sent a feeling of dread over her body and the children were thrown into panic again. Only one could think that panicing only made things worse and grew still. "Caspian, help me!"

The statue of Aslan lunged for Lamont, its mighty paws crashing down upon him. His silver fangs fell upon the throat of the boy, but did not crush the life out of him. The statue spoke, "These are my children." it said. "Go to your master Tash. Show him what has happened to his newly aquired son." And with that the stone Lion bit down into Lamont's throat. Surprisingly, the metal did not crush the bone or draw blood. Instead, they sank into the skin, leaving their poison to flow through his body. This was no ordinary silver. This venom could never be cured. The other Narnians ran for him. Minotaurs, unicorns, gryphons, swans, fauns, centaurs, leopards, all with swords drawn and bows raised. They would protect their Queen from Lamont. The golden chain that held tassles wrapped around his cousin, tightening, pinning him down. Caspian ran for Susan, taking her from Lamont's grasp. His sword pressed down against the devil-child's throat and didn't hold back this time. He had made enough mistakes of this. Caspian wanted him dead. But it didn't kill him. The King looked at the statue, eyes wide. The Lion only laughed at him. "Only I can kill him." it said. "But I must be in my true form to do that. This will have to do for now. He can't harm you." and it was true. The Word became its Meaning. No longer would Lamont's magic have any effect on Caspian or Susan. But the magic could not completely be gone. Lamont still had the power to do whatever he pleased, just not to Susan or his cousin. The King also had a feeling that their immunity was but temporary, so they had to enjoy it while it lasted. The statue turned its head to the approaching demons, who froze. "Those that wish to live may only live in Hell. Retreat to your evil home or I will smite you." Those demons that took the warning fled. Only two. The statue roared, and the others were turned to dust. Caspian dropped to his knees in awe, speechless and unable to move. They had witnessed Aslan's power, something that was not even a fraction of what the Lion could truely do. Caspian's jaw dropped and he bowed to the Great Lion, as did all the other creatures. This was more important to them than the battle currently taking place. Caspian held Susan close to him. Nothing would take her from him.

Susan dropped to her knees in front of the great lion's statue. Never before had she seen a monument come to life. But when he looked to her, his eyes filled with sadness, she looked away too ashamed to meet his eyes. "Do not fear," He said, "you know me well." she felt his muzzle press against her forhead and her fear left her only to be replaced by hapiness. "I have disobeyed," She said, "Will I have punishment?" The lion's tounge ran over her face and he spoke again, "I give no punishment to any man, but those who do not follow with all their heart will not have my help. You have given your heart to Caspian, a common desicion for a woman of your age, but in doing so you push me away. Because of this you have lost my support. But I will stay around, ready for you to surrender again. But this warning I give you: Things will become much darker before light comes." She looked up at him for the fist time unafraid. She took her lover's hand knowing what she did, but not what needs to be done.

Len walked away from the village with her bag over she shoulder. She wanted to go away for a while after the groups return from the islands. She felt left out, as if she didn't belong. It didn't matter to her, she was used to it. Walking through the forest she wondered why her hands shook and her heart raced. She hadn't felt that way in a long time. Something was drawing her closer. She started to run, the wind moving her along faster and faster.
She stopped taking deep breaths. She just made it to the Telmar forest. A trip that would have taken her at least a day or two. She was impressed with her speed. She was training the entire time she was gone. Len was glad to be back. Something stirred inside her telling that this she where she belonged. In Narnia and Telmar, wherever the kings and queens ruled in the name of Aslan.
She heard some shouting and fighting coming from the edge of the forest. She walked towards the noise as she unsheathed her daggers and smoothed her dark green and brown dress. She came into view of Susan, Caspian, Peter, the shapeshifter and Lamont. Just like old times.
"What did I miss this time?" She asked.

Caspian held her hand and kissed it. They were safe. The demons were gone. But Lamont was still there, and Narnia was still in danger. The statue of Aslan fell silent, shifting back into his original position in the church. Caspian felt like jumping towards him, begging him not to go. But he knew that the Lion had good reasons for leaving them, even if Caspian didn't know what they were.
Now his eyes shifted over to the new face that entered the church. Len was back. "A lot." he answered. "A wedding and part of a battle." He said 'part of a battle' because it really wasn't over. Even though the demons were vanquished, Lamont still remained, bound by the golden tassle chains. Lamont still had his power, it was just a question of whether or not he was stupid enough to waste it. He couldn't harm Caspian or Susan, and there was nothing else left for him to gain here.
Lucy walked up to them, joining their embrace without saying anything. There were a few wounded on the Narnian side, but thankfully, no casualties. The second half of the battle would now take place, if Lamont were wise enough to go away and present himself to Tash, like Aslan had instructed. None of Narnia could prevent him from doing that. Aslan himself had said that only He can kill him now. The second half would be to help the wounded, a reunite family and loved ones. But could it begin now? Caspian hoped that Len might volunteer to help. Things would be a lot easier with magic, and Lucy could save a bit more of her gift from Father Christmas for needer times. The King sat with them now, his arm around Susan and Lucy between them. He waited to see what his cousin would do.

"Wait, Aslan-" She tired to call him, but before she could ask anything the lion had become stone again. Maybe, someday, he'll come back and tell her more, tell her what she needs to do. She couldn't just stop loving Caspian. She never thought it could even be done, could even be possible. But to find a way to serve both her lover and her king were seemingly inpossible tasks. She had given Caspian her heart, her trust, her all. Now was she supposed to take all of it back? Didn't that defeat the point of marriage itself? She couldn't understand what to do.
She looked to the boy as he laid tied by the lion's chains. She wanted to laugh at him, but also drive her arrows through his heart. But she could not do it, only Aslan could now. She moved colser to Caspian wanting the protection he readily offered.

The boy growled and pulled against his bonds, his eyes only for Susan and his child within her. "You won a battle, don't think this is over. I am the father and I will have my son. Aslan's said it himself, he will not help you, so you can surrender now or there will be blood." For the moment he was trapped with his sword some distance away. All he could do now was throw insults and wait until one of his servants came. He wouldn't turst even the Nelforian demons in this cursed place.

Caspian could only laugh at his cousin through some unseen humor. Happiness. They had one, and now the devil himself was squirming in chains in on the floor. In Caspian's opinion, it was delightful. "No you won't." he said, smiling. "That's my baby. And you'll never see him." The King stood and picked up the writhering snake that was his only blood. "You are a scrawny little snake, aren't you?" he sneered, walking towards the gate to the Keep. "Good-bye." was the last words he said to his cousin, before Caspian threw him like a haybale out of the castle. The wolves could find him for all Caspian cared. But the odds were that his cousin would free himself, somehow. The King walked back to Susan and Lucy and put an arm around both of them. "We should search for the wounded." he said.

Susan smiled as he threw out the boy who caused them so much pain. Soon she was at his side, kissing him agian, happy again. She put her hand over her stomach and it stopped. She still kissed, as though nothing seemed out of place, but something inside her told her it was.

Caspian smiled and kissed her back, his eyes glancing over to Lucy, knowing that she would make some sort of a comment. "Awe..." the little Queen said sarcastically, wrinkling her nose and putting her hands together.
Caspian laughed and pointed to Reepicheep. "Go kiss him. Everyone knows you just want to kiss him."
The mouse's eyes went wide as he stared at Caspian. "You traitor!" he accused, but he had to run because Lucy had begun chasing after him. She wouldn't really kiss him, knowing that it would offend his knightly title. But she was still going to run after him.
Caspian turned back to Susan and kissed her again. "What do they think?" he asked, speaking of his children.

She felt her breath stop as she forced herself to answer. She made the promise when he asks she would tell. Now she regretted it, possibly more than before. "Good and bad," She said with a voice that almost shook. "The good is that they've calmed down. They were all panicing, except for one, and it hurt a little. But they've slowed down to normal. The bad . . ." She paused for a moment unsure if she could finish her sentence herself. But she had to keep her promise. "The bad is that the one who didn't panic hasn't moved since the demons first came."
