"I'm alright," she said lowering her gaurd for the dragon. He wouldn't be moving for a while. She crossed her arms over her stomach and looked away ignoring the pain. she wanted to leave and go back to the keep and get some rest. Telmar was so very far away and the journy would take a few weeks. But she also wanted to know what the beast was trying to do to them.

Caspian watched her concernedly, and wrapped his arms around her waist, just as he had before he had been whisked away by the shape-shifter. It killed him to see her like this. "We should go find the others in a bit." he said to her. The fire had died down now to a ring of coals that they could simply step over. But Caspian had to speak to their enemy first.
"What is it that you want so badly from us?" he snapped. "Why do you attack us when my cousin will surely kill and replace you anyway?"

"I want nothing from you." he said in a voice not much more than a whisper, "In truth, I did not even want to fight you. But Aslan seemed to come to those near death. I thought if I put one of you to that point then perhaps your lion would come. But he did not and I have failed."

"You idiot." Caspian snarled. "Aslan comes to those in need, not to those who fake it." He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Go away. Fly off to my devil of a cousin and show him what happens when people fight against the Narnians. Go!" Caspian shouted. He knew that the beast could probably not lift his wing, much less fly, but he didn't care. His excuse was the stupidest he had ever heard. Then he turned to Susan. "Let's go." he said softly. "If he wants nothing from us, we have no reason to stay here."

Susan smiled brighter then she had since she had seen her father. She didn't have to face him, at least not yet. Sooner or later she would, but at least the judgement was posponed until she could come up with something she could actualy say. she hugged Caspian tightly ready to leave. "I want to go home."

Caspian nodded as he used the last of his strength to become human. The boy was strong, stronger than he ever had thought. But how well could he lead? He let his body lie still as he slowly let conciseness fail him. He would wake up later.

Caspian smiled when he saw her smile. "Me too." he said. The warrior scooped her up into his arms. "But first we have to get the others." He walked towards the castle, ignoring his unconsious father and simply stepped around him. Light was visible in the windows where Lucy and her father were. Peter was standing out in the doorway. The lions had gone when the shape-shifter fell, and Caspian said "Hello." to him and then stepped inside. The man brought her to the small group of people, just Lucy and Mr. Pevensie. Caspian set Susan down gently so she could stand a moment. "We have to go back to Telmar now." he said. "There are two carridges in the stables that are ready for us."

Susan kissed him again as he put her down and went to what would one day be the stables. There two carrages of red, gold, and green waited for them just as he said. In front of each were six dumb horses who could not speak. one, a black spanish stallion, was not attached to the carrages but stood ready to follow. Susan went to this stallion and stroked his nose enjoying its velvet touch. It whinnined and tossed its head when Caspian came following her as he did simply because he didn't know his way around yet. "Desdere missed you." She told him.
((OOC: I know the horse's name i just can't spell it))

Caspian laughed. "That's okay. It seems he found a new friend." Of course, he was talking about Susan. He reached out and stroked the horse's neck. "Ready to go home, boy?" he spoke to the horse. It didn't answer, but by the look in its eyes, he had been waiting to hear that phrase all night. Caspian opened the door to one of the carrages for Susan and bowed, "After you, my Queen." he said, smiling up at her.

His queen. The words were meant to be nothing more than a curtious gesture, but to her it meant so much more. It made her feel as if he was truly calling her his own, something she had longed for. She didn't want to talk about her troubles anymore. She didn't want to talk about fears. She wanted only to sit lie on the seat beside Caspian with her head in her lap while she slept and the comfort of his fingers running throuhg her hair. "I love you."

"I love you, too." he said after he had sat down beside her. Caspian kissed her. "Thank you again, for saving my life." he said. The man put an arm around her shoulder lovingly and looked into her eyes as he so often loved to do. He reached out for her hand and held it. "Get some rest." he told her. Then he leaned his head back and told the driver, "We're ready to go to Telmar, please." Peter and Lucy and Mr. Pevensie could ride in the other carrage.
Slowly, the wheels began to move as the horses pulled, and then it sped up as they got onto the dirt road. Caspian was glad to be going home. So long it had been since they had been there. It would be nearly three weeks by the time that they arrived. The first thing that he was going to do when he got back, was go shopping for a ring.

"There's no need to thank me." She told him, "I know you would've done the same." She looked back up at him and yawned. She leaned against his shoulder wondering if eventualy he would get tired of supporting her slowly increasing weight. She took his hand with one of hers and closed her eyes instantly being taken to the world of her dreams. Though she did not know it her free hand lay over the body of her child and it moved so very little that the young mother couldn't feel what had happened.

"I wasn't just talking about the dragon." he said, but she was already asleep. Caspian welcomed her head to his shoulder and rested his head upon hers. The motion of the carrage reminded him much of the ship, and slowly he was rocked to sleep. His dreams flowed through his mind. A ring... a kiss... a family.

So many year had past since she saw herself. In front of her, not too far, a young dark haired boy, maybe five years old dragged a sword across the ground. At the sound of metal going dull against stone he was caught by his father who took the blade from his hand and lifted him above his head.
"Why do you keep taking that from me?" Caspian told him, "You know I don't like it."
"I'm gonna be the best swordsman Narnia's ever find." He answered with a voice of confidence.
"You still have a few years left to go before you can start training."
"But momma lets Allenia use her arrows and she's younger than me. I wanna sword."
"Arrows are a diffrent matter. You could use them if you want."
"No. Arrows are for sissy girls." The father put down the boy and crossed his arms and pouted. "I'm notta girl."
"Your just mad cuz I'm better than you." Someone else said. A little girl, maybe not much older than three or for with almost perfect resemblance to her mother came through later carring her own amature bow.
"Both of you stop fighting." Caspian told them. "Caspian, you will get to be a swordsman if that's what you want. But you do have to wait for it. Archery is much eaiser, at least I think it is, but it takes a longer time to fully master. Now hush and go outside before you wake your brother." The both of them nodded and the younger Caspian left. Allenia stayed behind a little longer to ask if she could use Mist, her pony mare, and then left.
When the children had left Caspian went to her and lovingly put her hands on her bare shoulders and kissed her neck. She held yet another son hin her arms as he fed from her body. "How is he?" He asked.
"I think he's getting better." She answered, "His fever's going down at least and I think the worst of it is over. Now we can just wait and pray. He's like his father, he'll make it."
"And what about the other one?" At this question she nodded and lifted the young child, carefuly not to distirb his feeding. Caspian slipped his hand under him and let his hand rest on the full stomach that. Aslmost in responce to his touch something within her rolled and he smiled. "It's alright it seems." They kissed again and then a voice echoed above them and the dream ended.
"I wasn't just talking about the dragon. . . .
She let herself wake up as she tried to remember what had happened just before the dream. Failing she simply looked up at him questionly. Still not wanting to bring in the past she asked just the same. "What about the dragon."

Caspian woke when her head stirred beneath his. "What?" he asked, taking a moment to bring himself from his moment of sleep. "Oh. I wasn't just talking about the dragon." he repeated. "When I thanked you for saving my life, I wasn't just talking about the dragon." explained Caspian. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him. He was glad to have danger gone from them, at least for the moment. The King smiled to himself proudly, the shape-shifter would have a life-long reminder of his mistakes. A life-long reminder of what Caspian would do if his family was in danger. He kissed the top of her head and looked down at her, wondering if she was going to say something after he answered her question.
