"He has always believed that I was stronger than him and that he should serve me like any common servant. But he has gained strength through powerful magic that I do not know. Now he controls Peter and he has managed to copy your fighting style almost exactly and add some parts of his own. and now that he has his own allies then I cannot say what he will do with me. I am more than sure that sooner or later he will turn against me and I will die."

her father said nothing to her so far, only held his youngest and oldest in his arms. Every now and then he would look up at her and their eyes would meet and she would look away. Eventualy she could stand it no more and the moment that was supposed to be glorious and happy, the reunition with her sister, was now a momet of fear and regret due to the judgement of her father. So this was simply solved and she left going back to where they had first began their search for Lucy. There she kneeled close to the wall and put her head against it not knowing what to think. No one except Peter and Lucy knew their way around so no one except Peter and Lucy would be able to search and find her before she had enough time to pull herself together and have her thoughts straight.

Caspian nodded. "Then you shouldn't go back to him. Leave him stranded there, and we will kill him somehow." The man watched sadly as Susan left. "Is there anything else that you have to say about her?" he asked. "'Cause if not, my friend is feeling left out." Caspian said. What also bothered him was that she was alone now, and the shape-shifter had said that Lamont had allies. Obviously, the allies were somewhere in Narnia.

"I must," He said sadly, "If I were to not return then he would turn me away and use his allies to kill me in an instant. But at least now I can still be of use to you." He too watched as Susan left unsure of why, "Make sure you are there for her, my son. You have good taste, I can tell you that. She is," He paused for a while as the memory sank in, "very much like your mother."

Caspian nodded and smiled. "She is like Mother in some ways." he said. "But she's different too." Then he walked off to find her. "Susan?" he called, not quite so loudly as when they were searching for Lucy. "Where are you?"

Susan stayed silent for a few moments longer as she heard him call for her. She didn't want to be found, not like this. Her father had always told her when she was younger to be strong and brave, she was Lucy's example. But what good of an example she had turned out to be. She didn't care if they never came, if they never found her. Caspian would eventualy and as long as he was there she could find a way to be happy.

"Susan?" he called again. Corner after corner he turned, hall after hall he walked. How far had she gone off to? "Susan?" he called again, a little more loudly this time. Caspian began to worry again. Had she been caught? Were Lamont's men here, in Cair Paravel? The answer to both of his questions was 'no'. But Caspian didn't know that. His feet moved fast beneath him. Why wouldn't she answer?
Finally, he spotted her. She was sitting on the floor, and he aproached her cautiously, wondering if it was okay that he was there or if she just needed time to herself. "Susan?" he said again, slowly taking a seat next to her. His sword clanked on the ground. It was the only armor that he wore. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" he asked her, looking into her eyes and trying to find the answer himself.

when he sat beside her she leaned against his chest. Doing this always made her feel safe, no mater what hell was raging around her. "He'll hate me," she whispered, "I've been a horrible daughter." Her arms folded across her stomach as a wave of nausia passed over her. All this fear, these new enemies, her father, Caspian's father, and above all the looming fear of possible pregnancy made her sick. "I'm afraid, I think."

Caspian placed his hands over hers. "You have not been a horrible daughter." he said. "You are the most wonderful person in the World. No one could ever hate you." Caspian told her. His thumb rubbed the top of her hand in comfort. She had every right to be afraid, and it wouldn't be fair of him to tell her not to be.

Susan sighed in relif. How could he always be so perfect when she needed him? Every time she thought he might be hurting she almost drove herself mad trying to figure out what she could say to him. But he spoke effortlessly and in moments her heart was lifted, at least a little bit. "Peter said Edmund was investigating something with the Calmornes, said they may be starting a war. Can we handle any more enemies right now?"

"No." he said honestly. "We have to built our own army first, and speak with our own allies. We can't be off fighting with them at the same time we fight Lamont." Caspian said. "But we can try. Maybe if we can find out what's causing all of this chaos, it can be stopped before it even begins." he said, hope in his voice. "Maybe it's just something stupid, and we can do something to win them over as allies." But that was the thing. No one knew just what they could do to win over the Calmornes. No one knew why they were starting a war. They had to wait for King Edmund to return with news.
There was a silence for a moment. "Father says that Lamont has eyes for you. -Says he is unbeatable. And that when my cousin is through and has his way that he will take you for himself or you will die." Caspian reported the majority of what the shape-shifter had said. He didn't want to tell her about the marriage part, because he had already been planning on proposing long before he had spoken with Cotnar. Caspian wanted it to be a suprise. "But I won't let him take you."

She barely shook her head. The Calmornes could never be won over as allies. They served a demon god with the body of a mand and a vulture of a head. In their kingdom they took people off the streets and burned them as sacrifices to their demon god. Their rulers spent their time ignoring the poverty of the people and getting drunk off their red wine. And bacause Narnians were so diffrent they were the barbarians.
But then her body shook as he told her the rest. Somewhere in the back of her mind something told her that the boy wasn't done with her, but she ahad prayed she was wrong. Now, knowing truth she regretterd to know, she buried her head in his chest and cried. "I don't want him," She whispered between her tears, "I want you, no one else. Why can't these people understand it and leave me alone? The demon of a boy will use you against me I know it."

Caspian stroked her hair lovingly and kissed the top of her head. "No, he won't." he said. "He won't put a hand on you, nor will he ever control me." the King's voice was kind and smooth, no rough edges in it whatsoever. "My love for you is stronger than any magic." he told her. His fingers ran through her long black hair and his hand rubbed her back. "You're safe, Susan." Caspian said. And he would do everything that he possibly could to make sure that she remained safe.

Again he had done it like he always had. The tenderness of his touch and the softness in his voice had brought her level of fear down dramiticly. For a moment she closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of his fingers in her hair. But after a while of this she looked up at him, only for a moment, before pulling him into a kiss. "Praise Aslan I have you, even if I don't know why I desirve you."

Warmth consumed his entire body. Her kiss was like electricity that sparked his lips. Caspian smiled and kissed her back. "I think it's the other way around." he said. He loved everything about her. The way her heart was beating on his chest, the way she kissed him when she was happy again. He loved the way they could comfort each other when they were sad, and how she always knew how to make him smile. He loved the way her eyes sparkled when he looked at her, and how they always seemed to hold some kind of a mystery. Caspian chuckled joyfully, a happy noise deep from within his throat. "We make a pretty good team." he said, his fingers still stroking her hair. He kissed her forehead. "I love you." Caspian told her.
