"Ironic," She thought, "how two people, no matter what the world says and dose, will still love eachother, yet neither believes they deserve it." She let him hold her, allowing her thoughts to dwell only on him knowing her enemies and fears lie only outside of the walls of these chambers. But they meant nothing now, for none came to mind. She remembered each word he had said to her, remembered each perfect touch, and then remembered more that had happened in the endless world of dreams. But then her mind, a complex being in itself as it is with all humans, began to dwell not only on Caspian, but the many dreams she has had with him beside her. She continued to think on them until she could do so no longer and at last forced herself to speak. "Caspian," She asked him. "Where do you believe dreams come from? I've always been told so many things and I've never actualy knew. Part of me truly wants to believe that dreams are nothing more than your greatest desire coming to life as you sleep. But others have told me that they come from memories and I've seen them as that too. But then someone told me that they are not only from your life, but the lives of thousands of other beings before you, passed down through blood from the first source of life."

Caspian thought for a moment. "I'm not entirely sure." he said honestly. "I think that dreams come from the things that you think about most often, or want the most. Sometimes, if I'm scared about something and it keeps playing over in my mind before I go to sleep, I'll have a nightmare. Other times, I'll be wishing about something, and then I'll dream about it." Caspian told her. "And sometimes I'll think about something one day, and not even let it cross my mind for a few days afterward and then just all of a sudden have a dream about it. Maybe dreams are lost thoughts, desires, worries, fears, and other things that we can't let go of. I'm not entirely sure though, I'm just guessing."
Caspian brushed her hair behind her ears and scratched her back. "Why do you ask?"

Susan siged as she thought of her most recient dream wiht him. She had always hoped to tell him one day, just not so soon. But when she is asked it is her place to answer, to hold nothing back.
"When we were just starting to ome back from Dark Island I couldn't sleep very well until you were there. Every time I closed my eyes I saw him . So I tried to focus on something else, something good. But when I realizes what was happening I was hurting, screaming, tearing from pain. I couldn't see much through the water, but I knew you were there and a few others. I was ready to give up, maybe even to die, but you wouldn't let me like you always do. It wasn't much longer until everything ended and you left me alone. At first I wanted to call you and have you stay, but I couldn't find much of my voice, I had screammed too much. But when you came back holding something you were happy, happier than I had ever seen you before. And then you gave it to me and I was happy to. It moved, but hardly at all, like it was asleep. And wen I looked back up at you, you were beside me whispering. Remember what you said very well, they keep coming back in my mind each time I see you. You said 'We have a son.' And then I woke up." She stopped then for a while to let him think before she said anything, "I want to believe that this was something I want, but if it isn't then why dose it keep coming back."

Caspian felt a tug on his heart. He thought for a moment, but it felt like a long time to him. "Susan," he said, "Don't you think your a bit young to be a mother?" The King was happy, because it meant that she loved him just as much as he loved her. But it felt strange to him that she would be telling him about these kinds of dreams so soon after what his father had told him. 'A noble decision that she will either admire or spite you for.' he had said.

"I would think so," She said sadly, "but here things are diffrent. In England two lovers can marry when they're eighteen, even younger if their parents agree. But here, or at least it was when I was here, if the heart's bond is strong enough then we are free to love, and marry, no matter how young, with a few limitations of course. There have been other girls in my schools who have had children though they are younger than me. I don't think it's a matter of age, but maturity. And that you have pletny of."

Caspian massaged her hands gently as she spoke. "I didn't think of it that way." he said. But still, he found it hard to imagine Susan walking around with a pregnant belly, his own child inside. Not with all the chaos going on right now with Lamont and the aproaching war. Have you considered the thought that there may never be another chance? his father's voice came inside of his mind again, and Caspian shook his head to get rid of it. The shape-shifter couldn't be his real father. He had seen his real father at the funeral that day. He was slaughterd by Caspian's uncle. There was no way that he could be alive.

"Few do." She said, but she looked up as he shook his head. Emotions crossed over his face, but she couldn't read them. He seemed distracted, his thoughts so far away from what she spoke of. Once more her failure as a comforting lover, a skill that Caspian had mastered so eaisly, was begining to show. "Is something bothering you?" She asked.

"Yes." Caspian answered truthfully. "But don't you worry about it." he smiled at her affectionately. He could only pray that she would trust him to have a good reason not to tell her why he was bothered. Caspian wondered what she would say if he asked her to marry him. Would she accept? Would she turn him away? He wasn't going to ask her yet, but he would in the near future. That's one of the other things that bothered him. Just how near was that future? Caspian watched her for a long time, mezmorized by her beautiful eyes. He felt lucky to have someone like her as a friend, and even more, a lover.

Susan touched the side of his face before looking away. When he had asked her she would tell, regardless of how painful her thoughts were. She kept nothing from him, everything she was belonged to her perfect lover. Yet, when she questioned him he held back, hiding simething from her. she hoped his reasons and inttentions were good, but the thought that it might not be still pressed on the back of her mind. There were athousand horrible things Caspian could be doing without her knowledge or approval, but was one of these things what bothered him? She wanted to press for answers but kept herself silent. He wouldn'tve pressed her.

Caspian laughed and smiled. He touched her face when she touched his, almost reading her thoughts. "Don't worry." Caspian repeated. "It's nothing bad, I just want it to be a suprise." That was all he would say. Anything else would give it away. He stroked her cheek softly with his fingers and then looked down the hallway from which he'd come. "We should probably get back to Lucy and the others." Caspian suggested.

Susan was comforted when he said this, but the thoughts still remained. A person could still mean things very diffrent than what he says. But she nodded and agreed, even if she still did not want to face him. "They probably are waiting for us," she stood and again the wave of sickness passed over her only this time it stayed much longer. Eventualy it did leave her, but she was surprised that nothing had come out of her before then. If it were to happen again she doubted she could be as lucky.

Caspian watched her as she stood. His eyebrows immediately snapped into his concerned expression. He put an arm around her shoulder. "Are you feeling alright?" the man asked her. "You look pale." Caspian watched her face as he waited for her to answer him. She did look almost ill.

"I'm fine," She answered not wanting him to worry, "It'll go away just like all the other times." Part of it wa true, part of it wasn't. But if he was allowed to not tell her things, then she could as well. Besides, it was nothing more than a little stomach bug that she probably caught. It wouldn't stay very long, she hoped. "We should go," She told him trying to bring the focus off herself and to the others.

He looked at her, protectiveness and worry still over his face. "If you're sure..." Caspian said. So he began to look around again, finding himself lost for yet a third time. "Which way is back?" the man asked her, laughing slightly at himself. He could hear them talking in that big room somewhere in this castle, but the stone walls made it almost impossible to tell from which direction the whisper of voices was coming from as they echoed off of them.

She almost laughed again but only smiled. The pathway from here to the main chamber where the others were was not a far or complicated path. She took his hand and went to kiss him again, but thought better of it for the sake of her sickness that pressed her lower stomach more and more as the days passed. She lead him to the chamber but then stopped at the door not wanting to go further, not wanting him to see her. Lucy and Peter were with him, that could be enough for him to be happy. He didn't need to spend his time with the lowest of his children.
