Peter had a surprisenly easy time sneaking out of the castle. He made sure to have his sword and a few knives on his person. He made his way over to the stone table, wandering what Lyric wanted and what she was going to tell him. He knew from the expression on her face that this was going to be hard. The king sighed as he sat himself on the stone table. His mind was whirling with thoughts as to why Lyric wanted to meet him here. He frowned, thinking of the possibilites. At last he shook his head, having coming up with nothing. Peter raised his head to stare at the stary night sky.

Lyric walked silently out of the shadows, looking nervously down at her dress. Peter had gotten it for her, saying it was too small for Susan, now. It was beautiful, and fit her perfectly, but it made her a bit nervous, still. She tried to convince herself that was all she was nervous about, but knew it wasn't true. She saw Peter and smiled sadly. She'd probably lose him tonight, but she had to tell him, for his saftey. After what Contar said... She shook her head, not wanting to think about it. Lifting her skirts, she walked up to him, and, taking a deep breath, whispered, "Greetings, my king."

Peter was jerked out of his thoughts by Lyric's arrival. He smiled as he jumped off the table with ease and bowed. "My lady," he said with twinkling eyes. He shifted so that he was now standing in front of her. "I knew that dress would look wonderful on you love," he said with a smile. He kissed her cheek. "What was it that you wanted to tell me?" he inquired.

Her eyes lost their happiness, and she wanted to cry, but didn't. She looked up to the moon for a bit, then back at him, tears in her eyes. "I... Peter... I really, really care about you.. so much..." She wasn't sure how to start. The words just slipped out...

Peter frowned. He could tell she kept something big from him. "Lyric, love, whats wrong?" he was generally worried as he pulled her in his arms. "Whats going on? Lyric please tell me,"

Clinging to him, she felt her entire tremble with each sob. She loved being in his arms. She wondered if she'd ever get to be here again... "Peter... do you love me?" she whispered, looking up into his eyes, "As in... really, truely, undeniably?"

Peter glanced down at her. "Of course," he whispered, generally confused now. "Of course I do Lyric." he had a bad feeling about this for some reason. He just couldn't quite place it. He smoothed her hair. "Just tell me please. I'm on suspense here," he tried to lighten the mood.

Smiling, she stood on her toes to kiss him, then took his hands from around her waist and out them together, her hands wrapped around his, though his were larger. "First of all..." she said, looking up at him with a faint smile, "I love you. With all my heart, and always will, no matter what. You've been too kind to me... but I lied... about Miraz..."

Peter was startled and somewhat confused. "What and why is what I would like to know Lyric," he said softly as he freed one of his hands and stroked her cheek. He slid his fingers underneath her chin and gently lifted her head up. His eyes met hers.

His touch was comforting, but it wrecked her at the same time. She sniffed, trying to hold back tears. What would happen? She could only know if she told the truth. "Peter..." she said, taking a step back to his hand slid off of her cheek, "... I work for Lamont"

If she was anyone Peter would have killed them on the spot. Instead he stared in disbelief at her. "Why-" his voice had stopped working. His eyes were filled with sudden hurt and anger towards Miraz.

She took another step back, feeling ashamed. "I'm so sorry... I should have told you before, but..." She shook her head, biting her lip. "My father was a warrior for him, and when he found out he... forced me to wrok for him. Under harsh conditions... I would have told you earlier Peter, but I... I didn't want to lose you..." She was crying openly now. Instinct told ehr to run, run far away and get lost somewhere and eventually parish in some forest. She felt worthless. Seeing the hurt in his eyes killed her.

When he heard the word 'forced' Peter started to relax but not by much. "At least you didn't work for him out of your own will," he told her. "I still can't believe you didn't tell me sooner," he said with a sigh and covered the distance between them. He wrapped both arms around her and pulled her closer. "Shhh," he whispered. "Shh don't cry Lyric. Lyric look at me, I'll make sure you are well protected and that they won't hurt you anymore." oh what he wouldn't give to stick his sword into Lamont's heart right now. He buried his head on her shoulder.

"Peter..." she gently pushed him away, "My life is irrelevant. We all met, Lamont, our... leader and I. He wanted me to bring you to them, but I refused. They want your life, Peter, not mine. You have a kingdom... me, I... well there's not much to me..." She gave a small smile, wiping at her tears. "I'm a burden and a danger... it's best I leave..."

"You didn't get hurt did you?" he asked softly. He then stiffened as an idea was running through his mind. "I will go to him. I will have to talk to Lamont about....something," he didn't feel like telling her about the dark magic that was going through his body. "And while I'm there I would talk to him for you. I do not like it when people mess with my family or friends and my lover," the king shook his head. "No," he said firmly. "You are not leaving and you are not a burden to me or anyone. You are staying here,"
