"convinced me" Aslan almost laughed as he repeated the king's words. He looked to Lucy and let loose a low growl that seemed to be almost like a purr. She looked to her brother with only fear in her eyes before running away. He knew the girl would not get far before she would be taken to her new hiding place. "I would have a better chance believeing that you would betray me the moment Lucy is free and back in your sister's hands. You must first prove your loyalty to me."

"Another loyalty test," Lamont thought. He had seen others do them before and he shivered at the thought of his own. Always they do something dispicibly horrible that they believe their friends or family would never accept them again. They turn to this Aslan as their only source of support. It was the way this monster's head worked and every time he succed. He watched as Aslan's body tenced, ready to bring the test to Peter and for the first time a voice came into Lamont's mind that could not have been his own, though he knew it was.
"You can't allow him to do this," his mind screamed, "There must be something you can do.

Crap, Peter thought. His mouth went suddenly dry. He cursed himself silently as he watched his sister running. His great plan just went down the drain. Oh bloody hell what did he get himself into now? It was a while before he could find his voice. "L-loyalty?" he managed to croak. He was dead for sure. His mind was coming up with one of his greatest escape plans. He could feel himself shaking. His eyes were full of hurt.

Lyric looked from Peter, to Lamont, to the lion, back to Peter. Loyalty test... not good. She remembered those. She heard Peter's nervousness and gently touched his arm, looking up at him with worry. She didn't know what to say. One word could end it for all three of them...

"If what Lamont tells me is right," The lion began, "then you and the others will be leaving for the islands to the east. You will go with them as a brother and a friend. But when you do you will take them to Dark Isle. On this island nightmares become real and I become stronger. I will wait there for you to bring them to me." He stopped for a moment to let his request to be taken in. He had other plans to bring the rest of the royal family to his new home. But now, things were diffrent. He had the High King at his paws, but should he disobey he could forget about ever keeping his Lyric with him.

Peter kept his face smooth as he listened, his eyes burning with hate and anger. Good try for keeping smooth, he told himself while scowling a bit. He didn't want to bring pain to himself and Susan. But what about Edmund? he wanted to ask but kept the question to himself. He didn't want to think about what would happen to his younger brother. Nor to his older sister. But what would happen to him if they ventured off course for a while, delaying their course from the dark isle. Peter shuddered as he thought of one possible outcome. The king bit down on his lower lip, trying to keep the question "And if I refuse?" from being brought up. "Whatever you say," Peter said in his English accent. His mind was already made up: he would request going to the dark isles, but they would make a little side trip along the way to delay. But Peter could see the gaping hole in the plan.

The task was not as bad as he thought it was. Simply to bring his siblings to him was not a hard challange, Lamont's had been much worse. But with every task there was another assigned, just to ensure the first didn't fail, and if it did all would not be lost. He could see the lion's hawl-like eyes and almost tell what he was thinking. His diabolical mind was becomming increasingly easy for the boy to read. He pushed aside the boy and wrapped his arm around Lyric's waist. With his free hand he locked a powerful grip around her wrist, ensureing she would not escape.
"I will take her with me," He said, "should anything go wrong you can expect a fate worse than death."
