"MY FATHER WAS STRONG!" Caspian bellowed. His hand met Lamont's fist, and he twisted it almost a full three-sixty degrees before letting go. "Your father was just a little worm compared to mine! I migit snake that had to hide behind an elf to do his biding!" he sneered. Caspian swung his foot low at Lamont, trying to sweep him off the ground and make him fall.

Another son who would be strong. She couldn't imagine Aslan would tell her anything otherwise. It would be more than cruel for her to be on his back, running from her enemy while Caspian faced death and have him tell her that her child would be weak, foolish, and vunerable to sickness. He was to kind to tell her other anything else. "Can they give it to me tonight?" She asked remembering the flowers that could let them see each other. She remembered how painful it was to let them leave her the second time, but she wanted to see them more.

"No," Aslan chuckled. "Not tonight. I'm afraid it's a bit bigger then flowers this time." He walked to the castle door, but didn't open it. Instead, he simply walked though with Susan on his back. He was not bound to physical laws, and when Susan was with him, neither was she. "So, tell me your thoughts, young one. How have you been since our last meeting?"

"Happy mostly," She said even happier that she could even say it. "Lamont was gone for a while so I wasn't worried or scared of him. All I had to worry about was what to name little Caspi and whether or not he'll like me. But now that he's back and stronger than before . . . I don't know what to think."

"Then do not think at all." said the Lion. "Let your mind rest a while, and know that I will always come when you call for me." He walked up the stairs with her on his shoulders and stepped into their bedroom. Without letting her off of his back, he walked to Caspian's side table drawer and opened it. From it, he removed two necklaces, one small one for Galen, and one larger one for Susan. "He wanted you to have these." he said, turning around with the jewelry in his mouth for Susan to take. "That's what he wanted his one hour for, so that he could give you these. But it appears that I will have to give them to you instead."

Lamont let him hold his wrist. It didn't even hurt. But he jumped quick after he let go. "Lord Miraz never had to hide behind anyone. It's simply how we do our work. How can he use the words 'my older brother died in his sleep' if he had a sword run through him. But Katrina's spell left no mark. He only used her to make himself innocent." He stepped towards him, swinging his sword no diffrently than a tennis player backhanded a ball, aiming for his chest.

"The same way any coward would do their work. No different." He mocked. But when the sword came, he was a bit to slow. As he stepped back, the tip of it cut through his shirt and he could feel blood running over his skin. He looked down at the wound. It wasn't deep. Just a scratch. But he grimaced. It would only encourage his cousin to see his blood. So he struck out at him, trying to draw blood from Lamont as well.

"It wasn't the way of a coward. For ten years, maybe more, your father was in his grave and people like you were to stupid to think anything diffrent than the story you were given until someone told you. Pathetic realy, that even as a child you never cared about your father enogh to investigate his death. I did and hear I stand."

Susan took the little necklace and wrapped it around Galen's little neck. Had to dismount the great lion and relunctantly put her son on the bed so she could put on her own. She brushed her fingers lightly over the chain. "What is it for?" She felt foolish asking, but it could have been enchanted so he could find her anywhere if he wanted or so it would protect her.

Aslan smiled. "It's a gift from your husband. He said it was a reminder. Look around the edge of the pendant." He pointed with his muzzle. It read: Aslan will not abandon or forsake us. Our trust lies with him. And there was a little carving of the Lion in the center. "And no, it is not the necklace that protects you. What protects you is far deeper than that." he stepped over to the baby and closed his eyes. Galen laughed when Aslan opened one, as if peeking. "Peek a boo!" he purred. This only made Galen laugh more, and he began to play with Aslan's ears. The Lion chuckled, "You are just like your sisters."
"I CARED!" Caspian bellowed at his cousin. "EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE I CARED! YOU ONLY LEARNED THE STORY THAT WAS TOLD TO YOU." he took a breath. He wasn't going to let his anger control him. Not this time. He needed the control. "We never killed your father. The right-hand, whom left with you and your mother, did." He swung at Lamont, stepping forward. But his foot caught a tree root, and he tripped. His face dug into the ground, but his sword didn't touch him. He knew that he wouldn't be able to stand in time for Lamont's next attack, so he swung his sword from where he lay on the ground, aiming for his cousin's feet, and rolled away just enough to kneel.

She smiled but couldn't read the words on her own necklace and read the ones on Galen's. but when he mentioned his sisters she couldn't focus on him. "Are they alright?" She asked, "Happy, at least, I mean." She wanted to know that they were happy, no matter what realm they lived in. But part of her, a cruel and selfish part, wanted to believe they were hurting without her as well. It wasn't that she wished bad fortune on them, just wanted to know they missed her.

"Yes, everyone is happy in Heaven, Susan." Aslan assured her. He pressed his nose against her cheek. "And of course they miss you, but they are happy knowing that they will see you again, one day. Time passes differently in My Country, just as it does from your world to Narnia. They do not wait as long as you think, though for you it is your lifetime."

She sat on her bed taking Galen in her arms. "But when we dreamed them they were older and I was still the same age." For a moment she wondered if they were adults by now. But then again, like he said, time passed diffrently for his world just like England did.

"Because that was the age that made them the happiest." he told her. "Nothing is impossible there. Have you ever wished that you could be a child again? Or wished that you were older?" Aslan asked, though it really wasn't a question meant to be answered. "You must learn not to question so much with logic, and accept simply what is." he told her. Galen tried to play peek-a-boo with him now, covering his eyes and yelling 'Boo!'. Aslan chuckled. "Peek-a-boo."

She looked back to Galen knowing Aslan was right. She smiled as he laughed and then looked out the window. CAspian was still out there. "Is he realy going to die?"
