Aslan's face fell and he followed Susan to the window. "It would be improper of me to tell you that, child." He began, but then seemed to change his mind. "It has been of his own will, but yes, he will die." His voice was grave, but then he spoke again in a more comforting. "It will be alright, Susan. He will be back again. By the next full moon." His eyes moved to the window. "If it helps, he is still alive as of now." he offered.

Her arms tightned around Galen. He was going to leave her, and he chose to do it himself. Whether it was for her protection or not she could not just accept him dieing. Everything shook as she fought the endless urge to run out and save him, no matter the price she had to pay, so long as it wasn't her children. But she couldn't just let him go. "No, you have to go save him." She almost begged. her voice already shook and small tears were beginning to form, "He is your servant, a better one than i could ever be. His will or not you can't just let him die. You have to stop Lamont from killing him. If anyone can it's you. Don't let him die. Please, don't let him die."

"You will see him again." Aslan said, nuzzling her head as a father lion would nuzzle his own cub. "By the next full moon. It is for your own good, and for his. He will be safe, and you will be safe. I can't tell you anymore than that." he promised. "Don't fret, dear one, everything has been planned out and everything must come and pass." He looked into her eyes, Caspian had told him to do so. He said that it would get Susan to listen to him better. "Do not forget that I know the outcome of this entire war, Susan. You will all be safe and all will be well, in time. Do not worry."

"I know, but still . . . " She still did not want to accept him dieing. Whether she would see him again later or not. He told her about when she died because of the trap Katrina laid out for her. He told her about how horrible it was. she didn't want to know that horror, or that pain. To say the bery least the previous full moon passed not to long ago. Three and a half weeks stood between then and the time she would see him again. "Isn't there something you could do now?"

"Simply wait for him to die." he said, sitting down on the ground now. His wise eyes cast to the window, watching far beyond what any human or earthly creature could see. He could stare right through the trees, and watch the battle as if he sat just beside Caspian and Lamont, though he was in the castle.

Lamont laughed as he fell. "Your just as bad a fighter as your dad. No wonder you had Peter fight Miraz instead of you. You would have lost in a heartbeat." He laughed again knowing he would win as he jumped over his sword. "Do me a favor and scream for me so that Susan can know this fight is over and she can stop worrying. I'd hate to think my poor wife is in distress over this."

Caspian bit his tongue and looked up at Lamont, waiting for the blade to fall. There was nothing he could do now. His life was over. But he wouldn't scream. He wouldn't put Susan through that misery of hearing his dieing gasps. His eyes looked up at Lamont. "Not man enough to take a life?" he jeered, just as he uncle had done to Peter when he had been in the same position.

"not by any means," lamont laughed. He had won. No questions, no doubts. He won and now susan was his to do with as she pleased. "but your not scared enough to die just yet. I could kill you now, no problem, but where's the fun in that?" he raised his sword, point down, and pressed it against his spine just below his neck. When he could see deep red drops of blood forming around his blade he drew it across his back keeping the same pressure and smiling at the sight of the blood. If he hAd to torture his prisioner to get him to scream then he would. Gladly.

Caspian clenched his teeth, but no amount of that would suppress his painful yelp. He growled as the sword ran along his back, and he dare not move lest he tear the wound and make it worse. "We did not torture your father." grumbled the King angrily. "Vile snake." he spat. Caspian just wanted to get this over with. Dying wasn't exactly the most enjoyable thing on his list. Yes, it scared him. It scared everyone. But Aslan, he knew, waited for him. Yet it seemed that his cousin would only prolong his suffering, and give Caspian a painful death. He bowed his head against the dirt, not wanting to look at Lamont. he left his neck open, available for a quick swing, if he was kind enough.

"No, maybe not," He laughed at the pain in his voice. He was hurting, just not enough. "Maybe that was a mistake of yours. You should have mad him pay of all the things he did if he was a horrible as you said. But you forget, I am not you." He leaned down to the cut along his spine. He wasn't an idiot, he could see the skin of his neck begging him to slice him there and get it over with. But he wasn't done yet. He tore the skin, not along his spine like before but his back. And he didn't use his sword this time either. this wasn't a sergon's work that needed percision and sterility. he used his hands, digging his nails under his flesh and pulling it like it was a piece of leather. The skin tore with a faint ripping sound and severed veins splattered across Lamont's clothes and skin. He was still waiting for a scream.

NOW Caspian screamed. There was no mortal way that he couldn't. His yell echoed through the trees, and probably the whole world. Tears met his eyes and fell. He clamped his trembling hand over his mouth, as if it might stop the sound from reaching Susan's ears, but it was too late. Everyone had heard that scream. Nerves began to shut down, and he could no longer feel or move certain parts of his body. Yet the King writhed in pain, like a worm on hook.

Lamont could only smile. Some strange joy he couldn't understand was growing inside him, taking over his body. His greatest enemy was writhing in front of him, helpless and dieing. The sound of his scream did not only make him pleased in his victory, it was his drug and he wanted more of it. He put one hand heavily on his spine just beside a rib and put enough pressure to at least make him wince. It wasn't what he was going to hurt him with though. Wanting only to hear him screaming again he slid his hands past were his skin should have blocked him. He could feel the rapid movement of his lungs against his fingers as the previous king pandted for the air lost in the blood Lamont stole from him. He took hold of what he wanted, the rib beside his hand, and pulled with every strength he had. The bone snapped at the spine, probably damaging the spinal cord as it did, and at the sternum. As he extracted his prize he could feel his other organs sloshing around inside him as they made room for the bone. Lamont laughed as he looked at his bloody piece of ivory. "And God took two ribs from Adam," He quoted as best he could as he moved to the other side to start the process over again, "And gave them to Eve. I'll make certain Susan gets these from you."

Caspian screamed again, and this time could not stop. The snapping of his bones and the agony made him want to vomit, and the heaving of his stomach only pained him all the more. His ears were splitting with sound of his own voice, loud enough to deafen a dog. He was paralyzed now, and could not move. Only scream and lay there helplessly as he waited for his death of blood loss, seeing as it would not come from the blade of a sword. Managing to form words through his yelping and heaving, he cursed Lamont, though the words were only faint and barely audible past his cries.

Susan's head snapped up at the sound. He was hurting, dying now doubt. She thew herself on the bed, her face already soaked with tears, and wrapped her arms around Galen. He was gone.

Lamont continued to laugh wondering if Cotnar was watching his victory. What else could he do. Somehow he was still alive, so he would keep having his childish fun. He took a thin, pointed stick and poked his heart, still beating under his ribs. Then he had his idea that would end him in moments or not at all. Both of his hands he plunged into his back and took hold of his lungs. With one in each hand he squeezed hard and listened as his breath came short.
