She nodded as she heard his request. It was a strange enough thought to believe that something as simple as a kiss would cause her to understand why he was foolish enough to love her. She would do it, would agree soley because it would be more than cruel to deny a dieing wish, though she had no intention of going further with him. But to let him believe that she loved him before he died, perhaps it was kind enough.

He stepped towards her slowly, his heart beating strong. Kioh had waited all his life for this moment. Had lived for it. And now, with the end of his life drawing so near, he could finally kiss her. Hear her say that she loved him. Maybe, with that kiss, let her feel the spark between them that he had felt his whole life. The spark that flowed through his very veins like electricity.
Softly and slowly he stroked her cheek, his other hand rested on her lower back, his fingers trembling. He leaned her back gently, as if they had just been dancing, and it was the end of some sort of tango. His hands supported her entire body with ease. With love.
Kioh's lips met hers with kindness and gentle passion, his heart beating as loudly as the hooves of a thoroughbreed steed, his blood racing just as fast. Kissing her was everything that he ever imagined it would be. And more. It was as if he were kissing an angel of Aslan's Country, probably because he was. His tongue came romantically into her mouth, though with respect. Lovingly, yet careful, as if she might break. Passionate, yet humble, because he loved and cared about her. Confident and happy, because he would never kiss her again. This was the only kiss he would ever be allowed to give her. The only kiss she would give him time for. He had his death to meet, though he tried not to think about it. All that mattered was right here. Right now. With her. Living whatever was left of his life to the fullest. Knowing that it was the last time he would ever he happy.
Without her, he would never smile. Never, not even in His Country, could Kioh be happy. He had failed her. Could never, in his death, be hopeful of winning her love. Not when they were separated my worlds. He would be watching her, day by day, minute by minute, her sweet face a reminder to him of what he couldn't accomplish. And so, without Katrina, even complete Paradise would be miserable. But, he tried to push the thoughts from his mind as best he could. Let the unhappiness come when he was dead.
Right now, the touch of her lips pushed enough joy through him to make him explode. His heart felt as if it might burst with happiness. He turned his head as he kissed her, every muscle trying to bring pleasure to her lips. To let her see that they were meant to be together. Never before had the spark been so strong as now. It almost took his breath away as it pulsed within his very soul. His fingers ran through her long, beautiful hair, though her head stay supported by him. Gently, his palms let her go. But Katrina wouldn't fall. Instead, she stay suspended in the air, practically weightless. Gravity itself could not touch her. It was Kioh's spell. His lips still soft and gentle upon hers, he took her in his arms again. He moved from her lips to her jaw, and then her neck. Always soft, always respectful, always doing his best to please her. She had to know that she wasn't alone in the world. That his love for her wasn't a joke. It was as real as the sun and the stars and the moon. She had to know that he loved her with all of his being. She had to know just why he was dying for her. Because she wanted his death. Kioh himself was terrified, but he would do it for her. Would do anything for her. As he made clear in his kiss. And with the softest touch to her lips again, he forced himself to stop. He could kiss her forever, if he had it his way. But he couldn't do that to her. She would hate him more than she already did. But he was a good kisser, to say the least.
Kioh looked into her eyes as he carefully pulled her back onto her feet. "I love you, Katrina. Don't ever doubt it. I love you more than life. More than anything." One final tear fell from his cheek. His hand extended to hers, but he stopped before he touched her, drawing his hand back. That wasn't part of his wish, to hold her hand. Though now he wished he had asked. But he didn't want to ask for too much. He didn't even deserve to have kissed her. He wondered if she would still tell him that she loved him. If she still wanted to.

She shuddered for just an instant when his fingers touched her but it calmed when she realized he was trembling as well. With his body so close to him she could hear his heart beating louder than anything she had heard. She felt herself inhale when he stroked her cheek and again when he kissed her. She wanted to at least pretend to be romantic for him, to close her eyes slowly or something. But when she felt him she moved, not away but towards him. Her body pressed against his, her heart, though not racing as fast as his, seemed incredibly close. A hand reached up and rested on his shoulder while the other tangled slowly in his short hair. When he moved from her lips she sighed, almost as if relieved that he had done what he did. When at last he stopped she looked up at him, her eyes fluttering for a moment as her eyes focused. She listened to him in silence knowing what she had to tell him, but when the time came her voice stopped, just for a moment before she could speak again. "I . . ." She still choked on the words though, "I love you to." Then something in her failed at the sound of the words and her knees gave way letting her fall into his arms. She knew he would catch her, knew he would be safe in them.

Kioh caught her instantly, though he was speechless. Hearing those words made his life worth living. Kissing her, and she kissing him back, oh.... it was indescribable. It gave him pride and happiness and joy to have her react to him the way she did. A passion and love so strong that the emotion of it had never been known to any creature. Not until now. And with her in his arms, he held her closely, looking over her body slowly with eyes, searching for any kind of wound that would have made her fall. She looked alright to him. As beautiful as she had ever looked. Not a scratch on her pretty skin. When finally his words came back to him, he spoke. "Are you alright?" Kioh asked her sweetly, his voice quiet. She had scared him when she fell, though he knew that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. He couldn't. And so he sat on the ground with her in his arms, too scared to move her in the case that something was wrong with her legs. Kioh put a hand to her forehead, checking for an illness, though his fingers proceeded to stroke her hair softly. To stroke her eyes and her face slowly and gently. "Are you alright?" he asked again. Kioh couldn't say that he was. With every time that he touched her, shocks pricked at his skin and flowed through his body. Currents of electricity beyond any physical chemistry. This was chemistry created solely by love. It was love. It was the spark. But, this not being alright made him all the happier. He had known this feeling all his life since he had first seen her. He had lived his entire life with it in his veins, and he would die with it there. He wanted to kiss her again, but refrained. First and foremost, he wanted to know that she was alright. Wanted to respect her. And with that, he had to respect her wishes. Oh, but if she wished to kiss him.... what was he thinking? She would never... and yet, Kioh hoped. So long as he was alive, he would hope. It was all he had. Though most hopes never came, he didn't care. Hoping made him happy. Kept his heart beating for what small amount of beats it would have left. Before the night's end, it would beat no more. So why stop it now? He smiled down at her. "Please be alright." he pleaded, still petting her. Still being shocked.

She opened her eyes, the world becoming real again around her. Somehow a smile came to her as she realized he was there. She knew he would be but for some reason the smile still came. She nodded that she was unharmed, the only thing she could do to reasure him. His hand was still against her face and she held it there saforing the softness of his touch. It was not Caspian, but it was comforting.

Her smile lit up the room. And his heart. She really did smile! She didn't push him away! Didn't cry! Didn't curve her fingers! Didn't ask him not to touch her! She smiled. Kioh smiled back at her as always, still caressing her face. That's when her hand came, holding his there against her skin. Kioh stopped breathing, mostly because he forgot how to move his lungs. He wanted to pee his pants, though he wouldn't, of course. And yet another smile! It seemed that his last day was his luckiest. He opened his mouth, though no words came. It seemed that he had forgotten how to talk. He was left speechless. He didn't know if it was possible to happier than he was that moment. And he stayed there, on the floor, with her in his arms. If she wanted to stand, all she had to do was ask him, and he would lift her. But until then, he was just happy where he was, with his hand in hers against her cheek.

It took her a moment of lying there for her to speak. She smiled as she watched him, almost laughing even. It had been to long since she did. "I don't love you," She admitted truthfully knowing he wouldn't like the sound of it, "I may never actualy love you like I do Caspian. And now . . . now that I think about it I may never love anyone like him ever." Something in her told her that he was going to say something, whether it was true or not she couldn't tell, but she brought to fingers to his lips to silence him in case he did. "But this dose show me something, something I never understood before because I wouldn't let myself. You love me. Obvious enough I'll admit now but I didn't want to then. Every time you said it I hated you more and now I realize it's because I thought you were trying to claim Caspian's territory. But you helped me know for certain that I am not his. I always knew he wanted Susan and I still want him. But I'm not bound to him like I was before. Every word is not infoulable, every action is not justifyable, everything he did to me is not what I deserve. I can still want him, long for him like before, but now I can always change my mind if I want." She took her hand from his lips and placed it gently on the back of his head. The action was unplaned and almost frightening to her that she had even done it, but she knew it was perfect enough to give at least some gratitude for what he had given her: freedom. The least she could do is give him this moment of joy. She pulled herself up and her lips met his once more just as before. She knew he would do the rest.

His heart sunk when she told him that she didn't love him. His lips frowned, and sorrow returned. He knew that she didn't love him. She didn't have to tell him so. He knew it. Oh, how he knew it. But hearing her say that she did had made him so happy, he had hoped to die with it in his ears. With hope that it might be true. Or at least pretend that it was. But to hear her say the obvious, that she didn't love him, it hurt him. Deeply. Now, he couldn't even pretend.
But as she pressed her fingers to his lips, he listened to her. He wouldn't tell her how sad he was now. The sudden spin from happiness to sorrow... it was like whiplash. No, worse. It truely was a whip lash, like a lion-tamer striking a gentle beast. He was no lion. Was no threat to her. Would never be, and yet... she hurt him. But it didn't matter to Kioh how many times she did. He always loved her, always would. Each time she hurt him, the wound would simply scar over and he would heal. With her still in his arms, the wound was only momentary. Sure, he couldn't try to believe that she loved him anymore, even with that, Katrina was kinder to him now that she ever had been. She didn't flee from his touch, didn't look away when he told her that he loved her, didn't bend her fingers in anger, and didn't raise her wand at him. Kioh, even with the long lifespan that he would have had, could have only dreamed of such a happening.
He listened to her with loving attention as she spoke, softly kissing the fingers that were pressed over his mouth. "Then, my Love," he spoke when the hand moved behind his head, almost taking away his words when he realized that she was actually going to kiss him, "Even though I may not have the joy of calling you my lover, I am forever honored to have had the pleasure to do you one last favor." And then her lips met his, and his voice was gone again.
He wrapped his arms around her tightly, slowly moving over her back and shoulders as he lips so softly kissed hers. Her kisses were like wine, sweeter and more delicious and tasteful than anything else. They wiped away all the bad in the world. Anything that he had ever felt that was painful to him was gone with a simple touch from her lips. Again his tongue came for her. With even greater respect as before. Greater love. Greater passion. Greater care. Greater humbleness. If all were possible. He didn't want to let go. Didn't want to stop kissing her. Didn't want to die.

She smiled under his lips. For the first time in a long time she was happy. Not pretending for Caspian, not hiding from the world. She really was happy with him, here, like this. Maybe it was his love for her that made her want to be with him like this, maybe she liked him just enough. This feeling here wasn't the same as it was with Caspian, but it was close, pleasurable even. she could stay like this, just a little longer. There was nothing there to make her stop.

He opened his eyes for a moment, watching her pretty face with love. She was the best thing that ever happened to him. If he was going to die, he was it was for her. He wouldn't have it any other way. When finally he had to breathe, he stopped. He didn't want to, but he didn't want to suffocate her or himself.
"Katrina," he said softly, kissing her cheek. "If you still want me dead, you're going to have to tell me. I'll go when you ask, but I don't think I possess the ability to go of my own will. Every moment I'm next to you holds me here. Every kiss..." he could barely finish his words. "You take all my pain away with those kisses. Anything that ever hurt me... goes away when I'm with you." He softly caressed her face again, looking into her eyes with wonder. With love. "When I die, that's not going to happen. I will watch you, day by day, knowing that I have failed you. Knowing that I couldn't win your heart. Knowing that I never will. When we are worlds are apart, I have not even hope to comfort me. When I, with any luck, make it to His Country, I will be miserable without you. Even Paradise is not enjoyable without you by my side." He stopped a moment, letting the sorrow leave him. She was here. She was with him. He wasn't sad. "I know that you might never love me as I love you, but just to be your friend and live in hope would be enough for me. I know I've hurt you, and words can never describe to you how deeply apologetic I am for that. If you still want me dead, I can understand it. Tell me, and I will go."

"No," She said wondering if she was ever actualy going to go through with it. After showing her only kindness, making a new wand for her, could she ever try to kill him. The spell she used before would hurt him, but couldn't kill her. "No, I don't think I'll kill you. I don't know if I could have done it anyway. But, if anything, after this, what you've given me, it wouldn't be right to kill you. No, you live. For better or worse"

"Thank you, sweet Katy." he said. But he didn't want her to feel that.... Just because he had given her her wedding gifts... They were meant to show her how much he loved her, not save his life. But still, he wasn't about to argue. He was in love with her, she was giving him another chance, and he had his whole elven life ahead of him. He put his arm around her shoulder, his joy showing through in one goofy smile. "Thank you, Katy." he whispered, his happiness almost choking him. But he could breathe, no worries. He gave her one last kiss, knowing that she might stop wanting to kiss him soon. Maybe. With any luck, maybe not. "Friends?"

"Friends," She agreed able to say it truthfully. It was good to have at least one. But in truth, he was the only one. "You know, I haven't really thought about it but I do need to have an apprentice. Someone dose need to carry on wand-wielding since I don't actually know where my master is. But I could be yours for a while and you could make your own wand like you did before. I could teach you spells and we could help fight this war together. That is, if you want to."

"Katrina, I would be honored." he said, standing and bowing to her. And with that, he took her by the hand and pulled her up. "That reminds me. We still have that Phoenix Stone to finish. It's still in the cauldron." He opened the door for her, only to find that night had fallen upon them. But that didn't matter. He had said that he would help her, and he would.

"Oh, right, that silly thing." She almost laughed when she remembered the stone. She imagined the pheonix had flown away by now. She imagined it was ready for her by now. When she reached it the stone was bright red, redder than it was supposed to be. she added the water in anyway and it burst, pieces of blazing hot stone scattering from the cauldron from the blast. Normaly it wouldn't but the added head caused it. A piece had caught her arm and she jumped away, but it didn't hurt to badly. "Aguamenti" She said as a few stray shards caught the grass on fire and a jet of water put it out. She put in the extra water and put her wand in the water and stirred counterclockwise. "You'll have to remember that by the way." She told him.
