Anna laughed. "We could, if you wanted to." she chuckled. But instead, she stepped out of the room. One early present wouldn't hurt. "Wait here." she said, and came back with a pretty wrapped box in her talons. "This is for you, but it's the only one that I'll let you open early. You have to wait for the rest." Anna smiled, setting it down in front of Nicole. "Merry Christmas."

Nicole sighed she knew what was coming that was the bad part of mind reading no surprises. But strangely Nicole didn't feel like looking. She knew that she was getting a gift but she didn't want to know what it was she was content in opening it. "Hey Anna can we spend Christmas together too? I really like your company. I hope it wouldn't be a problem but maybe Devon could come too." she said as she opened the pretty box.

"Of course we can spend Christmas together!" Anna told her. "Devon can come too," she said, just because it was Christmas though. Any other circumstance she would have said no. "But I get to search him first. No weapons allowed, and he can't wear that little necklace thing that gives him powers. But yes, Devon can come." Anna smiled, hoping Nicole would like her answer. She watched as the child opened the gift, wondering if she might like it too.

Nicole smiled when Anna said yes this would be the best Christmas ever!!!!! Nicole opened the gift with passion now she was excited. She opened it to reveal a small blue diary that had a small heart shaped lock and a key. There was something strange about it though, it had to key parts that looked like they had to be opened together. "Anna, this lock has two key parts."she said amuzed.
(i thought of it out of nowhere. The diary is suppossed to be shared by two people. the two have to put there keys in at the same time.)

Anna tilted the box upside down, the second key part sliding into her paws. "Here it is." she told her. "You keep one part of the key, and give the second half to somebody else. Then the diary will open and you can write together." She smiled, happy that Nicole liked it. "Merry Christmas." she said again.

"Oh thank you Anna!" she said hugging her. "But i would like you to keep the second key i couldn't think of anyone else to right with. Your my best friend." she said letting go. Nicole was so happy she new Anna, she cared for her as if she was her own sister.

Anna smiled. "You're welcome." she said. "And I'd be honored to have the second key." she slipped it around her head. The griffin took a cookie off the tray and looked into the fire again, but only for a moment. "What should we do now?" she asked, running out of ideas. They could go back to the ball if they wanted, or hang out here. It didn't matter to Anna, but she didn't like the silence.

Anna smiled and walked quickly out of the burrow, crouching down so that Nicole could get on. "You don't think that your brother is still there, do you? Or Cotnar?" she asked. But she couldn't help but conclude that if Cotnar hadn't found them yet, he wasn't out to get them today.

Nicole got on Anna. "I don't think so, my brother is a lot of things but he isn't a lier." nicole said. She was ready to fly it was always fun. now that her fear was gone.

"Alright." she said, taking to the air again and spreading her wings. They quickly rose into the sky, far above the forest. "What are you planning on asking for?" Anna inquired for conversation.

Anna nodded. It was hard to think of something to ask for. She knew this from when she was a kid. The air blew past her face softly, and the lion-bird closed her eyes for a moment. She loved flying. To her, it was the greatest thing in the world.

Nicole enjoyed the air in her face. She even put her hands out in the air, she knew anna wouldn't drop her. Nicole felt free when she was in the air it was about as free as she could ever get. That's when it hit her she knew what she wanted. This would be the best thing she would get yet. She would ask Caspian for it personaly.

Anna looked up at Nicole and smiled when she saw her hands in the air. The griffin suddenly rolled over in the air, and then back to her normal flight form again. She laughed childishly. She had hoped to catch Nicole by surprise.
