As they walked towards the bakery, Len closed her eyes taking in the amazing aroma of sweets and freshly baked goods.

Damian smiled. He liked this little town, and only now did he realize how much he truly missed it. Beside the bakery lie countless other restaurants and stores. Candy shops, herbs and spices, children's toys, and clothing shops all lined in a row. Horses pranced through the streets and around the people, and some little children even ran between their legs. But the horses didn't seem to mind. They were so used to people that it was a miracle that they didn't walk on two legs. "What do you think of our little town?" he asked. Damian still had a few more places to show her, and walked slowly down the side of the road, peeking in the shop windows to see if anything had changed.

Len smiled as she walked. "It is wonderful" She said enjoying every sight. "Thanks for showing me around" She never been to such a lovely town. It had a very homey feeling.

"You're welcome." Damian answered her. He was glad that she liked the town. It might make up for the embarrassment that she suffered from his father. Dami wouldn't forget it, and would be sure to get Frank back when he had the chance. He laughed slightly and looked into the coffee shop window and read the sign, becoming a little lost in thought.
A man in the crowd was walking towards them. Damian paid no attention, but he soon would. The new face stopped when it came to them, and looked at Len.
Damian turned back, only to see the strange man in front of them. Every muscle in his body tensed, his jaw clenched in anger. He knew this person. But the Fire Spirit only glanced Damian's way and then ignored him.
He looked at Len again, "Hey Sexy." he said, whacking her on the backside and circling around her, glancing at her up and down and nodding in approval.
Damian's fist flew, knocking the man's chin hard and sending him flat on his back. His nose bled, but Damain didn't care. His sword was to the man's throat, he hadn't even felt his fingers draw the hilt from his belt. "Leave her alone." he growled. "She's with me. Let's not fight here, hm?" indeed, children were turning their heads. Damian sheathed his sword, leaving the bloody-nosed man on the ground to stare after them. His pace was faster than a horse's, and he made sure that Len kept up with him. "That's Darroc." he explained. "Kind of like the town bully, to put it lightly. He's been in and out of prison a few times, but they can never really prove that he did a crime, and he gets out." Damian told her. Len deserved an explanation after that. "Best stay away from him."
(Thought it was getting a little down, so I thought I might throw somethin in there to get things going. lol.)

Len watched the man is disgust. Her hands were on her hips. She was about to say something when Damian took care of him. She followed Damian. "Figures" She said wondering if there were anymore. Usually bully's had a gang of some kind.

Damian shook his head, still seething. He turned to make sure that the fat bastard wasn't following them, before shrugging his shoulders and trying to rid himself of his anger. "This is the blacksmith's shop." he pointed. He knew that Len might like this place, so he brought her a little closer to it so that they could see the items hanging in the windows. "We can go in if you like."

"Yes" Len said glad for a change. She didn't want to think about the incident earlier. She smiled taking in the smells of the blacksmith. The metals and fire.

"These are the best crafted swords that you'll find made by our people. We mold the blade ourselves, quite literally. Every inch is sharp and complete. See the carvings at the handle? That's the signature of a Fire Spirit." Damian said proudly. He touched one of the swords hanging on the wall. "Have you ever watched a Fire Spirit make a sword?" he asked her.

Len shook her head. "Never watched" She said. She loved the smell of embers and metal.

"Well, come and see." he said, leading her to the back room. Here, the blacksmith was always making new combat equipment, especially for military practice. The old man was lounging in a chair, waiting for a shield to cool down enough to decorate. "Hey Sam." Damian greeted him. The man raised his hand in hello. "How's about you make a sword next?" Dami asked. "My friend is visiting and she wants to see how it's done." he gave a little wink, and Sam shot right out of his chair with a smile on his face and gave a thumbs up. "Sam is mute." Damian explained.

Len nodded as she watched Sam work. It was amazing to see a master at work when he wasn't under any pressure, and enjoying his work.

Sam drug a piece of iron out from a crate, and tossed it into the fireplace, where surprising to other folk, no fire was lit. Before it hit the ground, Sam leaped for it, he himself becoming the fire. He seemed to dance around it, and slowly but surely, the shape of a sword began to appear.
Damian watched and clapped in approval. There were often contests and parties in the village. It was a sport to see who could make the best weaponry. But there could be only one master blacksmith, and that was Sam. He looked over to Len, wondering what she thought of it all. "What d'you think?" he asked.

Len's eyes widened as she watched. "That was amazing" She had never seen the work perfected to an art. "I've never seen anything like that" She couldn't truly describe what she saw in words it was unlike anything she'd seen.

Damian smiled. "Another pride of our people." he told her. He watched for a while before Sam came quickly out of the fireplace and set the sword down next to the cooling shield. He waved something to Damian. "Sam wants to know if you've ever seen one made so fast." he chuckled. The Blacksmith was always proud and boasting about his work, even without a voice.
