Of course he was to protect her. The humans were inseperable, as always. But soon he would find a way to make it their downfall. He flared his nostrils and his shape changed to his standard dragon-tailed chemira. He looked to Lamont as silent thoughts passed between their eyes. "Of course we always believe we are stronger when in truth weakness has come. Let her go and try your hand at my strength and we shall see who will last the longest.

Lamont's eyes met with the master's and the message was passed and he looked to where Caspian held his wife. "How dare you, bastard!" He roared as he watched. He could see the way Caspian defended her, his hand over her stomach. He expected something to be there, something worth protecting. Lamont had been careful to keep Susan heavily drugged to prevent her bearing another child, but he could say nothing to the times she was beyond his reach, however rare they were. But there could have been a moment, maybe only seconds in length where he had been able to slip between the drug's layer of protection. "Take my wife into your own arms and defile her. How dare you. And you call me savage. Bastard is all you are. A whore and a bastard. And you, Susan, don't you dare deny it. Tell me now, what did you do?"

How dare he speak to Caspian as he did. Any moment she expected Caspian to throw himself at the boy, just as he had done to the servant. But when he adressed her she felt burning inside her again. Without her approval she spoke. "I went to Caspian nights ago and while we were together and alone we made love in hopes of having a child." She cried as the words spilled past her lips. with every ounce of her strength she had tried to keep herself silent but in the end had failed and now she was left empty and she fell limp against his side.

Caspian merely growled at Lamont. He wouldn't make the mistake of trying to fight both of them at once, and trying to protect Susan at the same time. He held his wife tightly, supporting her and helping her to stand. "Savage?" Caspian almost laughed. "No. It's called love, something that you will never know." He moved his arm, so that his shield covered her completely. Caspian's eyes flicked from Lamont to Cotnar. What now? Would they honestly pick a fight? Again? It was getting old. Surely, Caspian and Susan would win this time. Cotnar and Lamont were outnumbered, and he had a feeling that more would be coming to Narnia's aid at the blow of the horn. "I love you." he whispered to her. He looked into the oasis, and noticed that the weapons that he had thrown in there were gone. "When I say so, do as I say." he said, and said no more.

She nodded as he covered her. She didn't like him standing in front of her, taking every blow meant for her and for himself as well. She feared the day when he could take no more. But she would follow him and trust he knew what he was doing. He was much better off than she was, but still she was afraid he might try something that could get him killed. "Be careful," She whispered back, "a son needs a father." and her hand went over her still flat stomach where Aslan had told her a child was forming.

Nicole stopped her attack as the dragon transformed infront of her. "What trickery is this?" is all she could say when a fimiliar yet deadly name came into the picture. Had she heard right? Had the king himself just say that the young boy's name was lamont? Lamont had been the one her only brother had slain her parents for. This battle was becoming more interesting every second. Nicole noticed how Caspian was so protective of Susan but it was to be expected because she was rightfully his wife. Something caught her eye though the way Susan held her hand to her stomach. "She must be with child!" nicole thought to herself she could feel how deeply Caspian had wanted to protect her. Then Susan herself announced what Nicole had just realized infront of the enemy. "What could she possibly be doing?! To tell the enemy this is like telling them to go after her harder." thought Nicole watching this scene play out before her. No matter what though she swore to herself at this very moment that no matter what she wouldn't let the king or the queen be hurt by this boy who had made her life so misrable by making her brother slay her family. "Oh great and rightful king of Narnia let me help you fight and save the one you love." she said aloud hoping caspian would believe her words. Nicole stepped on the battlefield, sword still in hand over to were Susan and Caspian would need her the most.

The lion's ears could hear her all to well. A son. Another child of Susan's. But which would be the son that his father spoke of before his death. The only way to be certain was to ensure that Susan had only one son and nothing more. Another child meant another threat. Should he have chosen the wrong child to hunt then an even greater darkness would befall the land. Galen had already survived by Lennia's magic, as he expected, and that was all he would allow to live. This child must die! He roared to the sky and sent fire to the sky from his tail as he did. And then he leaped at Caspian's shield knowing he had the strength to plow through it without harm.

Caspian turned swiftly, allowing the chimera to collide with the sand. "Help as you please!" he said to the girl. The other man was still standing with his blades over Lamont, and Caspian was protecting Susan. He knew his path to escape. Something pulled at him, leading him there. But he wouldn't go just yet. He held his wife tightly, and his eyes could not stop turning from Lamont to Cotnar. Caspian thrust his sword to the beast that lay on the ground, and retreated, guarding Susan again. The hit-and-run technique wasn't his favorite, but it was his only choice for now.

Nicole watched as the creature lunged at Caspian his shield ringing as the beast hit. Caspian tried to stike but jumped back fearing for Susan. Nicole charged and swung at the beast the tip of her sword thrusted into the creatures chest. She knew exactly what Caspian was thnking trying to protect Susan and finding a path to escape were both difficult in the least. "Caspian, ill try and hold him off as much as ican you should probably get Susan out of here." she hadn't ment it as a order but Caspian at least should know that she was right, it was dangerous to keep Susan in something like this. THen a thought came to her head"What if Caspian doesn't believe me" she had no time to think of petty thoughts she pulled her sword out of the beast and jumped back waiting for the beast to attack.

Cotnar roared and his tail blew fire again and he changed his form. Now he was not one creature, but a collection of them. From his back sprouted the white wings of pegasus. Part of his torso was like that of a tiger but his neck and head was all lion complete with Aslan's golden mane. His rear was the dappled legs and hooves of a hippogryph. Behind him was the blood-red, arrow-throwing tail of the manticore. The great horns of a minotaur curved from the upper sides of his forehead and between them a unicorn's horn, several feet in length, spiraled forward. From between the lion's fangs he spit a jet of fire towards Caspian as he leaped forward again, knocking the swordswoman aside with his great horns. He would have Susan, no matter how they fought.

Nicole grunted as she was pushed aside by the beasts great horns. She would not be defeated so easily using her sword she swung around kicking the beast in the side before it had time to reach Caspian. She grunted hitting the beast felt like she was trying to hit a brick wall but she pushed harder knocking the beast out of the way. If she couldn't stop this beast how could she ever stand up to her brother? She took a deep breath letting the beasts thoughts overflow her, she would protect the king and queen.

Susan ducked instinctivly as the monster changed and came for her again. When she realized it would not meet her she stood and looked around her. There was no place for her to run to withouth being captured, providing she had the strength to run far. The child had weakened her, but not durasticly. Not yet. No one would have even known she was with child if Caspian hadn't put his hand over his son. For the first time his protection was their downfall. Now there was no chance they would be allowed to live. Either she would feel the blade pierce her stomach again or she would die first and the child would come with her. "How can we win this time?"

"Like this." Caspian said, grabbing his wife around her waist. "Hold tight and do as I say." He demanded. "Hold your breath." and he leapt with her into the oasis. He sank to the bottom will all of his armor, and touched the center of the pool. Then they were gone. Gone from the oasis, gone from the desert. Gone from Lamont, and gone from Cotnar. . .

The beast roared and he willed his body to change once more as gills sprouted on his neck before he jumped into the water after them. His tiger paws scrambled and his horse legs kicked, but he made hardly any progress until the shape of the shark coated him. then with snake-like speed he came after them, opening his jaws ready to take his kill. But when they closed with a mechanical snap audible even underwater he knew he had somehow missed his target. he did not see them through the murkiness of the desert lake, nor could he smell their blood. Where had they gone?

Nicole just watched as Caspian and Susan jumped into the oasis. THe beast jumped in after them causing water to hit nicole in the face. THis was turnig out to be a wonderful day first she finds the king and queen only to go into a battle she wasn't prepaired for and now she was soaked. She ran to the edge of the oasis about to dive in after them when the beast surfaced and lunged at her she jumped back using her sword to support her weight. "What had happened to the King and queen?!" she thought but that was the least of her worries. " I can't take much more of this." she thought as her legs gave out. the beast had made it's way to shore.
