Len turned her head. "What set up. The child is under my care and I do not see fit for him to be in the hands of the King. He is not fit to take care of a child and a kingdom" She said knowing if the maid did as she was told would have taken the child far away by now. She smiled wondering what reaction the king would have.

She stirred for a moment as Devon woke her not wanting to wake. For once her dreams were silent, not horrible, yet not an impossible paradise. The land was dark and only the dancing shadows of the fire, chased away by it's light were there to keep her company. "Did something happen?" She asked still half asleep as she looked around, nearly screaming at what she saw. She backed away for a moment before reaching in the folds of her dress to fulfill her promise to Caspian. Lamont had come, for reasons she did not know, but she never cared. Whatever it was it was not something she wanted him to have. She raised the ivory horn to her lips and tilted her head to the blackened sky and blew with all of her strength. A note sounded through the open end of the mouth of the lion carved into the horn and echoed over the land. For an instant she heard or saw no change and she blew again, holding the note until no air remained in her lungs and she thought she would die should she continue. Now all she could do was wait and hope.

Caspian had been waiting at the Castle Gates, waiting for the blow. He would not leave or do anything until she called for him. He had given Galen to a trusted maiden who had taken care of him as a child. She was old and wise, and had grandchildren of her own now that were Galen's age, so his son was playing with them while his father sat upon the steps before the mighty Castle. Then his heart stopped. The note. He had heard it. Twice. He rose to his feet, dressed fully in armor. His sword at his waist, a helmet upon his head, his sheild in his hand, and plated armor covered chain mail over his body. Even his feet were covered, and Caspian looked as if he were going out to battle. He began to run, but before he knew it, he felt a pull at his stomach. The ground disappeared from under his feet, and there was nothing. Not even air. The next moment, he was bursting through the sand, sending clouds of it flying. He was at Susan's side, and he put an arm around her. Caspian didn't know what just happened, but he marked it as magic. It must be. The King drew his sword, guarding his wife. "Lamont." he spat.

Lamont drew his sword as well at the sound of the horn. He should not have been foolish enough to think that she would leave his side without it. But this had been the first time she used it, but not likely the last. "Caspian," he returned raising the blade, "of course it is you who comes. The cowardly queen never fends for herself anymore. There is no glory for the king and queens of old anymore is there? No, her legesy exists now throug her service to me and her hiding behind you."

"Stifle your forked-tongue, cousin." Caspian growled. He lashed out at the boy, and then returned quickly to Susan's side. "Leave her be." snarled the King. He glanced over to the other man, wondering if he was friend or foe. Then his eyes flashed dangerously back to Lamont. "Get away from her!" he roared again, his sword gleaming brightly in the evening light.

"Such wordplay must've been hard for your primitive mind to conjure." He said stepping back only to step forward with his sword raised. The pommel of his blade was against one palm and the perfect blade extended skyward. "And I'll not leave her yet. As I said she lives in service to me and none other. But if you insist, I'll not step toward her. Susan, come!"

At his command her body burned with unseen fire. She stood and went to his side, slowly as she regretted every step. When at last she was beside him she turned to Caspian, her every thought screaming to him as though it could reach him. Please, her mind begged, stop me. Remember your promise. Don't let me go. But as the thoughts came she dropped her gaze so he couldn't see her eyes and steped closer to Lamont.

Caspian pulled her away from the boy and knocked him aside into the sand, and in an instant Caspian had disarmed him. The blade was given to Susan, and the King tore Lamont's coat from his body, searching for weapons, most likely daggers. He took the two that he found, and threw the jacket into the oasis incase there would have been some that he had missed. He took the bootknives from his cousin's shoes, and stole his weapon belt, tossing these too into the water. "You'll not command her again!" he spat, holding his sword to Lamont's throat. "You there!" he called to the other man, "Are you for Narnia or the Firefields?" Caspian's gaze never left his cousin.

Of course the demon lord was to come. He followed danger as the moon follows the sun. It is his nature; it is his was. And above all, he enjoys it. A great violet dragon was what came first. His scales gleamed in the dancing firelight and his still beating wings brought forth great clouds of sand. It took only seconds in his presence before the flying sand gave death to the fire, but he cared not. With his tail he knocked over the boy he had not seen and with his claws he slashed at Caspian. With his head he gripped Susan's dress behind her neck and lifted her with his arching neck and placed her by Lamont. "It's been far to long since we've met, poor excuse for a halfling. I have grown stringer since my last battle with you and you fire spirit. I shall not lose again."

The wind howled as Nicole trudged on through the desert sand. It had been three days since her food suply had run out only her training kept her standing through loss of food and water. "Was i so blind as to lead myself to my own death by only seaking revenge"she thought still trudgeing through sand when her legs finnaly gave out. She fell her mouth filled with the horrible taste of sand. "Maybe this was my fate after all." she thought just laying there not even trying to get up.
A horrible screech
Nicole pushed herself up in time to see a dragon fly above her towards an oasis she hadn't seen moments before. She pushed herself to her feet and followed the dragon with new found strenght. She ran after the beast to find a battle engaging. A young boy and a young woman blowing some strange object, when a man appeared dressed in the armor of Narnia that glistened so brightly nicole had to look away. "What is going on? Should i interfer ?" so many questions flowed into nicoles head as she watched.

"Caspian!" Susan screamed as the dragon carried her and dropped her beside Lamont and another warrior came to join them. Where were all these people coming from? "Do what you have to, just don't let him take me."

The claws slid against his armor, but nothing more. He had chosen it for this purpose. It was strong enough to withstand any dragon, made of their very scales and plated in metal. He held tightly to Susan, so that he was airborne as well when Cotnar picked her up. His sword slashed against the dragon's nose, and when they were on the ground again he pulled her away from Lamont and back to where they had been previously. Some good that had done, simply being moved a few feet and walking back. "So have we." he snapped. Caspian would not leave his lover's side. Not for anything. An arm was held tightly around her waist, preventing any from tearing her from his grasp. His hand lay in front of her belly, protecting what might be their child. To others, though, it wouldn't have seemed to be anything.

"Caspian?!" she thought with great astonishment, this was the king of Narnia she had been searching for and the woman must of been Susan. Nicole reached for her sword as the dragon tried to carry Caspian and Susan, but Caspian cut the dragon's nose causing the dragon to drop them. She finnally understood Aslan had lead her to the desert to help the king and queen herself and she planned to do just that. She lunged at the dragon with her sword in one hand the other hand at her side incase she neaded her necklace hidden in her pouch. This was definitaly an emergancy to use her ace in the hole. She opened her mind as the thoughts of her eniemies flowed in she could predict the movements of her eniemies before they even attacked.
