The lovers had kept coming in and out of her arms that she barely had any time to draw her knife and even attempt to fight. As much as she hated the thought she sided with Susan this time. There was no chance that she could protect Susan if an enemy came and both of them would die. But he gave his command and she ran to the forset, her arms locked around Susan so she could not move. It was true that elves moved with great speed, but the queen's added weight slowed her. She only preyed there was no trouble.

"NO!" She screamed as she was taken from him, his image becomming blocked by the trees around her. She struggled but could not escape. The elf was simply too strong. But she never gave up. Her nails dug into the girls arms and she clawed at her face as best she could. But she never stopped. After a while she slowed only because she knew she was too far away from Caspian to be of any use anyway. She curled into a ball in Katrina's arms, her arms folded over her unseen child. "He means the best for you," She whispered to him. But that was not what would be. High above in the trees she could hear something leap from one branch to another. "Another child you bring, another story of the stars perhaps? Never! One child, one prophocey. No more. NOW DIE!" As shadowy beast burst from his hiding place with only his fangs and claws gleaming. "CASPIAN!" She screamed, but she knew she was too far away to be heard.

Caspian fought harshly with his brother. Viafot lunged, and Caspian ducked. The King leaped, and Viafot stepped aside. "This is pointless." he mutttered to his brother. "Neither you or I will win. It should be a draw."
"No." was all the centaur said, swinging his sword and missing.
Caspian sighed. "Have it your way then. I shall kill you sooner or later."

Katrina put Susan into a hiding place between the roots of a tree and drew her knife ready to face the beast that had come. Only once she let her blade touch the monster, but then she ran heading back into the forest she came from. When she could see the centaur she raised her hand and concentrated with all her strength, "Brisinger!" Fire sprouted from nowhere under Viafot and he reared as Katrina took a place behind him. This way she and Caspian had him outflanked.

Caspian plunged his sword into Viafot's heart as the fire sprung up around the centaur. But when he saw Katrina, Caspian thought that he himself might die. Susan wasn't with her. "GODDAMN KATINA, WHERE'S SUSAN?!" he shouted, and bolted into the forest from which the elf had come. He didn't care if Viafot lived or died from the blade through his heart. All he cared about right now was his wife. He knew that even Katrina couldn't have made it to the castle that fast. Caspian ran fast as his feet would carry him, bloodied blade in hand.

The living shadow faced her but his formed changed in an instant's time and became a dragon. This was another changeling, one of Caspian's half-brothers or sisters. Katrina had tossed her in a hole and she had already climbed out. But by the time she had pulled herself out the elf was already gone. But why? Caspian told her to make sure she got to the castle and she had left right when danger came. She took a stick, the only weapon she could use. "Useless weapon for a useless girl," The dragon laughed, "I dispose of the second child and the one who doesn't know how to hold back her body." For a moment he closed his great ruby eyes and images tore through her mind driving her to her knees screaming. After a moment they passed and the red dragon looked over her and laughed again. "You think you are a monster, an abomination to you, your lover, and your children?" He laughed again, "You will know what it is like to be a monster!" He became shadow again and attacked, his body covering her and blocking out all light. Her instinct and reflexes drove her to call for Caspian, but when she tried her voice made no sound. Then darkness.

"She's safe at the castle with her son." Katrina answered. When he ran she gave chase and gripped his arm with strength she knew he could not counter. "We are faster than you could ever believe. She is home with her father and brother's and son and Aslan is with her. She is safe. You on the other hand must finish this fight. Or would you rather him live and hurt Susan later when you're less prepared?" She turned him back to the centaur who trumped and stared at her with hatred in his eyes that she could return. "No, let him run," Viafot growled, "Let him run like a powerless coward and then I will hunt through her mind and find the traitor. It is no pity that no human would be able to withstand me."

Caspian slashed his sword against her body when she grabbed him. It wasn't a deep wound, and wouldn't kill. But it would hurt and burn. "Don't lie to me." he spat. "Even you aren't that fast." He leapt at his brother, now a monster of rage and worry that made him sick. The centaur's head dropped to the ground and rolled, his body slumping to the ground like a worthless animal. Caspian glared at Katrina, but spoke not a word. Instead, he roamed the forest, searching for his wife. The whites of his eyes were red with worry, tears threatening to spill. But he wouldn't let them. "SUSAN!" he called for her.

Light finaly came, though it was not normal light as it should have been. The light of this world was seemingly red in its shade. Far away she could hear her Caspian's voice, the sound sharper and clearer than it ever would have been. She looked to the sky and then the trees around her. Everything seemed the same as when she passed out, but they were all bathed in the dull red shade. Other colors were there, the trees were still green and flowers still yellow, but not as much as it should have been. She turned her head towards Caspain's voice thinking her neck felt strange and longer then it had before. She opened her mouth to call for him, but her voice had been distorted and all that came out was a strange roar. "AARRUUNN!" The sound scared her and her jaws snapped shut with a metallic click. Why did she sound like that? She reached to scratch her neck but her hands could not reach. She bent her strange neck to look at them and found her knees reversed and claws and deep red scales on her body. Panicing she roared again and flame burst from between her teeth as she felt a thick liquid pass up her throat and catch fire as it touched the air. What did the demon do to her? How could Caspian reconize her like this? What happened to their child during the transformation?

Caspian turned and ran towards the roar. When he saw the mighty beast, his lips pulled back, and he bared his teeth like an animal. He roared from deep in his throat, and stared the beast down, unblinking the entire time he raced towards it. Caspian stopped a few feet away from the great dragon. "FIGHT WITH ME!" he howled at it. "LEAVE MY WIFE ALONE!" he would deal with Katrina later for lying to him. Oh yes, he would certainly deal with her.

Katrina watched as Caspian killed his half brother. But then again, the beast wasn't dead. She drew her knife and waited. Changelings were extremely regenerative. choping off limbs wouldn't kill them, only set them back. Already she could see tendrils of muscles and veins connecting the severed head to the lifeless body. Within moments he would be ready to fight again. She had assumed Caspian knew how to kill a changeling, without it the battle was useless anyway.

Something within her growled and a scaly tail swung behind her. This man, his voice, he was Caspian. She knew it, it had to be him. Her claws dug into the earth and her wings spread. She opened her mouth as if to defend herself, but all that came out was fire. It caught on the grass around her. Seeing it she reared like a frightened horse and her wings flapped buffeting Caspian with wind. Why was she doing this? Couldn't he see what she was? Probably not after attacking him. But how can she make him understand, what keeps him from killing her now?

What on earth? This had to be the most peculiar dragon Caspian had ever seen. He ran up to it and slashed his sword upon its scales, though it did little. "FIGHT WITH ME!" he roared again.

Susan roared fire again and lunged, her will beating against the hard shell of a body she lived in now, but could do nothing. Her claws were outstretched and her teeth were bared as she beat her wings to give her speed. "Please don't do this!" Her mind begged but her body wouldn't listen.

Caspian leapt out of the way, letting the dragon crash into the ground. He beat the creature on the back of the skull, and blood came from between the scales. "That's for Susan!" he growled, and climbed onto the beast's head, fitting his feet behind the horns and grabbing the ears. The dragon couldn't get him while he was up here. Caspian took his sword and began poking at the top of the creature's head, trying unsuccessfully to break the bone.
