The cat smiled to himself when she spoke of the warriors code. It was true that Tash could not break this nearly forgotten code, but he didn't care. He was beyond Narnian power and was not bound to such foolish things. Besides, it was the boy who agreed to it, not him. But he only stretched and kept staring at the dog.

"Do you know him, Sevona?" Annabelle asked when they were out of earshot. She didn't like having his eyes in their direction. It sent shivers down her spine. "He keeps looking at you." The woman on her back was demanding answers now, and Anna had to threaten to drop her just to get her to shut up. "It's complicated." she said, not wanting to explain at the moment how Sevona would change into an injured girl so near death that she may have already died. She didn't want to explain how she failed to protect a child from a boy with the powers of the earth. She didn't want to explain how the only reason that they lived was because of the Warrior's Code. No, Anna didn't want to explain any of it right now. She didn't even want to think about it, because nothing could be done while they were in the air. She didn't want to think about the possibility that Nicole could already be dead. No, maybe she couldn't be. Sevona would be dead too, or dying. But she was neither. This cheered Anna up a bit, but still she wouldn't speak of anything. She wanted to hear about why Cotnar had been staring so much at the dog demon.

"Who? asked Sevona she hadn't seen anyone or even smelt anyone familiar. Though Sevona did know that the boy was still here. Sevona knew he wasn't coming back his scent was just linguring down in the main room. "Who exactly are you talking about?Sevona asked again in a low tone so only Anna could hear. Maybe Sevona had overlooked someone.

The cat rose and stretched again though he knew it was not needed and followed after the fleeing dog-creature and griffin. One of the nurses saw him and pointed but he payed her no mind. The humans here recognized him, though not for reasons they should but only because they did not know who, or what, he really was. To them he was nothing more than a cat that everyone who knew him feared.

"The little beast who's following us." she said lowly, following the scent that was following them. "He's a changling. A demon. He's the reason that I had that bandage on my throat for so long. He is the one who tried to take the young Prince away from us."

Sevona blincked at Anna's answer. "I don't think i know him." Sevona said as she felt a wierd vibe go up her body as she started shaking. "What's going on?" she thought as she coughed up blood on the floor. Sevona didn't feel to good. Usually when Nicole disconnected she didn't feel her pain. "Something is very wrong." SEvona thought as more blood escaped her throat, as sevona fell from Anna's back.

Anna swore and caught Sevona. "How much longer can you make it?" she asked. If she could, the creature would fly them to the mountain. There, at least, they could see all around them, and Anna could keep watch effectively without having to be too far from the ground. The mountain would only be a few minutes flight, if they flew fast.

Sevona coughed again as her vision got very hazy. " I don't think Nicole's doing so good." Sevona said softly, faint like. Sevona ffelt like crap and she was slowly losing conciousness. Sevona tried desperatley to keep awake when she heard Nicole's thoughts. "That's it! Ssevona thought to herself she knew what was wrong and hopefully they could stop it. "Listen closely Anna, Nicole is injured in her......... Sevona was cutt of as an indescribable pain exploded in her chest. Sevona coughed up more blood as she fell into the dark. Sevona had fainted.

"Where? DAMMIT, WHERE!?" Anna shook the demon, but she had fainted. Carefully, she helped her up onto her wings again, where the medical women held her to ensure that she wouldn't fall. Anna flapped her wings furiously, forward and back like a water-beetle, thrusting herself onward faster and faster. They had to make it to the mountain. They had no choice now. A few minutes, and they were there. Anna crouched and let the passengers set their feet on solid ground. She plucked a small branch from a rosemary bush and set the end on fire before blowing it out. She held the smoking plant beneath Sevona's nose. It would force her to wake up.

Sevona was in a dream she believed. Everything was different, there was no liffe at all. Everything was dead. The plants were burned to a crisp, a whole village destroyed. Sevona entered a house were she thought she had heard crying. Sevona found a little girl laying over a dead woman. "It must of been her mother." thought sevona. "it's ok little girl i'll help you out." said Sevona but the girl didn't even notice her. Then a woman, no a girl entered her head down so Sevona could not see her face. "Watch out!" Sevona cried at the girl but it was no use. The girl had already been killed. THe other girl started laughing the little girl's blood splashed across her face. The girl looked up and sevona cringed that girl was Nicole!!!!
Nicole was reliving her darkest moments when some scent caught her nose. Nicole had just killed a little girl from her past in her nightmare. Nicole awoke with a gasp as she felt her body transform from Sevona's to her own. Nicole couldn't breathe, blood was running from her mouth. She felt someone holding her but it wasn't Anna. nicole was awake but she couldn't even open her eyes. She needed all the energy she had left just to breathe.

Anna watched as the nurse set to work clearing Nicole's lungs. The griffin was sent to the forest, retrieving this and that like a hound, bringing it back so that it could be used as medicine. When the trips to the trees were no longer necessary, she sat atop the peak, watching over them and the sides of the mountains. There were no signs of the cat, or any other scent that Cotnar mixed his with. Her beak raised high, Annabelle sniffed the air. The farthest scent was still just beyond the castle walls. They had bought themselves some time during their flight. But still, she stayed nearly glued to the humans' sides. Cotnar, if nothing else, was a master magician. Now you see him, now you don't. Now you're in trouble. That's how it was with him. Anna kept her wings over them, ready to scoop them up and take off if Cotnar did show up.

Nicole was slowly but conciously breathing easier. Nicole couldn't wait till her lungs were fully clear so she could tell Anna it wasn't her fault. Nicole blinked a little but it was still to early to try to move.

Anna watched helplessly, unable to do anything to aid her. "I'm sorry, little one." she said, preening Nicole's hair with her beak before rising her head again to look over the mountain in search of the demon changling. "You wouldn't be like this if I had stopped you like I should have."

"Shhhhh." Anna hushed her quietly. "I could have." she said. "You couldn't have stopped me." she told her. "I shouldn't have acted so foolish and immaturely. I should have stopped you. I'm sorry, Nicole." Anna said again, still looking for Cotnar, though he hadn't appeared. Maybe they would be lucky this time. "Are you going to be okay?" she asked the child, hoping that she might try and speak through her mind again instead of with her throat. Anna had empathy for her. She knew how it felt.
