Nicole smirked these were the perks of having mind-reading abilities. "I really don't know how i have my powers" she said to the griffon. "I've just always had the ability to read minds" she added. "I'ts like a family thing i guess." the truth her family had had wierd powers. "I don't think magic has anything to do with it." she added. Nicole took off her huge sword if she was going to tell a story she wanted to do it comfortably. "I used to live right out of Narnian borders with my family in a small home." Nicole started "It was alright, i guess thats were i learned swordsmanship."she finished pointing to her sword. "That's basically my family." she stopped looking at the griffon wondering if the griffon wanted to hear more.

Anna shook her head. It was magic. She could smell it. Now she watched respectively, listening. Annabelle looked at the sword when Nicole pointed to it, and then back to the story-teller.

"There are some holes in my memory." Nicole continued. She was scared she didn't want to tell the griffon about her past Anna was the only friend she had had yet other than that Devon kid. She didn't want the griffon to leave now."My.........past is complicated." Nicole finished letting her eyes drift to the water again as she sat quietly. Nicole watched as silent tears fell from her face and hit the water. "Why now of all times!" she told herself. Nicole wiped away the tears hoping the griffon hadn't noticed them at all. She knew that the griffon must know something bothered her because anna could feel emotion Anna had thought that herself.

Anna frowned and put a large wing around Nicole. Poor child. The griffin waited, wondering if she still wanted to tell her the story or not.

Nicole was happy when the griffon comforted her. "You'll hate me if i tell you." she wispered. She clutched her necklace of a dragon it was something she had found on her travels but what was really important about it was that her mother had made it. It was one of the last things she had made before she had died. Nicole looked up. "You deserve to hear the rest of the story hating me or not." she finished. "One day i was alone on the mountain behind our house. A man tricked me into killing a woman to steal her belongings. THat day another side of me emerged." as if on cue my eyes changed color to the scarlet red. "Ever since then whenever i go into that state i could kill anyone without any mercy it was only a game to me." she looked down not wanting to look Anna in the eyes. "i tried to stop killing but the man kept showing up and i continued to work for him earning the title"the silent one". If i could i wanted to make it as painless as possible, so i killed before they even relized what had happend. THat side of me i can't control at all." she stopped. "It has come out again lately because of my brothers betrayal of our family." Nicole finished. THe sun had now set and the wind had a chill in it. nicole waited for the griffon to pull away or hurt her. SHe wouldn't blame Anna if she did she had killed so many inocent lives.

Annabelle softly nudged her arm with her beak. You couldn't help it. she thought, her only way of communication with the girl besides writing things in the ground, which wouldn't work now as the sky turned dark.

Nicole didn't understand "why did the griffon say it was ok?". It was all her fault her other side was still her still part of herself. It wasn't what Nicole wanted but it was still there. She still wanted to kill somewhere deap inside. Nicole didn't have time to ponder it when a crack of thunder sounded and the first drop of ran landed on her nose.

Annabelle looked up at the sky, and all of a sudden the rain came. All at once the drops fell through the air. The griffin didn't mind the rain, but the human could catch an illness in wet weather. She looked at the river, and decided quickly that it would be safer to get to higher ground. Water always rose in a canyon. She stood up and crouched down so that Nicole could climb onto her back. Don't forget this. she thought, grabbing the sword and handing it to the girl.

Nicole took the sword from Anna and strapped it to her back. "WHat now?" she thought. She looked at Anna as she crouched but Nicole wasn't one for heights. "I don't really like heights." she said looking at Anna.

But it's faster. Anna thought. You won't be able to climb up the slopes of this canyon now. They're all muddy and slippery. The river rises as it rains. The animal pointed out to the water with one talon. It was indeed rising. C'mon. Get on. Anna thought. I won't drop you.

Nicole was scared but Anna made a good point the river was rising and fast. SHe reluctantly got on Anna. She wanted to put her arms around Anna's neck but she knew about her injuries. "where do you want me to hold on!" i shouted over the thunder the rain was getting harder as lightning hight a tree closse to us its branches on fire as the flames spread all around us.

Anna took off, flying over the fire. Just hold on. she thought, and tilted her wings so that they were flying at an almost vertical angle. The griffin made sure that Nicole stayed on. She wasn't about to let her fall.

"Too WHat?!" Nicole screamed in her head. As she raped her arms around Anna's stomach. SHe closed her eyes she had made the mistake of looking down. Nicole's entire body was soaked as they got higher. SHe coughed a couple of times the chill was making her entire body shake.

Anna flew faster as she burst out of the canyon, slowing as she glided through the trees, searching for shelter. She found a small indent in the mountain that the waterfall ran off of, and landed. She walked into it, crouching again so that Nicole could climb off. That wasn't so bad. she thought. It's a pity that your first flight should have to be in a storm though. The griffin shook her body so that the water rolled off of her and she dried. She tried her best not to move her throat as she did so, but it wa impossible. It didn't hurt to terribly, and when the throbbing stopped it felt a little better. You're all wet. she thought. And shivering. Are you alright?

Nicole climbed off Anna she didn't respond. She was shivering harder than Anna trying to get the water off. Nicole wasn't really sure what Anna was thinking. Nicole's mind was floating in and out of conciousness. SHe leaned against the back of the cave trying to stay concious but it wasn't working to well. THe roar of the waterfall grew silent. Nicole was still awake but her body had shut down from the cold and only a little of her mind remained.
