Kioh chuckled. "I doubt that." he said. "I'm sure the one that you sang was excellent." When he opened his eyes to look at her, he saw how closely she had moved to him and smiled. It seemed that he smiled a lot when he was around her, but he couldn't help it. She made him so happy that it was impossible not to smile. Kioh closed his eyes again, listening to the birds as they whistled their little tunes in the branches of the forest. The frogs chirped in a creek somewhere. Kye just enjoyed the sound, at peace.

She felt her chest jumped as it tried to laugh, but lacked the strength make the sound. He wand worked well, but she could since the much more powerful magic in this one. She eagerly awaited the moment when she would have the strength to touch the wand after the tree split and cast sparks for the first time.

(OOC: Kye = Kioh's nickname)
Kioh watched the little tree. Its leaves swayed in the gentle breeze that glided softly through the forest. "How do you get the wand out of that?" asked the elf, still gazing at the young plant. He turned back to Katrina, looking at her instead. Kioh found that she was much more fun to look at than the tree. Her long hair with its unique colors was unlike any other's of their race. Her pretty face was soft and kind, though he knew what she looked like when she was angry. But even in rage, she was still stunning. "You're beautiful, you know that?" Kioh said sweetly. The compliment rolled off his tongue before he could stop it.

When it's ready the tree will burst and free the wand." She told him never opening her eyes. but they almost did at his words. "No I'm not," She told him, "I'm just as I was born, alone and unwanted. There is no beauty in that."

Kioh frowned. "You're not unwanted, and you're not alone." he said. "And I think that you are beautiful." he didn't know how he was acting so bold. Normally he would have kept quiet, and been rather nervous around her. But for the most part, his nervousness was gone. Vanished, as if it were only smoke.

"But your the only one." she said sadly, "the only reason why Caspian kept me from dieing was because he thought it was wrong for me to die in front of him and he wanted me to help Susan." She hadn't meant to tell him that though, it had only come.

"Oh." he said, rolling over and facing away from her sadly. Kioh didn't matter to her. It was he who felt unwanted. He would have to try harder if he was to win her heart. He didn't know how to do it, but he would certainly try harder.

"I'm sorry," She said not knowing what to think when he turned away, but she did not move. She couldn't know, but would admire, how he still had energy to move after all he had done. "I didn't mean to hurt you."

"It's alright." he said, closing his eyes again. Even her apology couldn't take away the pain in Kioh's heart, but he knew that she couldn't help it. Just as he couldn't help that he loved her, and how she couldn't help that she loved Caspian. "It's not your fault."

"I know, but still . . . " She didn't know how to tell him everything. She loved Caspian, even after he had made it clear that he hated her. It hurt her deeply and her heart was ready to give up. But now, more than anything, she wanted him to lay on his side facing her with his arm over her waist.

Kioh rolled over and faced her again, still unable to hide the pain in his eyes. "It's alright." he said again. "It isn't your fault. You don't have to be sorry." Kioh looked at her face again, smiling sadly. "You are beautiful, just so you know."

She didn't say anything. she still didn't believe him, but she wasn't about to argue. What was it about her that made him love her? She was nothing to be desired by and was nothing near the trouble he had gone for her. He sang a wand in a month, something that had never been done before. He drained the life of a star for her, something claimed to be impossible. How could he stand himself, loving her like he did? To love was a blessing, but to love a creature so low and vile was a curse.

He looked into her eyes for a moment and held a gaze, trying to convince her that he meant every word of what he said. Unable to find any other way, he said it in their own tongue. His eyes shifted as he heard a pop, and the wand flew from the tree, landing near her. "Look!" he exclaimed, pointing. It was the perfect distraction and subject changer, and it gave him the oppertunity to hide his previous pain from her.

She reached, though it still was not easy, for the wand. It's presence gave her the strength to reach it.she closed her hand around it and smiled. dragon heartstring. Just as before. She had her wand, she had her identity again. She was something in this great and confusing world. She was Katrina Ravenfrost: The last wand-wielder. And it was thanks to Kioh.

"Congratulations!" he said, smiling at her. If anything, no matter how sad he was, Kioh could always smile at her. "I'm happy for you." he said, watching the joy on her face. Kioh was happy because she was happy, but he couldn't choke the sadness in his heart, even if it was hidden from her. He didn't matter to her. You're the only one. she had told him. Her voice echoed and pierced his soul, but it encouraged him to try harder. Kioh was determined to do something to win her heart. Anything, to bring a smile to her eyes. She was smiling now, and he smiled back. If she frowned, he would frown. He loved her, and his heart was aching.
