"I should have been able to fight for my self. It was my fault." She closed her eyes when Aslan licked her thankful that he wasn't slobbery. "But you said you couldn't help me. Why would you come now?"

"I will always help those who are in dire need of it. Tell me, Susan, do you put me first before everything else? Do you have faith in me? Do you believe that I will always save you if I believe that you need to be saved?"
Caspian held her head in his lap, combing through her hair with his fingers. He was too happy to talk, and simply listened to the both of them.

"I believe you would come, but in truth if it came between you or my family I would choose them. Wasn't that why you couldn't come and help me in the first place?"

"It is." said Aslan. "But things have changed. You need my help more than ever in the times to come. And you must have your son. And you must rebuild your relationship with me. You cannot go to the firefields yet. You are needed here."
Caspian looked down at her and touched her belly. Their son was still alive.

"My son is still alive?" It didn't make since. She had died, how could it have lived until now? But then again she had been brought back, maybe he could have been too. Her hand ran over her stomach as though it could kick back but she knew it was too small. She leaned against Caspian happy to at last be in his arms again. "But if I died would I realy go to the firefields?"

"No." said Aslan. "You would live with me, in my Country. The reason you went there today was because the demon brought you there. You wouldn't have stayed long. Not even Tash could keep you from where you truly belong." Aslan licked her face again and laid down next to them, rolling over on his back.
"Thank you, Aslan." Caspian finally said when his voice came back.

"I suppose I owe you my life," She said before muttering, "again." she held back a little laugh as she saw him on his back. He looked alot like a puppy with long fur, but she still couldn't see very well. She wanted to ask him more but almost felt ashamed to do it and held her tongue.

"You came to me at the Stone Table." he reminded her. "I will always save your life so long as you are faithful to me."
Caspian stroked her face softly. "We should get you back to the Castle before Katrina shows up." he said, and stood.
Aslan was willing to give them a ride, and rolled over so that they could climb on. Caspian helped Susan on first, and then carefully climbed on. His arm was hurting again.

"I thought you said I wasn't faithful, that was the problem." If anything she didn't feel faithful with her constant crossing sides, willingly or not. She still had other things she wanted to ask, but again didn't. For some reason she thought Aslan knew she wanted to say something anyway.

"You don't put me first." he corrected. "But you don't serve any other 'gods'. I am your only God." Aslan said, carrying them fast through the trees.

At least there she would agree. "Aslan," She said at last adressing something she was slightly comfortable with though she gave it a bit more thought before continuing, "when I was dead I could hear the demon's thoughts. I could hear him thinking that Caspian, Katrina, and me were the only things that could stop the demons. He thought that we all needed eachother to survive and without only one of us the war was lost. They would invade Narnia and take my son because he was part demon and shared the blood with one of Aslan's blessed children. But why would we need Katrina? I'm more than certain she tried to kill me just now."

"Yes, why would we need her?" Caspian chimed in. "This isn't the only time that she's tried to kill Susan. It's the second time, actually. And she killed my father. How can we need her?"
Aslan shook his head. "Everything and everyone has their place and purpose." was all he said. "Perhaps you don't need her as much as the demon thinks. Perhaps you do. It could go either way."
"What does that mean?" he asked.
"I can't say."
"I'm going to kill her." Caspian told the Lion sadly. "I'm sorry. But you said that a man should protect his family. And that includes putting a stop to people who are trying to kill them."
"I did say that." said Aslan. "There is nothing against you if you do. But be careful. Remember that she does have a purpose, somewhere in this world. It's right under her nose and she refuses to see it."
"Tomorrow she will be put on trial." Caspian announced quietly. "And when she is convicted, she will be burned. I have made my decision."

"Then she has a reason for killing me?" She didn't understand. If all three of them were needed then how could one of them destory another without destorying everything. "Maybe there's something we don't know. There has to be a reason for what she did. I don't actualy think she's insane. We don't know her well and we don't know what's going through her mind. There has to be something there, some reason that we need her. Can't you tell us?"

"I can tell you what's there." said Caspian. "Madness. That girl is madly in love with me, and I hate it. Secret confirmed it in the stables, Susan, when we were trying to find you. Apparently, her and I did have a relationship as she says, and my brother is blocking my mind." Caspian went on to tell her the whole story, of how he had broken the girl's heart and wand, how she had attempted suicide, how he had made the mistake of saving her, how she had invaded his mind without permission, how that act of invasion triggered his brother and put Susan in danger, and then he went on about their arguments and the stables and the fighting all the way to Viafot. "She's crazy. Her love for me simply makes her crazy." he said. "But I don't love her at all." Caspian assured her. "And tomorrow she will be killed. She lives only in the hope that I leave you and go to her, but she sure is making everything hell, and I can't stand it anymore. Tomorrow, and sunset, she will be dead."

"So she lied then." She said. "You say she invaded your mind days ago and that was when Viafot went after me. But it wasn't. You left to the moutains saying you wanted answers about her almost two weeks ago and the day you left was when Viafot came for me. I was only able to resist him for a day, but he took me long before you returned. She lied." The thought for a while, "What if she already knew I had been taken and she had used her invasion as an excuse to have you come after me. What if the entire battle we went through was planned by the elf. Think, Caspian, where is Katrina now?"
