Caspian turned his head at the sound of a baby, letting the subject of the England boy that had cheated on Susan drop. Had he heard correctly? That sounded like a human baby, distinctly a sound that Galen might make. But that was impossible, Galen was dead. The King opened his mouth to ask Susan if she had heard it too, or if he was simply going crazy. But then he stopped. If she hadn't heard it, he didn't want to upset her with the topic of their son. Instead, Caspian just stopped talking, stopped breathing, listening for the sound to come again.

Susan lifted her head for an instant hearing the sound she knew to be her son's. She didn't know how she knew, something just told her that it was impossible for it to belong to anyone else. But she knew all to well that he was dead. She shook her head trying to get the sound out of her head. Stupid voice, now he plays tricks on me, making me hear my son. She threw herself at Caspian's chest gripping his clothes as she cried.

Caspian embraced her, holding her tightly. He patted her back softly and let her cry into him, he himself holding back tears just so that she wouldn't see them. "You heard it to." he said. It was more of a statement than a question. But how could they both have heard it at the same time? Either they were both crazy, or something was here. Caspian rocked her forth and back. "Did you hear Galen?" he asked, his voice a bit shakey.

"Don't," She whispered through her tears as they came harder, "Don't say his name. Please. I don't wan't to hear him, he's dead. I don't want this stupid voice to haunt me with him too. I already have enough things he taunts me for, don't let him know about him."

Damian watched the couple, and for an instant thought that this wasn't the time to interupt. But it was their son that they cried over, and the babe was scrambling in his arms to get to his parents like a puppy scrambles to run and play. Dami came closer to them, and Galen shouted again, much louder this time, in joy. Damian kept his hand over his mouth this time. A part of him still wanted it to be a suprise. The smoke was getting more and more visible to the King and Queen as he aproached, and Damian focused more on being quiet than keeping his transparency.

"But he's here! Galen is here!" Caspian exclaimed as he heard his son shout gleefully a second time. The King looked around, noticing the smoke cloud that was coming towards them. "What the hell is that?" he asked, drawing his sword but never letting go of Susan. He pointed his sword at the cloud, knowing that a blade would do nothing anyway.

So many emotions built inside her at his words. Anger, frustration, sadness, rage, fear, loss, all crashed together at once. She couldn't understand why he was trying to hurt her. "Stop it," She pushed him aside and turned away from him tucking her knees under her chin. "I don't know what your trying at, but it's not helping me any." Maybe he's realized whatever it was that Lamont had realized long ago that made tourturing her enjoyable. Maybe it was time she left. She ignored him almost entirely as she heard him draw his sword.

Damian flew up behind the Gentle Queen and placed little Galen on her shoulders, whom clung to his mother. The Fire Spirit materialized the boy, so that he was now human again and visible again to his parents. But Dami stayed as smoke, even if he himself was visible too, becoming less so as he worked on being transparent. It took a lot of willpower not to laugh and smile and see the happiness on their faces when they saw that their son was alive. He stayed quiet, waiting to see what would happen.

Caspian reached out to her. "Susan, I'm not trying to hurt you." he said. "But I really did hear him. He's here somewhere..." his voice trailed as he watched the boy appear on her shoulders. "S-S-Susan!" Caspian yelled, pointing. He was shocked and happy and frightened all at the same time. "L-L-Look!" but he knew that she probably didn't even have to look. She could probably feel the weight of the baby on her shoulders. Caspian glared at the smoke cloud. "Who are you?" he demanded, shooing Damian and blowing him away from his wife.

She felt the small weight that had she had carried for a little over nine months as it tried to hold onto her with it's small hands that were not strong enough to grasp anything. She pulled it from her shoulder and cradeled it in her arms still crying, but not like before. She looked up to see who had brought her child back from the dead but saw nothing but fire-less smoke. Dismissing it she focused on her reborn child and held it tight rocking it as it laughed and she laughed along with him. With every moment that passed she wanted to hold him even tighter, but didn't knowing eventualy it would hurt him. "How did you survive?" She asked it with the laughter still in her voice and her eyes, "I saw you fall. Where did you go?" The answeres meant nothing to her, he was alive.

Damian smiled now, and materialized in front of the two parents. "You can't blow away a Fire Spirit!" exclaimed the man happily. Then he proceeded to answer Susan's questions. "Annabelle saved him from the fall and the demon. But he got her good." his voice was solemn, "She came crashing through the window, and I took him from there to one of the secret rooms below the dungeon. Last I heard, she's still in the medical chambers. Then the fireless, wingless, dragon, thing," Damian tried to describe the dinosaur that he had never before laid eyes upon in the land of Narnia, "came knocking down the walls after us. We turned to smoke and he kept turning into different animals, trying to get us. But we finally outsmarted him and he left us alone. Then I was hiding Galen on the rooftops and Lennia came to help him too. She made a mist to hide us, and helped him. Without her, he probably wouldn't have turned out so good." Damian said. He was talking fast, reciting barely a fraction of what had all happened last night. "And then they told us that you had been taken, Susan, and I came this morning to find Caspian and give him Galen. But here you are!" he said happily, finishing.

Caspian embraced his wife and child, kissing and hugging the both of them. He said nothing as tears of joy formed in his eyes that he let few fall but forced the rest away. "Thank you." he said to Damian, and hugged his family tighter and tighter. Galen ignored how crowded the hug was, and snuggled himself against his mother and father. Apparently, he had missed them, too. Even the King's bad arm was taken from the sling and wrapped around his family. He could feel no pain at this moment. Not if he was run through with a blade. Caspian wanted this moment to last forever with his Cuddle-Bug and son in his arms, both of whom he had thought to be dead or doomed in the beginning of the day. "Thank you, Aslan." he said, and then repeated it over and over. "Thank you, Aslan. Thank you, Aslan. Thank you..."
