Caspian smiled, but before he had a chance to speak her lips were pressed against his, silencing him. He kissed her, never stopping. Her kisses were sweeter than anything else to him, and he would never turn away her love. Caspian was happy for her, happy that the voice was gone. For so long, he knew, that the voice would not leave her alone. For nine months, it had been invading her mind. But now it was gone. And, if Caspian could help it, it would be gone for good. He closed his eyes as he kissed her. It didn't do much, considering the room was dark anyway, but it was good to close his eyes. It was like just by doing that, he could shut out the world, and just be alone with Susan. The man ran his hand over her back softly, her warm skin beneath his fingertips. He was careful when they touched a bandage, not wanting to disturb the wound that lay beneath. But for once, they were just wounds. When Susan kissed him, his mind couldn't drift to what demon had caused the wounds. Her happiness made him happy and peaceful, just like he had said. I love you. he thought in his head as if she could hear him, because he couldn't speak, not wanting to break their kiss.

Her mind enjoyed this freedom. When he stroked her back her skin tingled with joy. When his fingertips touched her wounds, though she was sure it be by accident and she easily forgave, her body felt no pain. She wouldn't let go of him, couldn't let go. There was a fire that had begun to burn inside her, one that she never knew was within her. It had somehow been pushed down by the voice, but now it was free from it's grasp and she would do as she pleased without doubt devouring her soul. Her hand's left his face and went once more to the soft skin beneith his clothes where the muscles of years training could be easily felt. As skin met skin the fire burned brighter and harder than before. She could not explain her thoughts, som came and went to quickly, some have no words to describe. But every one was a thought that involved her Caspian, her warrior, her lord. How much she had changed, starting from a lonely schoolgirl in England to a Narnian queen completly lost in love for her king.

Caspian's fingers wandered up her neck and into her hair, combing though it softly. He loved everything about her, and he loved the feel of her beautiful black hair against his face. It was like a warm dark blanket that could sheild him from the world. His broken hand rested on her side comfortably, unable to move. Caspian looked into her eyes again, the only things visible in the darkness. He loved staring into her eyes. They reminded him constantly of how lucky he was that she loved him the way he loved her. How lucky he was that she had said yes that day by the tree. How lucky he was that she had even come back for him after that time of loneliness when they were apart. They sparkled a magnificent combination of grey and blue, like they sky, or a cool pond in the spring after the ice has melted. Caspian smiled and kissed her neck softly. "I love you." he said.

"I love you, my Vidar," She said in a voice that combined all her thoughts and emotions together. Her hand rested against his injured one, but not in a way she would hurt him. She kissed her cast so that she could feel the soft skin of his fingers as well as the hard shape of the cast beneith her lips. He truly was the greatest of all beings in Narnia. Beyind herself, beyond her brothers, beyond the Narnians. Only Aslan could stand above him. She put his hand back to where it had rested before, though farther down her body, closer to her waist than her stomach where it had been. She watched him as he looked into her eyes almost captivated by them as she had been many times before. Then she went to him, almost to quickly for him to react. Her lips met with the skin just below his jaw, though not quite on his neck. The absence of the child allowed herself to press her entire body against his, her legs curling around his. She could think of no better way to spend the night after her son's birth.

Caspian grinned yet again as she kissed him. Her lips felt good against his skin, like a cotton scarf on a cold day. They warmed his face and entire body. The man held her close to him, kissing her nose and the area between her beautiful eyes as she wrapped her legs around him. His one hand stroked the side of her body, keeping away from the bandages. Caspian rested his head on her shoulder, letting Susan place her's on his shoulder as well. He loved her, and no one could ever doubt that. His beating heart was fast, as if it would leap from his chest and sing her a love song.

She rested her head against him as he did to her. Any normal day with the voice she would have let herself sleep. Only there was she safe from him thought the nightmares were all too common even there. But now, with the voice gone, she could let herself lie in wonder of her husband. She let her body lie still, but her fingertips still ran up and down the skin of his neck and cheeks. The feel of his skin gave her heart warmth and peace beyond that of any being. Though she believed it to be a slight cause of her troubles, even in Aslan's persence there was more fear within her than within her arms. It was why Aslan dosn't trust her as he could: She placed Caspian above him in her heart. But she could not do anything to change it. She closed her eyes but did not sleep, she only breathed and listened to his heart and let her fingers move.

Caspian ran his fingers over the skin of her back softly, up to her shoulders and back down again. His eyes closed at she touched his face, and he brought their lips together again. He kissed her slowly and then nuzzled his forehead against her's. "We should get some rest." he suggested, then kissed her jaw.

"Must we?" She asked pleadingly. She didn't want to sleep. She feared the moment she let her eyes drop and let sleep take her the voice would join her again. She feared the thought enough to push it away. She had her freedom at last and was not willing to let it go so easily. She wanted him to hold her tightly and never let her rest again. She wanted to hear his soft, whispering voice as she leaned against him. She wanted to feel the skin of his body pressed closly to hers. "I can stay awake forever."

Caspian laughed. "Alright, then." he said. He was tired, still with all of the wine and beer and ale within him from a few hours ago. He was tired, but if Susan wanted to stay awake, he would do so. Caspian smiled childishly and tickled her. "Night-owl-Cuddle-bug." he teased. He was suprised that she wasn't tired. Susan had had a long day, staring death in the face twice in less than twenty-four hours. Caspian put his hand on her waist and kissed her.

"No, just Cuddle-bug, and you my Vidar." She told him. It was the first name he chose for her, the one she had come to be familar with and love. She kissed him and let him touched her with never-tiring strength, even if she was tired. She would never let herself sleep until the voice returned, and then she would let all of it consume her and she would hide where the world cannot hurt her. There was endless nights of endless joy in this bed and every time she looked to it she remembered all it gave her. She wished her life could be nothing more than just a life like the moments spent here, but fate was unkind.

"Alright, alright. Cuddle-bug it is then." he laughed. He had never intended to keep the 'Night-owl' part on her name. "And I am your Vidar, and that is our son." Caspian pointed over to the cradle across the room, where little Galen lay sleeping, peacefully. Never had he dreamed to have such a wonderful family that he now had. He scratched her lower back with his good hand, but the fingers on his broken side still wouldn't move. So he draped his arms over her and held her tightly. "I love you Cuddle-bug." he said, smiling up at her.

"You are more than my Vidar, you are his as well." She told him. "The duties of a father and mother will be with you and me both for a very long time. And we must stay with it if we are going to raise him well." Not more than a few moments after she said this it came. How could you be a decient mother if you cannot care for yourself? it said. The moment the sound resonated through her mind she shook it away. The only way to truly make it leave was to prove it wrong. But wanting more peace from it she let the weariness of the several-hour long birth and the attack take over her. "Actualy, I think I will rest now. The voice has returned and I don't want to listen to him. All I ask is that if I start dreaming nightmares please wake me." She yawned and curled against him and closed her eyes waiting only for her good-night kiss.

"I will, I promise." Caspian said, leaning his head up and kissing her lips gently. He brushed her hair away from her face, looking into her eyes before they closed. "And one day I'll make that voice go away for good. It won't ever bother you again when I'm through with it." Caspian told her, snuggling close and letting his eyes fall shut. "I will." he said, almost in his sleep.

She smiled as the world began to darken around her. Promises are promises, it said, look how yours came to be. They are hardly ever kept. Caspian will find a way. She told it, If anyone can it would be him. Believe what you will, but I am here, engraved into your very being. I may go silent but I will never leave. I am the eternal voice of truth and I cannot be shaken away. But you were wrong and you were. Truth cannot be wrong. If you are doing wrong then you cannot do good, it is impossible. Yes it is possible to not do either but never both. Rest girl, you are tired. The words seemed almost like venom, like he was waiting for her to do something so he could capture her in a trap. Somehow she thought it would be a nightmare. They came and went since she went to the island, but then again some of them had been wonderful showing her a life with Caspian and her children. "If you do kill it do it soon. It must be wrong to be destoried. Everything it tells me I will tell you and we can defeat it."

"We will, I promise." Caspian said, wrapping his good arm around her, and then finding a comforatble spot for his casted arm ontop of that. The man smiled. "I'll kill him dead and thow it to the sharks off the shore." Even if it was just a voice, he would find its source. It couldn't just be magic, this was far too complex. There must be something more behind it all... something hidden. Caspian would find it. And when he did, nothing would stand in his way.
