Caspian was knelt down by the stone table, as he had been every day for the last few months. The King was silently praying to the Great Lion to help him be more aware and cautious, and to be a better King. He prayed for Susan and his last remaining child's safety, and prayed that no danger would come to them ever again, especially Lamont. He prayed for the Lion's return, and prayed for the death of his cousin. All of this was said silently in his mind, and his eyes were closed. He wore a cloak over his clothes and leather armor. It was cold out today. His sword was bound to his waist by his belt, and a dagger lay hidden in each of his boots.

Melodia was still traveling around on the land, unsure of what to honestly do with herself. A few people, especially some very nice fairys had given her some clothes to wear, but she just didn't feel right in them. Shaking her head, she discarded with the clothes in a nearby bush and headed for the Stone Table. She knew from all the legends that her grandmother had ever told her that Aslan had once been slain there. From all she could remember, the Stone Table had cracked in two. This was a sight she wanted to see for herself. Climbing the hill toward it, she shivered. The wind certainly didn't feel welcoming or friendly on her naked skin today. Though if she had come across clothes that were comfortable then maybe she would have worn them. Her bottom lip trembling as she shivered, she made her way up the hill. Though when she got there she saw someones back, it appeared to be a man. So far on her journey she'd had nobody to fear, so she walked right out of the bushes and up to the man. She didn't remember him well, but she had a feeling that he was familiar in some way. "Do I know you?" she asked, looking down at the mans back and seeing that he was kneeling before the cracked Stone Table. "Was Aslan here?"

Caspian finished praying and stayed there, unmoving. So far, none of his prayers had been answered, even in his months of praying. But he was sure that one day, he might see his efforts shine through. He could hear someone behind him, aproching. Their footsteps didn't sound threatening or dangerous, so he ignored them. Many people came to the Stone Table to pray or just to see it. But when he felt a tap on his shoulder he answered. "I don't believe so, -Argh!" Caspian yelled in suprise after he had turned his head. His hands flew over his eyes and he stood, looking away from her. "Have you nothing to clothe yourself with?" he asked into the darkness. Well, it was dark to him anyway. He had made himself blind.

"Nothing comfortable, sir. You see, I come from the waters of Narnia. Clothes are foreign to me, and the strangers, they gave me wool to wear. It made me itch..." Melodia blinked, curious as to why the man was acting in such a way. Back where she was from, everyone had always been naked and never had worn any type of covering on their body. "Why do you hide your eyes?" she asked, wondering if the man needed help or if he was just crazy in some way. "Does my body offend you?"

"Not to be rude or anything, but yes, it does." He took off his cloak and tossed it in her direction. "Take this, it's cotton." he said. Then he explained. "Humans wear clothes because it's considered respectful to conceal yourself from others, or something like that. I don't know, it's just courtious and civilized. We've always done it." Caspian said. "Don't you find it embarassing to run around naked like that?" His hands were still covering his eyes.

Melodia looked at the man, confused. It was considered civilized to wear such things as the garment he had thrown her? Shrugging, she put the cloak on as best she could. Though she still could see that most of her was still exposed, it was just her backside and head that was covered. So unless she kept the cloak firmly closed around herself, it didn't hide much. Closing the cloak tightly around herself, Melodia looked down at the ground, tears beginning to spill from her eyes. "I did not and do not know your customs, I'm sorry.." she sobbed, turning away from the man as her tears continued to flow. She didn't know why the man was being so cruel to her or so rude. All she had done was ask him a question. "I didn't mean to offend you....but where I come from, none of us have ever worn clothes...I had never even known what they were called until I stepped foot on dry land.."

"I'm sorry." Caspian said, feeling dreadful once again. It seemed that once more, the King was making mistakes. "You just startled me, that's all." He took his hands off of his eyes but didn't turn around just yet, incase she hadn't put it on properly. "Please don't cry. I didn't mean to offend you." Everyone had been crying because of him lately. "I didn't know that you were a Water Nymph." She had told him nothing of her species. But Caspian could remember a friend that had disappeared when he was about eight that was a Water Nymph. They had thought that Narnians were extinct, and he had assumed back then that his friend was a Talmarine. But since he had met Trufflehunter and Nickabrick, and become King of Narnia of course, he had been proved otherwise.

Melodia still stood with her back to the man, the cloak wrapped tightly around her as the tears still poured down her face. This man was confusing her, and it was hurting her head. "First you insult me and then you apologize.." she said, fighting back the tears. "I have no clue who you are, but I never knew humans were so cruel....If I had known I would have never came out of the sea." Wiping the tears from her eyes, she turned to glare at the man, eyes sparkling an icy silver. "At least the true Prince Caspian, who is probably now a king was never this cruel. Though what do I know? I haven't seen him in years..."

Caspian whipped around. Thankfully, she was clothed now, but that wasn't the point. "What did you say?" he asked. As far as he knew, he had never seen this person -Nymph, before. "And I wasn't being cruel to you." he defended himself. "Just ignorant. Yet again." he mumbled the last part under his breath. "How was I to know that you were a Water Nymph? You look exactly like one of my kind, a human."

Throwing off the cloak in anger, Melodia became crystal clear water water again. True she maintained the human shape, but she became nothing but pure, living water. Not a single part of her was solid anymore. Her eyes, however, were still glaring at the man. They were a blinding, deadly white. Because of how he had upset her, she was near hysterical. "Proof enough?!" she asked, dark clouds beginning to form overhead because of her rage. "Is that all the proof you need?!" Her chest rose and fell with her breathing. "At least Prince Caspian would know how to tell the difference between a human and a true Narnian creature, from the sea or otherwise...." Melodia's eyes sparked with electricity then, and the waves of the ocean in the distance began to rise and fall heavily, the sound of the waves rising and falling creating a roaring sound as the wind began to pick up.

Caspian jumped and dove behind the table. He looked up at the sky and shivered. "Calm down." he said. "I know you're were a Water Nymph, you didn't have to do that." Don't tell her who you are... A voice told him. So Caspian decided to play a little game. "What do you know of Caspian?" he asked. It felt a little odd to be talking about himself like this, but it was okay. He was curious now. The King had one of his bootknives in his hand now, not wanting to draw attention to himself by getting his sword from his belt. He probably wouldn't use the knife, it was for just-in-case matters.

The waves in the ocean began to calm down, but Melodia still stared at the man. In all honesty the man seemed a bit daft and delusional. As she did so, her eyes turned back to their liquid pools of silver. She did keep her form of being pure water, and her voice always remained the same no matter which form she was in. "Prince Caspian is probably by now King of Narnia. He and the four rulers called King Peter, Queen Susan, King Edmund, and Queen Lucy were all ordained by Aslan himself as rulers of Narnia. They were made so to bring peace to the land after the terrible rule of the one known as the White Witch. During her reign she made it always winter here, always winter and never Christmas. But that isn't all she did, she cursed my parents so they could only have one child, and later she killed them. I used to visit Caspian from the sea, I would speak to him through his dreams and communicate with him. Even though my grandmother never let me leave the sea until now, she still doesn't know that I'd been in contact with a human boy before."

Now Caspian couldn't help but laugh. It was the same, old Mel. He made himself stop only to ask another question. This game was fun. "The White Witch was gone long before Caspian's time." he said. "But why did you disappear when you were kids, without notice?" he asked. He knew that she would catch on sooner or later, but he just wanted to see how long it would take. How many questions that she would answer, before she realized it was him. He made obvious statements that would indicate that it was him on purpose, but he doubted that she would pick up on them through her anger. So the King just smiled, still laughing, waiting for an answer.

"I had no choice, my grandmother was raising me. There are still followers of the White Witch that are alive today. They and their descendants are still alive today. It was they, her followers that killed my parents. But it was the witch herself who cursed my parents so they could only have one child...." Blinking a few times, she assumed human form again. She took on the form of the human girl she had been when she had first walked up to the top of the hill and had tapped the man on the shoulder. With all the questions he was asking, there was something he was hinting at. But what was it. "But how did you know that it was 'we' who disappeared?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest and smirking. "We, meaning the Water Nymphs and merpeople.....Unless..." Stooping down, she picked up the cloak and wrapped it tightly around herself, her eyes returning to the human shape and form. "You're Caspian himself...in which case, I do believe I owe you this..." Raising a hand, a ball for moving water formed over her hand and she threw it at the man, just like she used to do when she was a child. "You're it!" Turning, she dashed down the hill away from him, still wearing his cloak.

Caspian laughed and put his knife away. He picked up a clog of dirt and whipped it at her, and dove behind a tree. Climbing up into the safety of the branches, he hid. The King picked bark off the tree and flicked the pieces at her. "Same old Mel!" he shouted. "Same stinky old Mel!" the man teased. Now he knew that he had to run. Not even a tree could save him now. "Slow poke Mel!" Caspian sneered, laughing.
