Annabelle soared over the sea, coming to a rough landing in the sand below. The white grains of rock splashed into the air as if they themselves were waves, crashing back down to join their identicle brothers like raindrops.
Lions tracks coated the beach behind her as she trotted along it, trying to remember the girl's name that she was sent to retrieve. Cecilia? No. Syra? No, that wasn't it either. Siara? Nope. Anna thought harder, her eyebrows bent in concentration. Syria! That was it. "Syria!" she called out. "Syria where are you?" Peter had said that she might still be in the forest, or at least that was where he saw her last.

Syria curled into a ball on the grass, shivering with a mixture of fear and cold. The fear overtook her. Where the heck was Lamont? she thought. She was beginning to thought that he had left the island already, leaving her behind. She let out a little squak at the thought of being her alone. She didn't like that. Her head snapped up at the sound of her voice being called. How did they know her name? She slowly stood, shivering slightly. "Y-yes?" she called back, pushing her messy, dirty blonde hair out of her eyes.

Her cat-like ears picked it up first, and then her beak. "Syria?" she called again. "Where are you?" Anna leapt into the sky to get a better view, her wings spanning out widely as she hovered. "Say something!" she called down, wanting to make sure that the little being that she saw on the grass was really her.

Syria looked around in fear, not being sure if she wanted whomever it was to find her or not. But she did want to get off this island. "I'm right here!" she yelled, jumping up and down and waving her arms, now looking to the sky. "Please! You have to get me off this island!" her voice was thick with the english accent now.

Anna dove downward, landing so close to the girl that had she landed a few inches to her right she would have knocked her over. "There you are." she said, laughing at the way she flailed her arms. "The Magnificent King has sent me to bring you back to Narnia." she reported. "Syria De'more?" inquired the gryphon. Her claws dug into the earth. Even in daylight, and without Lamont, the island had evil spelled over every tree and under every mountain. Anna liked a good fight. She always had. But this was a mission, and unfortunately Annabell wouldn't be able to fight today.

Syria's eyes went wide with awe as she saw the gyrphon. Her eyes grew even more wider(if that was possible) at the mention. "So he did make it out safely," she muttered under her breath. "Lucky him." she nodded at the question. "Yes, thats me,"

"Good." she said. "Hop on." Anna knelt down so Syria could get on her back. She laughed at her wide eyes. "Haven't you ever seen a gryphon before?" she asked. Obviously, Annabelle knew nothing about her passenger. Only that the King had requested her safe journey back to the Kingdom.

Syria hesitated before climbing on. She gently gripped her neck. 'Um..not really since I came to Narnia," she admitted with a laugh. "My life in England wasn't all that great before I came here anyways." she stopped herself as she mentioned her homeland. A lump rose in her throat.

Anna turned around to look at her questioningly. "England?" she inquired. "What's an 'England'?" The beast could see the sadness in her eyes. "Was it your pet?" she asked. Anna knew that people often took in dumb animals as companions. She had seen a boy once in Telmar that was weeping harshly as his parents burried a kitten.

The corners of her mouth twitched slightly. "Its a country not in this world," she explained. "Its also where Peter and his siblings are from. There was a bad war going on. A huge number of countries are fighting against each other and killing. Its called the second world war." she shook her head, looking away. "My parents died in a battle. My father was a corproal in the army and my mother was a nurse. I was only little when they died. I was raised in an orphanage until Lamont found me," her voice had gone harsh all of a sudden.

Anna turned around again. She hadn't expected in the least for that to be her answer. "I'm so sorry." she said as she heard about her parents. A disgusted snarl crossed over her face when Lamont's name was mentioned. How odd it must have looked on a gryphon. "That boy is from Hell." she commented. Then Anna looked up at the sky and across the sea. "Hold on." she said, but that was her only warning. The great animal lifted itself into the sky, her wings piercing the air as they pushed her forward.

Syria shrugged. "Its not that I really don't remember them anyways. Its just that I hardly ever think about them." she was somewhat startled by the sudden snarl from its voice. "Yes he is. He tricked me into going in Narnia with him."

"Oh but Narnia is a wonderful place." Annabelle said, thinking of her homeland. "You'll like it once you've had a better introduction." she told the girl. "Much better than any place in the world, in my opinion. There are mighty mountains and flowering forests, ravishing rivers and palatial plains." Annabelle flew higher and higher into the sky. "I'm sure you'll love it once you've really met it."

Syria smiled. "Hopefully I will," she mused. She still wanted to go back to England, but not by that much. She knew she didn't have a home to go to anyways. She sighed. "I guess this is my home now," she mused, thinking to herself outloud. "I really didn't have a home back in England."

[lol, nor I]
Anna sighed sadly. Gryphons could greatly feel anothers emotions when they were around them. Then a smirk crossed her face. "Have you ever ridden a gryphon before?" she asked, knowing now that the answer would be no. Without waiting, Annabelle flew up into a tight circle in the sky, being upside down for a moment and then back to her regular flight pattern. She turned back to Syria, laughing.
