Caspian nodded after he heard what Peter said. "I'll make the change." he agreed. Then Susan woke up and he looked down at her again. "We're almost to the ship." Caspian informed her. He looked up and pointed at the large boats. Lights could be seen in the windows below deck, as if the sailors had had a party or something. "I woke you up because you fell asleep and looked as if you'd seen the Devil." Caspian said. His feet carried him up the ramp and onto the ship. "Can you walk?" he asked her.

Susan spent a moment to try to look over herself. "I think so," She still wasn't entirely sure how strong she was but still pushed away from his body to try to stand on her own. He legs shook for a moment, but she was enough to make it to her quarters. Never before had she longed to sleep. She started to get there, but then turned back to Caspian, as if to invite him. She didn't need to say anything to him, she was sure he already could understand, and then kept going until she was in her room. She couldn't remember a time when she dressed faster. The feeling of cloth against her skin was comforting more than she had ever known it to be. And then the blankets around her body made the feeling even better. She was warm and comfortable now and maybe, just maybe, she could sleep without nightmares.
Try to think about something good," She told herself as she closed her eyes, This is all of Narnia, there must be something you could look foward to."

Caspian said good night to Peter, and then went to tell the Captain that they would be heading back to Narnia, and to ready the sails to leave this moment. The night crew could steer the boat while the others slept. He was surprised that they had only been on the island for a few hours, and already wanted to go back. But Caspian wouldn't answer any of his questions, partially because he was too tired to think of good enough answers to give.
He stepped into the cabin and quickly changed into his pajama pants in the closet. When he was finished, he climbed in bed. Caspian leaned over to kiss Susan good night as he always did, and lay facing her. The King couldn't sleep, his mind constantly throbbing in his head with worries and frights about Lamont and what he did to her. His teeth ground his teeth at his thoughts. Why would anyone, evil or not, want to hurt a lady? It was the highest shame and disgrace, and crime, that a man could commit. Silent tears fell down his face again, and Caspian made a promise to himself that his cousin would pay dearly for what he did.

The retired king looked to the girl instantly comming up with his lie. "I need rest," He told her, "It has been far too long since I have made that many changes so quickly. Once I have my time of rest then we shall leave for the mainland."

Something I look foward to . . . The thought echoed constantly as she drifted farther away from reality to the point where her sinces in this world meant nothing. Something I look foward to . . .
She heard the spund of screaming, though she could not place the voice. The tone intensfied in its amount of pain and fear and volume and only then did he realize it was her own. Her entire body felt as though fire coursed through it with each second. Her hand clasped around another, her only comfort. She could barely hear voices outside of her pain, but eventualy they came through. "It's alright," Someone said, "It's almost over." She could feel his hand whiping away the sweat that had formed over her brow and kissed her.
"Caspian . . ." She gasped, "I can't . . . It hurts too much."
"You can," He told her, "You're strong enough. Just a moment longer." But the moment he had stoppeed speaking the pain came again unlike ever before.
Then there was peace and silence. Caspian left her and she let her body relax and be still. She fought to slow her heart and her breath. Once her body seemed to have returned to normal she felt Caspian at her side again. His smile was broad and his eyes gleamed with eternal happiness. He kissed her once more and gave her the bundle he held. It stirred in the motion and she could not whipe the smile from her own face if she had wanted to.
"Susan," He whispered softly as he knelt beside her, "we have a son."
But at these words she woke instantly, even if she didnt want to. She had Caspian as her husband and then a child, a Caspian the XI. Was that was she wanted in all of Narnia?
She looked up at the man, the one who had been the father of their child moments ago, and saw that he was still awake. She moved her body closer to him and took one of his hands and placed it on her face. "Please try to get some sleep," She told him.

"What did he do to you?" Caspian finally asked her, because he could bare it no longer. The question had been shaking his brain since he found her in the forest. Regret soon filled him after the words left his tongue, and he felt as if he should have waited to ask her in the morning. "I'm sorry." he said quickly. Caspian didn't want to make her upset or anything. But still, he hoped that she might answer him. Her skin felt warm and smooth beneath his fingertips as he brushed her hair behind her ear and he held her hand in his, waiting for a response. It felt like the best thing in the World just to know that she was safe again. He would make sure that she was always safe, no matter what. Caspian's eyes met with hers, pleading that she tell him, or else the question would never leave his mind.

Susan hesitated as her thoughts conflicted with her emotions. The memories came again, this time pushing away what was a happy moment until it was nothing more than a ghost in the back of her mind.
"Lamont tricked me," She started, "I couldn't kill as easily as I thought I could, so I thought I could get him to talk, maybe even tell me where Lucy is. I didn't know she was safe. He cornered me, putting me against a tree and got so close that I couldnt even use my bow. I should've killed him . . . I should've been strong enough." She stopped again, she didn't want to say anything more, but then kept going. "He grabbed me by my throat so I couldn't breath. I tried to pull him off but I wasnt strong enough. I lost track of what was happening, I was afraid and confused and I still couldn't breath very well. But when I managed to see what was happening, it was too late. I was already naked and he abused me. I tried to use the knife you gave me but I dropped it and now I don't know where it is. He kept hurting me until my strength was almost gone and then he let me breath again. I -I couldn't fight him, I hurt too much to move much less fight. All I could do was scream and pray you or Peter or someone would hear me. But no one came. After a while I just blacked out. the next thing I remember is seeing you. I'm so sorry, I never wanted this to hapen." Now it was out for Caspian to hear. Now she was sure he would reject her.

Tears streamed down his face again. The story that Susan told him burned his ears. He had failed to save her. He had never failed before, but it would never happen again. Caspian pulled her into a strong embrace. He wanted so badly right now to hurt his cousin. To burn him, humiliate him, cut him, whip him, hang him, shoot him, anything to cause him pain. But what wanted even more right now was comfort Susan. "I'm so sorry." Caspian told her. "I've failed you." The King kissed her neck, where a little over an hour before Lamont had strangled her. "Are you alright?" he asked her. His heart pounded in his chest so loudly that he could hear it in his ears, maybe even from across the room if it were possible.

She felt his arms around him and in the first time in a long time, excluding her dream, she felt peace. She longed to feel this way, but when she heard the hatred and anger and sadness in her lovers voice the peace left once more. "You don't need to apologize," She told him offering what little comfort she could offer. Any moment he would turn her away and she would savor what she had. "You didn't fail, i did. I wasn't able to kill him. It was my mistake so it is my concequence." He kissed her and her skin shivered beneath his lips. She had not expected him to kiss her so soon after knowing. But then he asked her a question she wasn't sure she could answer.
"Are you alright?"
There were a thousand diffrent responses she could come up with. She had been violated my a demon of a child. She had not been strong enough to fight him off, she had practicly let him come. She chased Caspian away before going to him, doing just as he expected her too. In the end of it all he took the knife that she had promised to keep. Or maybe that wasn't the end of it all, but if it wasn't how could she tell him? How could she hurt him more than he already was?
"I think I'm alright," She said almost whispering and turning her head to avoid his eyes, "It's over now."

"You didn't fail." Caspian said, trying to comfort her. The hatred and rage at his cousin left his voice, and all that was left was kindness and love. "You just couldn't kill another human being. There's no shame in that." the man said. The tears had stopped rolling down his cheeks, and his heart had quieted to its regular beating.
When he saw her turn and evade his eyes, Caspian felt a little hurt. "Susan, you know you can tell me anything." he said honestly.

Susan still would not look at him, still ashamed at what could be, much less what was. But then she remembered her perfect dream, remember how happy he was. Maybe he could still be happy. "I think, there is a chance that I am pregnant." But the moment she said the words she regretted them. She had heard in school about other girls who made the wrong choices. How they end up with child and the fathers step out and leave them alone. They say they're not ready, say they can't handle a kid just yet, and leave the mother to the mercy of her parents and family. God, don't let him do the same.

Shock filled his entire body. His lungs froze as if Jack Frost himself had placed gallons upon gallons of ice inside of them. His heart nearly stopped beating. Caspian's arms tightend around her once again. The tears that had just recently dried came spilling out again. He was scared for her. "Oh Susan." he whispered. Caspian stroked her hair as he hugged her. He would really have to protect her now. "Are you sure?" he asked.

"I don't even know," She told him relieved as his arms tightned around her rather than pushing her aside, "If I could be then I probably won't be just yet. I'm just afraid that I might be." But if she was would she be able to care for a child. She was barely 17, hardly old enough to be a mother much less one alone if Caspian changes his mind about her, and knew nothing about how to raise a child. Her sister still wasn't found and was much to young for her to ask for help and there was no mother around to help walk her through the process. She didn't know what to expect or what to think, all she could pray for was for Caspian to stay beside her. "I could just be overeacting."

Caspian felt a little better, but he was still frightend. He looked her in the eyes and held her hand, letting go of the hug. "Whichever it is, I stand by you." he promised. Caspian was never one to break a promise. Never. He smiled at her encouragingly, knowing that if he was scared, he couldn't imagine her fright. He admired her for being strong. So far, he was the one acting like a cry-baby, when she hadn't even shed a tear. "I promise."

"I'll find a way to be sure when we find Lucy. For now I just want to forget it never happened. I want to rest and have more happy dreams." She said trying to hide the unending happiness in her voice. He still loved her just the same. Without thought or hesitation shepulled herself to where his head was and kissed his lips. "I love you," She whispered, "so much more then you know." She turned away from him, pressing her back into the warmth of his chest. Still holding his hand she wrapped one of his arms around her waist. Then she let herself want to sleep again, to let the dream overtake her again.
