Darkness started to come upon the island. Syria jumped in fear as she scrambled to her feet and ran off, not wanting to be alone. She ran off into the woods, metting Lamont on the way. She quickly fell into step beside him. She shot him a sideways glance. "Did you have fun with their majesties?" she asked in a soft voice. There was a scowl on her face as she spoke. She linked her hands behind her back, playing with them nervously. Syria bit down on her lower lip. Her eyes told him that she was holding something back.

"I did." He replied taking the knife he had taken from her as a trophy. He looked into the image of Aslan wondering why the face of the great lion was not like many other images of lions he had seen in the past. Lions roared, bearing their great teeth before a battle, but this one only watched with an expression of peace over his face. Almost as if he had no room in his heart for rage. He put his thoughts of Aslan aside and unsheathed the blade. In what little moonlight could filter through the trees the blade shimmered and gleamed in it's perfection. "And our goal is finnished here. All that remains it to return home in one piece without becoming the prey of a vengeful Caspian. The master will come to retreve us when he is ready."

Syria glanced at the knife with amazement. Her eyes sparkled. She was use to stealing things that she needed or caught her eye. But she knew that stealing from Lamont was asking for death. She was lost in thought. "Please tell me we're not going back to England," she said sternly. This was surprising for it was him who was stern with her, not the other way around. She looked worried as a thought crossed her mind. "Caspian won't be coming our way will he?" she inquired, tripping over a tree branch and almost falling. She gripped Lamont's arm to studyed herself. "I mean, after he's done with whatever business...." she let her voice trailed off.

"Your promise to mum?
the words he said tore through her mind, building it with rage from inside her. It was not something she meant to happen, espesialy to Peter or with Caspian standing so near, But all her untended enotions all became anger towards her brother from that single sentance.
"Is that pathetic promise all you ever think about?" She asked him harshly. "It's why you told us to leae when we first came here, it's what you keep saying now that Lucy's gone. When has our mother done anything to help us here. your promises are not the only ones broken. It's possible that Caspian has his own and I do as well. Lamont took those from me too."

Caspian gently took Susan from Peter's arms and brought her into his own. Tears streamed down his face. The man rocked back and forth slowly and stroked her hair. "Both of you, don't be mad at each other." he said. "The fault is mine. I shouldn't have let you run off, Su. I shouldn't have convinced myself that you'd be okay. I should have been there to protect you." Caspian's voice rose and fell with his tears. "I'm so sorry, Susan." he said. The King pulled her into a strong and loving embrace, refusing to let go of her. He had so many questions burning inside of him. But right now wasn't the time to ask them, and Caspian knew that. Instead he just held her tighter and whispered, "I love you." in her ear.

Len sighed. She could feel her anger boil inside her. There was so much going on and they were fighting. She stormed up to the three, her eyes started to glow red as she starred down the others. "All of you are being pathetic. We have a job to do. Lucy needs help and Peter don't you want to help Lyric? Why are you just winning over simple matters. The mist is getting stronger and the negative energy is great. The island is showing us its powers and it is just going to get harder from her on out" She half shouted.

Susan wanted to smile as Caspian held her, but she could only cry more. She had caused him to hurt, just as Lamont had wanted. He held her now, but when he heard what had happened, how she had let this happen, would he still hold her as lovingly.
"I-I had him." She studdered, "I c-could've killed h-him. He s-should be dead . . . but, but I let him . . . " She stopped, unable to speak of what he had done to her. It only caused her body to tremble and the memory of it to reapear in her mind. "This had nothing to do with Lyric, or Lucy, or Peter. This was about hurting you, Caspian, and I let myself fall into their hands. I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." he said to her. "He can hurt me all he wants. The important thing to me is that you're alive and safe, which you are. You're safe, Susan." Caspian said comfortingly. He would ask about what Lamont did later on. But now, he knew, wasn't the time. They were still in the woods, and anyone could still be here, listening and eavsdropping. "Let's get you back to the ship." he suggested, tears still streaming down his face.

The beast followed after the boy as he fled following after Susan's screams. He almost laughed as he franticly changed directions as he struggled to find her. All that came to his island gathered around her weak body. Humans are so weak. he thought, they gather and cry and blame eachother over nothing. Lamont struck hard, just as he said he would.
He, still in his tiger form, crouched and tenced his mucles in his hind legs facing his traitor. In an instant he sprang, pinning the boy to the ground by his shoulderes. He had planned what was almost like a taunting speech, but then at tle last moment changed his mind
"The boy you seek waits at the northern beach. go there if you wish to comfront him."

susan's body tenced as she saw the tiger attack her brother. She wanted to stand and fight, but when she jumped to stand and reach where she had dropped her bow and arrows. But not long after she fell back into Caspian's arms, simply too weak to do much else.
"You help him, probably even told him to do what he did to me." She said, "If I was stronger and if it wasn't for Lucy I'd kill you now. You'd deserve your fate."

Caspian's eyes went wide. If Susan wasn't in his arms, his reaction would have been quicker. He picked up his sword from where it lay and stood. The King laid Susan down softly on the moss and walked over to where the beast was on top of Peter. Traitor or not, they had been friends once. And Peter was Susan's brother, Lucy's brother, Edmund's brother. His sword came clashing down between the tiger's shoulder blades, Caspian could feel the vibration even in the handle of the sword. It wasn't enough to kill the beast, but by Aslan that was gonna hurt in the morning. He quickly leapt back to Susan, not wanting to leave her side for more than a few seconds.

The tiger roared as the blade struck his back. In an instant he rolled of the king's back and got to his feet again. Pain tore threw his entire body, just as it had many moons before. He shook his body, just as a dog might shake away water, but roared again ready to spring.
But then his thoughts began to spin as they always did. This was a battle he did not need to fight. This man was human, nothing more. the weakest of all beings because of the things they cherish. Yes, they can speak and write and make music and love, but the last of these things was their weakest point. It was why the king stood holding his blade in anger, why Peter had agreed to fight beside him and left his sister to Lamont's anarchist hands. Toy with his heart.
His tiger body shrank and his fur dissapeared to be replaced by pink flesh. His canine teeth and fangs became omnivorous and decreased in number to only thirty-two. Short, wavy dark hair flowed from his head. His knees and elbows reversed and his paws became hands and feet. The only thing on this creature's body that had remained the same during the transformation was his strength. The creature, that was now a man, stood and looked at the king with eyes that matched his exactly. Many of his features actually matched him, from his eyes, to his hair, to his height.
"It has been far to long since I have seen you." He said in a voice that sounded so much differently than the voice the tiger had. This voice held more of a Spanish accent to it that only Caspian seemed to have in all Telmar. "The last time I saw you, you were with your mother, but that was a long, long time ago."

Susan's heart praised Caspian as he struck the monster. It was the only blow that had actualy hit him since he had started the chaos. But then the beast turned aside and his body began to change. Susan could feel herself gasp involuntarily as he became human. He looked so much like Caspian, but she knew he was a monster just the same. Again she tried to reach, but stopped short. Even if she could reach them how could she actualy draw an arrow and fire.
"Who are you?" She said to the monster at last. She pulled Caspian's cloak that he gave her even closer to her body. She hated this exposed feeling in front of someone she didn't even know.

"F-father?" Caspian asked, stunned. It hit him like a ton of bricks. "I thought you were dead." Snap out of it Caspian. A voice inside his head told him. It was also his father's voice. Stop it, now! his mother's voice was second to speak. The King turned to look at Susan. She was real. She was alive. She was his strength. Caspian looked back at the image of his dad. It seemed real, but no love for his only son would shine behind his eyes, as they always had. No memories of fun or friendship shown on his face. He spit at his father's feet. "You're dead." he said. "Uncle killed you. I don't need you anymore, Papa." Caspian's voice was almost a whisper.

"I was, my son," He said stepping closer to him, "Or so I made it. To lose you would be to destroy all of the world, both Narnia and Telmar. You had your own prophesies, just as she did." He nodded to Susan, the only movement he had made towards the cowering girl. "You needed to survive your uncle's tyranny, so I gave into his demands to spare you and left. I came here to where this Island gave me power to change, to become nightmares. I told Peter to bring you to me, I wanted to test your strength. I knew you defeated your uncle not long ago so I came to the mainland. But all this, about you and the queen, I did not know. It gives my heart so much pleasure to see you love just as I loved your mother."
