The city of Ilendrasea, once inhabited by a people called the Silent Keepers, is now completely abandoned and devoid of life except for the animals and plants which have taken up residence within the city walls. Discovered twenty years ago by a group of Parthia sailor-explorers, much of the city and its surroundings have since been explored and looted. However, as a whole, the city remains a mystery. It covers many miles and hosts a vast number of secret passageways leading to large underground complexes. The superstitious say the entire place is cursed and that the Empire should stop exploitation of the area and its resources. They point to the recent crop failures in the providence of Trovea and Plague which has spread through the Empire with an alarming pace over the past three months. Others, mainly those loyal to the king, repeat that there is nothing to fear, the city is completely abandoned, and that their sufferings are a mere coincidence. The Empire needs the precious metals and resources to thrive in prosperity.
Either way strange things happen around the city: Nine-hundred Parthia citizens and workers have vanished, though there have been no reports of a death within the immediate area. Animals which have been captured such as horses, lions, small dragons, wolves, and goats have gone missing in the night without evidence of damage to their cages. Precious goods like gems and porcelain have turned to useless rocks and soil. And strange white lights have been seen in certain parts of the city during dusk and midnight. Despite all of these things, the Empire has not pulled out and they plan to remain on the large island for many years to come. Adventure seekers have recently been invited by the emperor to join the exploration. Will you join in?
