Caspian pulled Susan and Peter away from the flames that seemed to burst from no where. "Death cannont be cheated, you scoundrel!" The King shouted at his flying cousin. "I'll have your head for this!" Caspian was not a bloodthirsty man, but it couldn't be doubted that he wanted the last of his family to be dead. He didn't know what to do or say after he sheathed his sword. All he could do was look from Susan to Peter with mixed emotions. Lucy was alive, and in the mountains. But she was hidden, and apparently guarded. His cousin had returned to Narnia to avenge a life that no one in this world had taken, and they might still be lost unless Peter knew the way back. Caspian yelled out a curse and kicked his boot into a tree, ignoring the pain that now throbbed in his foot.

Susan dropped the stone and fell to her knees. She could not believe how afraid she was knowing Lucy was dead. But then she was alive in the mountains. But which was really true? Did he say she was in the mountains just to have them look there, or was she on the other side of the world, in the desert, and he only wanted to lead them farther. they had no more knowledge of where she was then when they had begun their search. They only knew who was behind it and part of what was helping them.
"Caspian," She said not looking up, "What do we do now?"

"We do what we can do." he said, offering her his hand. "We search for Lucy in the mountains and we search for Aslan wherever a soldier can travel. Where they can't travel we will send those who can fly." Caspian shivvered. "But first, we have to get back to the castle. Can you walk?" he asked.

Peter let out an angry snarl as Lamont flew away. He yanked imself out of Caspian's grip and stormed over to pick up his sword. He froze as an idea was running through his mind. His chest was rising and falling. He had a strange look in his face. Peter turned to face Caspian.
"Watch Susan for me Caspian. I'm going after him." the tone in his voice dared anyone to argue. His mind was set up. He was going after that man. He was going to find out where his little sister was. He looked at both of them.

He finished quietly, and then urged his stallion forward. They galloped at a break neck speed along the trails and paths, heading towards the mountain with only one thing in their minds. Finding Lucy. As they reached the slope that led up to the mountain, Edmund prepared himself for the small leap that Alehan would have to make. As the stallion launched himself forward, Ed helped him, and they were soon climbing up he mountain side paths, winding further and further upwards.[/ul][/blockquote]

Len wondered further from the protection of the center of the forest. She needed some new supplies and hoped there was a village nearby. Len was wearing a long sleeved black shirt with a short sleeved, gray tunic over it. She wore a long clack skirt. Around her wast was a belt with two skins, one with water the other with a healing ointment, and a dagger. She loved the smell of the forest and took in all the smells and sounds around her. A slight breeze blew the sound of voices towards her. She hurried toward the sound wondering what could be going on. She slowed as she neared the edge of the forest. Her bare feet moved silently along the ground. She looked at the people by the edge. Those are the kings and queens. What are they doing her? She wondered. She was partly hidden in the shadows. "So why is there going to be a fight during such a nice day." She said in a playful voice.

Susan took Caspian's hand and stood. She would not cry again, not tonight. The boy wasn't far and could still be followed. If they wern't seen perhaps they could still catch him. Edmund had already left behind Peter, but she or Caspian had no horses and were left alone with the girl who had just joined them.
"Good timing for you," She said to her, "It would have been better for us if you have been here sooner. We needed another warrior. But he's gone now, and the hunt goes on." she said thinking silently, even if the mountians were so far away. There was no way she could catch him on foot, yet she walked on, following him to the east.
but . . . the moutains are to the north.
"Caspian, where do you suppose he's going?"

"I don't know." he said, staring at the spot in the sky where his cousin had disappeared from his sight. "Which way is the castle?" he asked. Caspian prayed that Lamont wasn't going there, but it would make sense if he did. The remaining Rulers were out here, lost in the middle of the woods. Peter and Edmund rode to the mountains, and the whole time the Telmar Castle was unguarded by them. Lamont wanted Caspian's throne. Please don't let go to the Castle. The King begged in his mind. "You don't think he would go to Telmar, do you?" Caspian asked Susan, and waved a greeting to the newcomer.
