Caspian beamed and nodded. "Just like his mother." he said, wrapping his arms around the both of them. Galen snuggled against her, happy to have both of his parents together again. "He missed you too." Caspian told her. "He wouldn't go to sleep until I showed him your picture. He makes me put it by his crib or else he gets upset."

"Awwww, mommy missed you too." She had never thought that visual stimulation could help him sleep. she had thought the only thing that could keep him from sleeping was that she couldn't sing to him anymore. She could understand why it didn't effect him though, she wasn't much of a singer to begin with. Now she was with him and he probably wouldnt be sleeping anytime soon. The time she spent with him was rare now and neither of them would want to sleep now that they were together. He laughed again and looked batween Caspian and Susan, his grip tightening with each passing moment. After a while she thought it would hurt and pulled her hand away to tickle him. Again he laughed harder, squeeling like a piglet until she stopped. The moment he was silent she curled against Caspian again smiling and still laughing. "Thank you Vidar, I never could have done this without you." And of course her words were answered silently, What if it was Lamont's training that forced him to be this strong just to survive that made him like this?

"You're welcome, Cuddley." he told her, kissing first her and then his son. The nurses all left, leaving the family some time alone. Galen was happy, and it didn't seem as if he could stop smiling. "You're cheeks are going to hurt if you keep smiling so big, Galen." Caspian warned him, though he knew that the boy wouldn't listen it him. Caspian loved to see him smile, loved to see Susan smile. His favorite thing in the world was to hear them both laughing happily. It was like music to him.

"Not cuddley, Cuddle-bug," She corrected him. The events had put her in an extremely playful mood that probably was too careless for her own good. If something were to happen, as they always do, she would probably be to happy to be able think clearly. "Take it back. Your not allowed to call me anything but Cuddle-bug and your the only one allowed to call me it at all. Make the words go away."

"Cuddle-bug Cuddle-bug Cuddle-bug." Caspian said, smiling bigger. Galen laughed again. "Oh, you want to see something?" Caspian asked his wife, and without waiting for an answer he spoke to Galen. He couldn't believe that he hadn't shown this to Susan before. "I taught Galen a trick. Galen, say hello to Mommy." The boy waved his hand at her happily.

"He's only a month and a half old he cant talk yet." she said still laughing. The boy was too young to be crawling even, but he did. If he was anything like normal children he would still be lying in a crib sleeping and thrashing his arms around as the world took care of him. But he was not like normal children.

"No, but he can wave!" Caspian said, watching Galen, whom was still waving and waiting for his mother's aproval of the cool trick that he could do. The King couldn't stop smiling. He was happy that maybe, just maybe, Susan might be coming home. Caspian held her hand and kissed her fingers softly. "Will you stay?" he asked, wondering if she had made up her mind.

She smiled and laughed with him as she noticed her mistake and waved back to her son. She smile widened to its limits only to be knocked aside at his question. "I can't," She said sadly, "Something is holding me here and I can't break it. I'm trapped here until I can. Being with you today proves that I truely am happy with you, but the moment Lamont comes in my head keeps telling me things I don't mean, I keep feeling things I don't want to. I don't know what to do, but leaving hurts me worse than staying. I'm sorry."

"I understand." Caspian said. He rested his head ontop of hers, mostly so that she couldn't see the sadness in his eyes. "When will you come home?" he asked. "When will I see you again?" Galen noticed the change in his father's voice and snuggled closer to Susan and Caspian.

"Soon, I hope," She said looking up and touching him as comfortingly as she could, though she knew it not be much. "Every chance I have I will go to our tree and wait for you, but I don't know when it will be or how long I can stay. But even when I leave I would be putting you in danger because of the risk of Lamont realizing I left and coming after me. If he found you he'd kill you. Aslan know's what he'd do to Galen."

Caspian nodded sorrowfully, understanding. "Okay." he said. Galen looked up at his mother and father, smiling and trying to make them smile, too. But Caspian couldn't. He placed a gentle hand on his son's head. He couldn't imagine what Lamont might do to Galen. Caspian scooped Galen into his arms and held Susan tightly. Why did Lamont want so badly to come after his family? Why wasn't war enough? Caspian didn't want Susan to go, but he knew that she had to. But he would try his best to make her time here happy, and smiled again, hiding his sadness from her. "I love you both." he said.

"I love you more," She said for the millionth time since she had begun to tell him she loved him. No matter what happened he was always careful to tell her he loved her and she was sure to give the same response. "But there is no need to leave now." She couldn't say much more than that though. She was too busy enjoying him holding her as tightly as he did.

"I love you more." he argued, and kissed her. Galen watched them and made a face as if it was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen. Caspian laughed. He could see Galen, after he had grown up a bit, teasing him and Susan for kissing. Something that Lucy used to do whenever she saw them. Caspian kissed his wife again to see what Galen would do, and he put his small hands on Caspian's face and Susan's face, trying to make them stop. "Oh no you don't!" he said, tickling the child.

Susan laughed, the sadness of the subject of never returning to his side gone. The boy was like any boy in grade school, never likeing the the sight of their parents loveing eachother or anyone else for that matter. But when he was even older he would be the one searching and longing for love of his own. Come now Susan, think of who he is like now. The boy is nothing more than a collection of the various people who have effected you. now Lucy's spirit shows through him. She didn't want to think about her lost sister and helped Caspian tickle him and he screached happily until he struggled to breath. And then they stopped as she held him tight as he coughed and she feared she would lose him until his breathing normalized. "We should stop," She said as she rocked the shaking child with fear still in her eyes.

Caspian looked at him. He seemed fine now, that they had stopped tickling him. "He's okay, Susan." Caspian told her reassuringly, squeezing her shoulder when he saw the fright in her eyes. "He was just laughing too hard, that's all." Galen looked up to them, smiling as if he was planning something. Caspian couldn't help but chuckle at this.
