Character's Full Name: Katrina Ravenfrost
Character Model: none
Species: elf
Nicknames: Eagleclaw
Appearance: like all elves she is tall for her age (if she were judged in human standards) with pointed ears that is normally covered by her long silver-tipped black hair. It is this strange mark in her hair's end that grants her the name Ravenfrost and her identity
Personality: Katrina is not like the other elves. She is infected with pride for the very thing she was born to be, something no other elf, save for one, can have. Because of her pride she is often driven to prove herself when things happen and she begins to falter. Afraid of losing this self image of a warrior she will do anything to fight and make herself appear great again. The flaw of her emotions is that they seldom are controlled. Her ignorance to recognize emotions often lead her to react with anger. In times of great frustration her fingers spread and bend at the knuckles forming an eagle's claw with her fingers. Anyone knows that when they see the eagleclaw to either apologize or run. There is only one emotion she has come to understand aside from these two, but she will not speak it.
Alliance: Katrina is lost in her own world and knows not what to do
Likes: The truest of things she loves has betrayed her and she will not speak of it
Dislikes: The traitor that will not return
Character Background: Katrina was born in the forest among the elves. Her parents, Norma Treeflyer and Fangor Bearpelt, died while she was young. Another elf, Sortin Hidenhand, who had no children to call his own came to her rescue and raised her. He had his own secret that he lived by that he passed on to her, one that could be used by only two beings in Narnia at any one time, master and apprentice: The magic of Wand-wielding. His wand was oak, carved to resemble thousands of leaves across it, and held a unicorn tail hair inside it. At first her training consisted of learning and memorizing spells and their pronunciation as though it were another language. After years passed and she thought she could learn no more he took her from her forest home to the the mountains. There she learned to sing a spell that was only to be used in the making of her wand. From the ground came a small willow sapling that divided and there lay her wand carved with the image of a lion in full stride around it. Her master only touched it before pulling away as if it burned him. Dragon's heartstring was what he claimed was inside. At first she felt what may have been pity for the dragon she may have killed to make her wand, but then she didn't care. For decades of immortal life Katrina trained making her body and mind and magic powerful. Only when the master claimed he could teach her no more did she stop. He then left her to the mercy of the world where she instantly broke one of the sacred laws of Wand-wielding: Never let anyone see your wand or you using it. She had broken both. But with this power came much attention, both good and bad. While some adored her for her healing their sick or weak others blamed her for things that were not her own fault. This fame was the start of her pride. As the humans of the village grew tired of her tricks she soon moved on to a castle where she then met a King Caspian and his wife Ophidia and their son, also named Caspian. She stayed with them for a while as performer, defender, and friend. When Ophidia disapeared she felt responsible and a small portion of the blame was placed on her. It was simply the way of humans to blame what they do not understand for things they cannot understand. She accepted her punishments for a short while, but when it came to be that she was to be put to death she could not let it be. She had no apprentice and thus the eternal tradition of Wand-wielding would die with her if she allowed them to kill her. Desperate she turned to the brother of the king looking for some way to live. He gave her an order and when she tried to tell him it was wrong he found more than enough reasons for her to do it. When she had finished her task he arranged transport to the Lone Islands where she lived, her wand hidden, under the care of a new master - this one being a slave trader. With a spell she forced her ears to be rounded and she lived for many years with her identity unknown. For all those years she hated her life and when news of the child she had helped raise came to her she fled back to Narnia knowing the world would not know what she did, nearly a generation had passed and those who were intelligent enough to think it was her who caused the crime were dead. She lived in Narnia again as Caspian became king and the kings and queens left. Many things happened in that time, things she would never say to any soul but one and again she fled leaving to the northern mountains not wanting to get caught in the slave trade. She lived in the cave where her wand tree had grown only to die, silently grieving. No one say her from then on, no one knew what happened to her or where she went. No one cared enough to investigate. The few friends she had had moved on and she was forgotten. But perhaps one day she could return . . .
Character Family:
Norma Treeflyer - name given for her exceptional ability at tree climbing - mother - diseased
Fangor Bearpelt - named for his uncommon bear-colored skin - diseased
Sortin Hidenhand - named for the wand he kept hidden - Wand-wielding master - left her long ago
Special Power: Wand-wielding is all she knows
Sample Post: Katrina stepped into the darkness of the room, her wand in hand. There was no light from the moon but she needed none. Her elven eyes saw in darkness just as easily as a human dose in day. In front of her, close to the window on a decorated bed lie the king, holding his blankets tightly as the memories of his lost wife tormented his dreams. How could she do this? She had to at least give him the nobility of seeing her. She kicked the side of his bed and he snapped back into reality.
"Katrina . . ." He grumbled as he awoke and looked outside to a moonless sky unable to tell how early she had disturbed him, "It's late, or early, what brings you here?"
He's shown you nothing but kindness, you can't do this! "I have something to ask you." She said letting her wand drop to her side. When he said nothing, only nodded, she continued on. "If you die what will become of your throne. Young Caspian the X is not ready."
"I have my plans in motion," He said, "It's been ready since Ophidia death."
"So you expect to die?" She asked confused
"I do." he said, "One day soon I will join my love in her live of the underworld. I can imagine she is as lonely as I."
"But your son-"
"I will stay with him until he is of age. But should something happen I am ready. A council has been put in place. They will rule Telmar until Caspian is fit to take over for them. All is well."
"I understand." Silence hung between them for a long time and she only stood there with her head hung as the stars moved outside. The kind king knew something was wrong, but said nothing waiting for her. "Never," She said at last, "Never trust Miraz." Bound by her word she raised her wand and pointed it to the king's chest and spoke the two words she hoped never to use. "Avada Kedavra." the king made no sound, the spell made no mark.
He was dead.
The moment he fell she ran, faster and longer than any human could, until she reached the docks where Miraz was waiting for her to send her away. "Is all done?" He asked when he saw her.
"Yes," She gasped thankful for the run. It had drained her of the abilty to cry, "Today, in his sleep, the good king is dead."
