"I can't do any more," She whispered again as the great pain tore through her and she screamed again. When if faded, only slightly, she felt her body begining to fall completly limp and her eyes beginning to close. Her heart screamed for her to live, there had to be a way out, a way to live. But her body and the voice found none and gave in. "I'm not strong enough." Again weakness would seperate them, just as it had with her inability to kill Lamont when she had the chance, only this time she would never come back. "Take care of my child."

"NO!" Caspian screamed, tears running from his eyes now. "I WON'T LET YOU DIE!" His arms brought her closer to him now, holding her tightly. "Susan. . ." he said. "Open your eyes, please!" he yelled. "Don't go!"

She opened her eyes, but only enough to see his shape through the blur of her tears. His embrace gave her comfort and pain. She was not meant to held tightly now. "I don't want to leave you." she whispered to him touching the side of his face. It is beter to die in hope than in despair, The voice said, You know all this torment will end in it. Why not let it end here? At least Caspian will have your child to live for." Stop telling me these things, she begged the voice. But she knew it spoke truth. Her life held nothing but torment save for the moment's spent at Caspian's side. But her heart found light in the darkness of joy of death. If she would give her life for him and he would do the same for her perhaps he would suffer the same if he lost her. She couldn't force him to suffer. She couldn't. She had to live. As if sparked by the will to survive the pain tore through her and she could hear something after it. She was unsure of what it was though, all she could hear was her own mind screaming, but the pain was at last begining to fade it seemed.

Len's head snapped at the sound of the great lion's roar. She was distracted for a brief second but the child was coming. Taking her jacket she used it to wrap the young boy that Susan gave birth to. He was screaming but mostly healthy. Len took the flower and extracted the nectar, pouring it into her water skin. She heated the water before forcing the warm liquid down Susan's throat. "That should help with the pain and give her some strength. My question was not answered. It there another magic at work!?" She demanded sternly. Len took the paste and placed it on the baby near the belly button so the cord would break. She washed the child and wrapped it nicely in her jacket. She handed the baby to Caspian. "This might hurt" She said before thrusting some of her magic through Susan. She sent a fire through the girls body to speed the heart an flush some color into her pale skin.

Caspian smiled. His wife would live. The baby was then thrust into his arms, and the man looked down at the little bundle. It cried loudly, but he didn't care. It meant that it was alive, too. Caspian's eyes sparkled with love for the little baby. He kissed its forehead, and handed the child to Susan. "You did it, pretty girl." he told her, his voice soft but happy. "We've got a little baby boy." He moved the jacket so that Susan could see the face of her son. Caspian kissed her lips gently. He was so happy that he couldn't even taste the sour paste that Len had just forced her to drink. "Look." he said, smiling. Lamont may have started the life of this child, but it was Susan and Caspian's baby. They were the parents.

Susan almost gagged as the bitter liquid was forced down her throat. She wanted to scream again as the fire passed over her. Why was it that each time the witch used magic it seemed to hurt? But now she could ignore it as her som was placed in her arms. She held it close to her breast and still it screamed and kicked. She wrapped the jacket around it tighter, constricting its limbs but not enough to hurt he boy, and it slowly began to quiet. They had a son. She kissed the boy and held his head close to her as the thought overwhelmed her with happiness. She wanted to stand, wanted to dance in Caspian's arms like they did when they married. All the wanting and wisheing from her dreams had become reality. She brushed the top of the boy's head very lightly with her fingertips. He had only thin, almost unnoticeable, whisps of black hair. His eyes he kept closed, but she longed to see them. "Where is Aslan?" She asked after a long while unable to tear her eyes from the boy, "I want him to seee our son."

Caspian wrapped his arms around Susan and the baby, snuggling his head against her's and placing it on her shoulder, looking down at the child. "I don't know." Caspian said, still smiling. "We will search for him after you and the baby have had a chance to rest." The man turned his head slightly and kissed her neck, then turned back to the babe. "You're so wonderful." he said to her, stroking the almost bald head of his son. "You did it. I'm proud of you." Nothing could wipe the smile from his face. Caspian looked up as Len's question finally reached his ears. In his joy he had forgotten that she was here, and that fact made him feel guilty. She was the reason that Susan and her son were alive. "Only a bit of unicorn magic, I think." he answered. Then he said, "Thank you, for everything that you've done." a smile on his face. "Because of you, Susan and our son are living. We can't thank you enough." His voice was sincere, and as he held his family in his arms he knew that it was true. They could never thank Lennia enough for what she had done for them.

Distracted at first by fear and pain and then by unlimited happiness, Susan too had almost forgotten about the witch. She only knew that when she was near something would happen to her body and it would only make her hurt worse. But the Cuddle-bug had cast aside all thoughts aside from her families. She leaned against her husband's chest savoring his words. No beast in the world didn't enjoy flattery. But after a while, she began to think he spoke more than what was true. "Aslan still must see this." She said, "I still want him to see our son." She spoke with the pride mother's usually have whenever their child is born. Seh would show everyone everywhere. It was simply in her instinct.

"Alright!" Caspian said, laughing. "After you've rested." He looked down at his son and held his lover tight, enjoying the fact that she was happy again, and her smile was back. "What shall we call him?" asked the King. His son was the most amazing thing that he had ever seen, or probably will ever see. Caspian tickled his son's neck, and the boy smiled and squirmed for a moment. The man laughed, "He's ticklish like his Momma." he told her. "I bet he has your eyes once he opens them."

"I thought you would keep the tradition of your fathers? If it's not what you want then name him something else then it is your choice. The father always names his firstborn, or at least that's what it was like with my family. I guess that's what I thought it would be like with yours as well." She leaned against him letting him cradle her while she craddled their son.

"Well, we're married aren't we? I wanted to decide on a name together." Caspian said, then kissed the baby in her arms. He wanted to dance with her, or run for miles, or throw a party, or just something to celebrate. He wanted Peter and Lucy and Edmund to see their new nephew. Caspian to run and play and dance, he was so happy that the joy within him would not let him be still. But it felt good and right to have Susan and the child in his arms. "What do you want to name him?" he asked.

"It dosn't matter to me, as long as you are happy with it." She took his arm for support and pulled herself to her feet. "Let's find Aslan," She sugested, "Maybe he can give us some idea on what to call him when he gives his blessing."

Caspian couldn't help but laugh. She wanted so badly to see the Lion that she wouldn't even stop to rest. "Okay!" he said, smiling. Caspian stood and scooped her into his arms. He liked to carry her. She was his Cuddle-bug. The King turned to Len, "Why don't you come with us?" he invited her. "We're going to see if Aslan has returned." Then Caspian began to walk in the direction that they had heard the roars. He smiled. "Do you think he'll smile when he sees our baby?" he asked Susan.

Len smiled as she watched the happy couple. The baby was healthy and Susan was gaining her strength back. Len cleaned up her materials. She placed the paste in a small container. "Susan, use this paste if you have any pains. It will help and won't sting" She said. Len stood and stretched her mussels. She looked around not paying much attention about the child's name. She looked back to Caspian when he asked her about going to see Aslan. "I would be honored" She said.

"Thank you." he said to Len when she gave Susan the paste. Caspian was glad to know that Susan wouldn't be hurting anymore. "Do you think he'll still be there?" Caspian asked, for either Susan on Len to answer. They had heard the Lion's roar hours ago, during the day. But now it was evening, and the King wondered if Aslan might be in the same place or somewhere else.
