"NO!" The beast stood and pounced on the falcon. It screeched and batted his wings unable to get away. Eventualy he let it go but dropped his head in shame and regret. He didn't want to say this, it was not his place to say. But to stay silent would be to sentence his son to death and Susan to a life of suffering. Caspian would never take to that, would rather take the suffering himself then to see her hurt. For his sake he spoke. "The queen . . . she is with child. Your child. I heard her tell Caspian while they were at Cair Paraval. I can hear better then the humans give me credit for."

"She is?" The boy said with more surprise in his voice. He hadn't expected it to come so soon. It was Tash's blessing that led this to be so. "And my cousin knows this by now you say. Very well then, Swordfeather, you have new orders. Keep watch over Susan, tell me what is happening when you find out and return the news to me. And you, beast, stay out of the way. I will deal with Susan and Caspian myself." He mounted his horse and rode off as the falcon set his course to the keep. He would be a father soon and he will take his son for himself.

Caspian collapsed at the orders. "Caspian, forgive me." He whispered. But the boy was gone, there was nothing he could do, not without making things any worse, if that was possible. He dropped his head and let his tears come slowly what had he done . . .
