Lamont rode through the forest with his tired steed slowing with each stride. But the whip struck his flank and he accelerated once more. All through the journey the boy kept his mind on one thing: the shape-shifting beast he once called master. The beast never actualy returned to the island where he was left abandoned with his worthless excuse for a servant. Only with the help of his loyal allies, who were only loyal through fear, did he escape though the girl was probably left behind. But the beast couldn't hide. He was in the same place each day since he had known him. He would be there again.
Not far, perhaps a mile from Cair Paraval, was a branch off from the great river. It was between here and the waterfall that they found one of the many places young lucy was hidden in. Lamont dismounted and approached the well hidden entrance. The smell of blood was thick and some could be seen on the ground. The monster had made a kill.

The beast looked up from his hiding place. His kill, mostly torn and bloody with pieces missing from it, lie under his chimera paws. He took in the scent of the intruder and growled. But when Lamont came forward he bowed, embarrassed by the action. Less than a month ago it would be the boy bowing to him. But the demons had given him great power through their fear of him and the changeling was now at the bottom of the totem pole where he never hoped to be. He didn't care. "What is it you want boy." He growled unable to keep the tone from his voice, "It took me many days to track down this unicorn, much less kill it."

"You will worry about your meal later." He told him drawing the sword the monster gave him not to long ago. "For now I have buisness with you. First, you left me stranded on an island with no one but that girl to play with. Meanwhile my Susan if off with my cousin letting him do as he pleases. And why?" Before the monster had enough time to respond he spoke again, "Second, you have taken so very long on this mission of yours. I don't actualy believe it is me you are serving anymore, but Caspian."

"Through who do you believe this?" The chimera roared standing. His snake tail hissed and lashed out, as if to bite the boy, but didn't, "You know where my loyalties lie, just as I know yours."
(there's not much for me to say)

"One of the centaurs, Snowtail, told me as I took a whip to her lover's flank." He almost laughed, "It is almost strange to see what others will do for the sake of their loved ones. The human heart, above all, is the eaisest to destory." Almost as if he could see the beasts thoughts through his eyes he spoke again, "I know, I killed my mother, even if it was by your order. You thought I couldn't do it, but I did. My father killed Caspian's father as well as countless Narnians. Caspian and his lover killed my father. I killed my mother. It seems that it is in our bloodline to kill eachother until none are left to take the Telmarine throne. Perhaps even I will be overthrown by my own son. He would truly prove his strength to the world then. But I see what you're thinking, if a human heart is so eaisly broken then why hasn't mine shattered? the answer is simple: I am not entirely human."
(gives me more room to talk)

"What are you then?" The beast dropped to a crouch, not nesseraly to show submission, but not to completly show aggression, "You haven't been cursed by the island to change your form like me. The curse was reserved to me alone, it was my agreement when I took it upon myself. To live generations longer that I may one day see my son become strong and that none other take this burden."

"Ah, so the beast admits Caspian to be his son, just as Snowtail said." He said, "This may be eaiser than I thought. But no, I am not like you, the Island is kind to me. But the same voice that gave you your curse told me many things. I know that I am no longer human, but a god."

"What? You believe yourself to be a son of great Aslan." the chimera roared. "Aslan has no mate, therefore no children. No one in narnia has eve seen another living lion, much less a lioness to bear aslan's children."

"Oh god no, not of Aslan's blood. The lion is a coward, running away when I show my face. I am a son of Tash, the vulture god, the destorier of hearts, the lord of Calormen. That is why they are rallying agianst Narnia, their lord has commanded them to."

"So you are a god then." The beast roared disgusted. "You are a fool, nothing more. There is Aslan, and his opposite Tash. Nothing more. No child, no minor lords, no other immortal beings. There is only the two, good and evil, light and dark. The world, both here and Narnia hangs in balance between the two."

"Realy now? Could a child, not much older than prince Edmund, be able to harness enough magic to command the will of high Kong Peter? Could a boy be cunning enough to make these plots the way they are, and none have found ways around them just yet. How could a boy be strong enough to be able to fool and overpower Queen Susan? And how dose a boy have the ability to put fear into the hearts of so many demons that they will rally to the land of the living, pouring from the gates of hell, to serve me. It is because of Tash's blessing. It is because I am his warrior, his immortal servant. And as for balance, there is no need. One side can control all and then the influence of light will be nothing." He took only a moment's pause before he shifted the conversation back to the beast himself. "Besides, your own human heart is one that can be broken unlike my immortal one. If I were to tell you that thousands of demons stayed watch over the castle of our fathers' fathers. The moment my word is given they will attack and my cousin will die."

"You lie," He said sure the boy was bluffing "Your demons are nowhere near the boy, They wouldve been seen or noticed by someone, somewhere, and Caspian would know."

"Oh they are there." He assureed him. "But I can hold them back, make them leave, but that desicion rests in your, um, paws. I am sure that there is something you know that you are not telling me. And I am sure there thousands of things you have told him. It is the reason you have been distancing yourself from me. Now, tell me what you have to say."

The beast growled, "I have nothing to tell you that you don't already know."

"Alright then." the boy went to the entrance of the hiding place and whistled. Both the steed that Lamont had come here on and a black falcon came to him. "Swordfeather," The falcon spread his wings and bowed his head, "Send words to the demons. Tell them to attack. Tell them to ensure that my cousin is wounded enough that when I join them I can kill him myself with little trouble. And make sure that Susan is brought to me."
