Aslan padded slowly through his hiding place. As he walked there was no sound of his pads against the stone as if h was hunting a prey that was not there. Dim torches was the only lighting in this vast room where the young child lay sleeping, tied to the stone table that he once died on.
He touched her softly with his nose pushing against her chest where dry blood cracked under the small pressure. He did not need to say a word to the child, she would awaken on her own.
"Aslan!" She cried with infinite happiness. He told her then that she must keep her voice down if she must speak, "I knew you would come for me. I just knew you would."
"Yes," He whispered, "I am here. But for now you must not tell a soul. This is where you are needed and it is where you must stay for now."
"But why? You're here now! you can save me and get me out of this place and stop Lamont before he hurts one of them, if he hasn't already."
"I helped to save you and Caspian once before. Things cannot happen the same way twice, dear one, and in this battle you all must fight on your own. now rest."
Lucy said nothing, heartbroken by his words but said her goodbyes and closed her eyes as the lion left her to be alone.
Once she slept he left the changed his shape. The lion body remained the same, yet the muzzle and mane changed to form a beak and feathers. From his back came two powerful wings as he took hold of a griffon's body
He raised these great wings and lowered them with enough force to lift him off the ground. when he was high enough he called across the land in a voice that could only be heard in the minds of those who served him.
"Servants of the rightful ruler of this land!" he called, "Go now to the stone table and await your orders! It seems that one of you has caused some of our plans to be changed!"

Lamont was one of the first to reach the stone table with a fw of his followers. As each passing day came and went he debated over if he was in control of the monster or the other way around. In either case, once the throne was his it meant nothing. he came and saw the griffon and knelt as would a soldier to a king. This powerful being commanded respect from those who worked with him and if it was not given they were crurely punished. Then he held his body still untill he would speak again and the rest of his followers would come.

Lyric passed through the trees at incredible speed, batting away branches and overgrown vines as she made her way to the stone table. She was shaking. It was nerve wrecking getting out of the castle, and away from Peter. He'd been with her all day and didn't exactly want to leave her. She didn't want to leave him, either, but she went, anyway. She had to, or Lamont...
Well, who knew.
Breaking into the clearing, she ran up to the stone table, falling on her knees beside the prince, for one, from weariness, and two, to bow. "Milord..." she said, feeling a bitter taste in her mouth as she said the words. She didn't like to think of him as king or any other authority. He didn't deserve it...

Cotnar raised his head and roared a griffon's roar as the last of his followers joined them. It was not much to call an army, but what was there would be loyal, but by treacherous reasons rather than true loyalty.
"The first movement to power in in affect. To those of you who do not understand this movement it is because you are not trusted well enough with this information. But it has come to my knowledge over the past few days that one of you have something more that you can offer me. You will step forward to accept your new assignment or your punishment will be brutal."
He stopped for a moment looking over the pathetic lot of humans: the weakest of all creatures. Every now and then he would see a dwarf among them, but it was not common. Never would he see a centaur or a talking beast. He had not become that powerful just yet. Then he leaped to the top of the ruins that were in front of the fortress where Prince Peter had fought many moons before.
"Lyrica Moonspirit!" He roared, "Step forward!"

She cringed upon hearing her name, and stood, slowly making her way towards him. It took quite an effort not to tremble. She walked up to him, bowing her head in respect, and so he wouldn't see the fear in her eyes. "Y-yes... s-sir..." she said, cursing herself inwardly for stuttering. She sounded pitiful, but being in his presence had that effect. It made one feel pitiful.

Cotnar leaped from the column he stood on, his body becoming a wolf as he did, though his size never changed. From his back the wings remained and his paws remained feline. He touched his wet nose to her brown hair and breathed in deeply. She was afraid of what he was to say. Good. It is as it should be.
"Lyrica Moonspirit," He said in a harsh voice that would make one feel as though they were on trial rather then simply accepting an assignment. He circled her slowly watching her every muscle carefully. "You already know why you are summoned, you are simply to foolish to realize that I would have found out." He stopped in front of her and pushed her head up pressing her nose against hers as he growled. "Do not underestimate my power. Do it again and you will be punished. But for now your weakness will become our strength."

Her whole body tense. and she felt a need to pass out or scream or cry. She did neither, only nodded. More than anything, she wanted to cry. What did he mean, her weakness for stregnth? Please don't hurt Peter... she thought, more prayed, as she waited anxiously for what he'd have in mind.

At least it wasnt him who was in trouble. He watched him talk to her taking whatever form pleased him. It was the way of the changeling he was to take the form of combinations of animals, or such was as he had seen in the time he was here. But he still did not know what she had done. In truth, he did not care. She was just some random girl she didn't know. But he kept his head bowed untill he was dismissed in case she was needed.

Humans, so easy to fool . . .
He sat in front of her licking away the horrible taste and scent of human flesh from his nose. But then, he was surrounded by them now and it would take a week's worth of washing to get rid of this scent. He howled to the moon only for a oment before his shape changed to become the great lion Aslan.
"What need to be done must be done quickly and flawlessly." He roared, "When the time comes we shall take what shall be ours from them. And you, young one, will lead us there. The high king is the most respected among the three kings in Narnia. If he is brought down then the others will follow. You will bring him to me."

Her heart sunk, her blood froze in her veins. She must have turned two shades paler, too. Words would not come easliy. "N-no..." she whispered, "How...could I ... I ... I don't....know...." She wondered if Lamont knew. He'd have her head for sure if he figured out her spy had feeling for the enemy. Actually, in her mind, the beast before her and Lamont were then enemy. Her heart was with Peter. Her heart was with Narnia.

"So you refuse." He growled and his formed changed agian so a great centaur took the place of the great lion. "I thought you would. after all, you are nothing more than a weak and pathetic human. Very well then, it will be as you wish."
He roared and knocked her on her back with one claw and pinned her flat to the ground. She would do no more damage to their group.
"Lamont!" He called, "She will be your prisioner. Do with her as you will."

She cried out, fighting at first, then stopped. She knew he was too strong for her. "Lamont! She will be your prisioner. Do with her as you will." Her eyes widened, and she felt an anger boiling inside of her. It came out in a yell that was more forceful and confidant than she expected. "What will you do with him?" The words came from deep within, uncontrolled and strong. This was the part of her that she'd hidden, the part she pushed away so she wouldn't get hurt. But that side was resltess. She didn't care if she got hurt anymore.

Another assignment. Perfect. The boy had worked himself so very hard to put himself in the high ranking position that he was in. Already his nerves were stretched and all he needed was to have to take care of some girl who can't control her wandering mind.
"I haven't decided what I'll do with you just yet." He said standing. "Your fate will be a hard one to deside. If I were you I'd listen to the master. It would be eaiser on us all."
