Caspian swept her off her feet and cradled her, rocking her back and forth gently. He kissed the top of her head. "Shhhh, it's alright." he told her. He gave her an encouraging smile and began to sing, "Hush little Cuddle-bug, don't you cry. I'm gonna sing 'till your tears have dried." he sang to her.

she tried to stay still, but she was still shaking when he cradled her. She leaned her head against his chest, but her arms stayed over her chest, blocking anyone from seeing or touching what was under them. but she waited for his little song from his perfect singing voice knowing it might chace the image from her mind.

"Dear little Cuddle-bug, don't you shake. My heart's right here for you to take. I will always love and comfort you, when you're sad and feeling blue. Sweet little Cuddle-bug, don't you fear, I'm gonna hold you close and dear."

She closed her eyes, only to open them as the image reapeared. She looked up to Caspian, watching his lips move with his words. She ran her fingers lightly over his lips grateful for him. The cursed image of the boy's face was still engraved somewhere where she could see it, but it was fading. "Don't stop."

"Pretty little Cuddle-bug, don't forget about me, when you're scared of the face you see. Darling little Cuddle-bug speak with joy. You and I will have a baby boy. Cutest little Cuddle-bug don't you see? You are here and we are free."

these words were ones she did not know. He was making them as he went. She wouldn't let him sing anymore though, not this time at least. Maybe later she would get him to sing again. But before he could start up again she wrapped her hand around the back of his neck and forced him into a kiss. She didn't think he would objcet though.

Caspian, as always, accepted her lips with eager joy. "Better?" he asked his wife, holding her so closely that he could hear her breathing. He was still cradling her, and the rocking hadn't stopped.

"I can still see him," She told him honestly even though she hated saying it, "But I see you more."

Caspian nodded and stroked her face softly. He sat down on the bed and let her sit on his knee, wrapping the blankets around them both. "But you know what?" he said softly, his voice suggesting that he was gonig to say something comforting, because he was. "He can't see you. I can see your sweet face. I can hear your beautiful voice. I know your kind personality. I can smell your perfume, and it hypnotizes me. I can taste your kisses when you kiss me, and I can only be thankful that they aren't chocolate, because if they were chocolate then your lips would be gone." Caspian smiled at her. "I can feel your body against mine, and your warm tears as they fall from your eyes and splash against me. Lamont will never know the things that I know. Ever. He will never hurt you again. Not while I am with you."

She wanted to kiss him as he spoke. Every word was beautiful and poetic, and all of it about her. She had a perfect husband, lover, and king, and never could she want anything more. She kissed him again and then leaned against his shoulder, her lips only a hair's length away from his neck in case she found reason to kiss him again. "And if anything goes wrong," She told him laughing a bit, "I'll make sure Lamont dosn't try to take you."

"Nothing is going to go wrong." he whispered back. "Not now." Caspian laid against the pillows, taking her with him, and smiled at her. He was happy that she was feeling better. He took the covers and tossed them into the air so that they fell evenly over the King and Queen.

She nuzzled against him, pressing her stomach against him knowing that in a few months she would be too big to do it. She would wrap her leg over his and hold him close to her body knowing he would not fight her. She didn't want him to let her go. She wasn't sure what time it was or even the day. How long had they been together? Oh well . . . time meant nothing as long as she was with him. She could spend another hundred years hearing nothing but his songs to her and she almost wished she could. One day the both of them would be in Aslan's country and that's all she would do. "I love my lord Caspian,"

"I love my kind lady Susan." he answered, looping his arm around her lower back and kissing the corner of her mouth. "Always." Caspian closed his eyes, listening to the wonderful silence of the room. Listening to the breathing of his wife and son. It was so quiet that he could hear their hearts beating.

"I love you more," she said as always and kissed him softly but did not pull away. There was no reason too and she enjoyed the feeling so why should she?

Caspian hummed a happy approval as she brought her lips to his again. Susan's lips were so soft, it was as if he were kissing rose petals. His eyes remained closed as he focused on her.
